I received this encouraging update by email yesterday:

Quote:
<font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">Here is the latest news for those who are praying with us for the restoration of our son, Yitzak. It has been a month now since his accident. A few days ago Yitzak received a tracheostomy so that he can be more mobile and begin active recovery. Since then he has been spending time each day sitting up and engaging in rehab activities designed to help him regain his strength. Although he has not yet recovered his voice he is able to communicate well and is clearly as smart as ever and has lost none of his mental function from the accident or treatment. We asked one of the nurses here if they get other patients with similar injuries to Yitzak. She said no. When we asked her why she said that normally people die with injuries like his. Truly, we have already experienced a miracle in the survival of our son!

Yitzak is required to go through a rehab program before he can be released to go home. We have been investigating various facilities to determine which would be best for Yitzak. Once he is accepted into a rehab facility it could be months before he is finally released to come home. Till then our entire family is displaced from our home, since we need to remain close to Yitzak to oversee and aid his recovery while also continuing care and education of the rest of our children. For the last month we have all been living in one room near the hospital and will be doing the same for two or more months of rehab. We know that it will take some time, but we continue to believe for Yitzak’s full restoration.

Being displaced from home to deal with this family emergency has been a big challenge in every area of life for our family and will have some impact on the ministry until we are all home again and can return to something like normal life. During this time please forgive us if we are not as quick to respond to email or forum posts as we would like.

We thank all of you for your continued prayers and support during this challenging time. We especially want to thank Sister Viola, and her family and friends who enabled her to literally drive across the country, to help us during the most intense part of this trial. Brethren like that are truly more than friends – they are our family.

Shabbot Shalom,

Eliyahu ben David

May Yahweh continue to heal this young man, strengthen his family and be glorified through their testimony.

Let's continue to pray!
