My son, daughter-in-law, and nephews were attacked by a mexican gang, my nephew was stabbed, they were shot at. That was over a year ago. There have been trials going on for the whole time since then, there are different charges for different members according to what part they played in the attack, some were minors so they had different trial dates. One trial was the day before my son's wedding, one was the day after and now there's another - and my grandson is due in the middle of this. My daughter-in-law is excused of course but she will be alone and terrified (her mother will be with her) but these people's "friends" and relatives have threatened to kill anyone who testifies and family members too. The boys will be under police protection at all times, will testify behind bullet-proof glass, but so what? It's likely that my son will not be there for his first child's birth because of these "people". Will they kill him?
I was taking my youngest out for the birth but now? And I can't go without him, i don't want to tell him all these details! How can I go without him? If I go to be with my son and get killed myself, what happens to my youngest? He'll be left alone? Given back to his pervert father? Nothing is good here.

Except that all the boys and the two girls survived the attack. Yes, I AM grateful for that.

Thank you all of you.
Today I just got pictures my son and his wife sent of themselves, along with one of my other son who lives out there, and sonograms of the baby. It helps a little to see them even while it makes me miss them more.

Tonight i talked to my son - the last trial has been canceled!! The criminals plea bargained, they got 30 years each, my son can be home when the baby's born, it's all over! The latest on the baby is strong heartbeat, healthy, active! Everything there sounds wonderful for them now.
Besides all this, my son had just gotten a raise with a promotion that gives him fewer hours (instead of close to 60/week) for more money!
They're thanking everyone for the prayers and are very grateful, we all are, for the wonderful Father who loves us and helps us!!!!!
