I would like to hear from drug addicts and survivors of childhood sexual, emotional, or physical abuse who are now adults & trying their best to serve YHWH. YOU ARE NOT ALONE! We have a common bond in our pain that we carry & we need to come together before YHWH as a fellowship to discuss how the Father is helping us through life.

Shalom Felix,

I believe this is a very good ministry. Addiction is very near and devistating to many of us, including me. My mother was an alcoholic and a brother in Yahweh who is in prison now because of his addiction to drugs. I have started the Prisoners Post Ministry and if you feel led to contact him and encourage him that would be such a blessing. I believe our common bond is now Yahshua and he is working through us all for his glory. Here is his address:

I have been in the deliverance ministry for 13 years and have seen all kinds of addiction, and emotional problems in people.

I can honestly say that those who have been severely abused almost always have MPD (DID) multiple personality disorder as a result. Women are especially affected. It is not a difficult thing to deal with if one is willing to accept these problems as spiritual rather that medical or physical. I have seen all kinds of people healed and set free after their curses and demons are removed. It's spiritual warfare in most cases, but most refuse to accept that, so they suffer because of their being stiff necked.

“Our physical and emotional condition is often the result of the spiritual battles taking place around us (curses and demons). Our condition is the result of our winning or losing the battles.”

I would be glad to help anyone serious about receiving Yah's freedom made available at Calvary.

yes, a spiritual problem..
.
. a lot of 'believers' even fail to understand, and far less
often is it stated,
all the world is under a delusion as well as a death sentence,
and
as it is written 'all of us once were' under the power of the
prince of darkness/by being deluded into thinking we were

I thank you for reviving this thread! I had been absent for a time and had never before seen it.

I do not believe "deluded into thinking we were actually free to choose, to make our own decisions" is accurate, but that does not mean we disagree. Rather, it is a matter of understanding various mis-perceptions stemming from simple ignorance (lack of knowledge). For example:

I once stood in traffic court and told a judge I had not had any other choice when I had driven a car with insufficient brakes (and ended up running a red light), and he quickly corrected me on that matter and said I had simply made a bad choice that day. But because of my desperation in a given set of circumstances while presuming to justify my decision by the fact I had nothing but the best of motives, I had honestly believed what I had done was my only option. Hence, the problem there had been a combination of ego (I thought I could overcome a given situation myself), fear (of not being able to go pick up a friend to help me with something unless I drove that defective car), pride (in not wanting to call someone else for a ride and have to admit my lack of self-sufficiency) and ignorance (in knowing no other way to handle the matter)...not that I truly had no choice or that my decision had somehow been made for me.

Absolutely, and all of that is what these past 30+ years of my own life have been all about. I have an actual physical allergy that makes controlled drinking impossible, and that is still a fact about me to this day. However, I also used to be someone who absolutely could not live without taking the *first* drink that could only set off yet another debacle, and that ultimately turned out to be nothing other than a spiritual matter. Just as with the car with the bad brakes, my ego had been telling me I could yet find some way to either drink safely or stop altogether, fear of never being able to do so had kept me trying so my pride would not be smashed by my having to admit my lack of self-sufficiency and ask for help, and I was ignorant of the actual nature of my problem and its solution. So with no other option known to me, there seemed nothing else I could do but to keep trying whatever I could still find some way to believe might work until I had finally "crashed" to the extent I did not even want to get up yet once more and try again.

That is brokenness, and there in its pit is where spiritual healing can begin if we are willing to drop the shovel and learn to listen so we can listen to learn what to actually do.

"Lack of power, that was our dilemma. We had to find a power by which we could live, and it had to be a Power greater than ourselves...which will solve your problem." ("Alcoholics Anonymous", page 45)

note: There is nothing there about "show you how to solve it" or "help you solve it", only "will solve your problem" for you! And so:

"We admitted we were powerless -- that we could not manage our own lives.
"Came to believe (by seeing evidence in the lives of others) that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity (as to the matter of reliance).
"Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to His care and direction by following a specific course of action."
("Alcoholics Anonymous", codified and paraphrased a bit)
