Hello Brethren;
For many years I've been struggling with a sin that I just can't seem to give up. Long ago I gave it up for about 9 months, until I walked into a trap and since then I just can't seem to give it up. My salvation is in doubt as I feel like I'm trampling on Messiah's Blood. A large part of me says I can give it up any time I really want to, but I don't because I don't truly love Messiah. Another part of me says that I've trampled His Grace for too long and that it's all but hopeless for me. There are times when I feel certain that I'm doomed to Gehenna. Please Pray for me to have the strength to resist. If you need to know, Email me and I shall give you more details...

Shalom,
I read your posting and my heart goes out to you. I don't need to know what this "Sin" is as it really makes no difference to me what it is as I will pray for you anyway. Yahweh knows and that's all that matters.
You seem to be questioning your salvation. I don't know all your thoughts on this, but I can feel your pain.
I pray I'm not talking out of turn when I say this, but just because we are saved and have faith in Yahweh and Yahusha doesn't mean that our Human nature doesn't get a hold of us and that we sometimes sin. When we do sin, we need to go right away to our Father, Yahweh and ask for forgiveness.
Satan will always try to lead us astray. Have you ever noticed that there are people around you who don't believe in Yahweh, don't read their Bible and yet their lifes seem to be flowing along very nicely? That's because Satan doesn't need to bother them any as they are already a part of Satans flock. Satan loves to cause us to doubt. Yes, even thoughs of us who follow Yahwehs Words will sometimes have doubt about this or that. This is Satan working on us.
When times like this happen, we need to call on Yahweh even more asking him for strength to uplift us and pull us away for the evils of Satan. Yahweh will answer!
Sometimes I find myself "talking" to Yahweh, just talking like I would anyone else. When things get tuff on me and temptation is near me, I talk even more and ask for His help. Sometimes I'm talking away for HOURS, just to get me threw it. Even if you don't feel anything while your talking, don't doubt for a minute that Yahweh IS LISTENING and He's right there beside you.
Satan causes our doubt.
Whatever this "sin" is that you are having problems with ask Yahweh to take away the temtation of it from you. Pray about it EVERY DAY. Even several times a day. When the temptation is there bothering you, right away start talking to Yahweh, then ORDER Satan away from you in the name of Yahweh and His Son, Yahusha. It does work.
I will keep you in my prayers.
May Yahweh Bless and keep you safe,
Annette

Shalom brother Samuel,
I'd like to share something with you that YHWH showed to me to help me,
2 Cor 1:3 Blessed be Elohim, even the Father of our Master Yahushua Messiah, the Father of mercies, and the Elohim of all comfort; 4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of Elohim. 5 For as the sufferings of Messiah abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Messiah. 6 And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation. Praise to YHWH, the Father of our Master Yahushua, who is the Father of mercies, and the Father of Comfort. We see that YHWH comforts us in our tribulations. How does He do this? The word "comforts" is recorded in the Thayers lexicon and Strongs Concordance as meaning:
>par-ak-al-eh'-o From G3844 and G2564; to call near, that is, invite, invoke (by imploration, hortation or consolation): - beseech, call for, (be of good) comfort, desire, (give) exhort (-ation), intreat, pray. 1) to call to one’s side, call for, summon 2) to address, speak to, (call to, call upon), which may be done in the way of exhortation, entreaty, comfort, instruction, etc. 2a) to admonish, exhort 2b) to beg, entreat, beseech 2b1) to strive to appease by entreaty 2c) to console, to encourage and strengthen by consolation, to comfort 2c1) to receive consolation, be comforted 2d) to encourage, strengthen 2e) exhorting and comforting and encouraging 2f) to instruct, teach
Remember Yahushua taught that He had to leave, that the Comforter could come to us. In times of trouble,(and always) we can look to the bringer of our trouble, our tribulation, our temptation....or, we can cry out to YHWH who immediately strengthens us through His Spirit.
1Co 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but Elohim is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. 1Co 10:14 Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.
Temptation is common to man...BUT...larger than that, is that YHWH is faithful, and will not suffer us to be tempted above that we are able to bear. The temptations that we face, right here, right now..in the today YHWH has given us...has a way of escape! Through, the Comforter! HalleluYAH!!
Flee from idolatry? What is idolatry? That is placing anything ...including the tempter who is behind our temptation, before YHWH! That is deep. When we can receive it, we can also more clearly see the one who stands behind our temptation. The one who tries to convince us we are bound to that which tempts us...thus...we are bound to him! Look past our temptation. Who is standing before us, tempting us? Not YHWH! At the same token...we are not alone with the tempter! YHWH is there too! The moment we seek comfort and strength from HIM, we have help, we have the way out.
My comfort that I am able through Yahushua, to comfort you with:
4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of Elohim.
If we earnestly desire The way out of any temptation we face...anger, bitterness, unforgiveness, lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh (any area in which we are bound to the desires of the flesh) pride of life...the way out HAS been given us. Flee from idolatry. Don't let the enemy make a bigger diety, a bigger bondage of the temptations we might of given in to, in the past, even if that past was minutes ago! There is an expression I have read:
Don't tell YHWH how Big your storm is. Tell the storm how Big your Elohim is!
Won't you join me in faith, and look past your temptation, past the tempter who's desire it is that you fail .....and look to YHWH? His mercy endures forever, and our help is:
Psa 121:1 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. Psa 121:2 My help cometh from YHWH, which made heaven and earth. Psa 121:3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
He will NOT suffer our foot to be moved! He comforts us in ALL our tribulations, and will not let us be tempted beyond what we can bear...for with YHWH, NOTHING is impossible, and HE gives us strength in our time of need. Our part? Just look to HIM...cry out to HIM and HE will help us through His Set Apart Spirit! Just as Yahushua our Master overcame all temptations, so we as we surrender to YHWH and only do His Will...as we follow Yahushua, we will overcome all! HalleluYAH. May this encourage you and strengthen your faith, as YHWH has strengthened me and continues to as I seek HIM. Let us turn our eyes on YHWH, and look into HIS love! He is waiting!
Love in Yahushua, Tamar

Thnaks to the other brothers and sisters. Your posts have encouraged me in my own present stuggle. Thanks for courage to share your burden and struggle with others. We both need to meditate and allow the word of YAH to be engrafted into us, which is able to save our souls. Our spirits were saved when we were born again. May YAH tear down the strongholds that the enemy has built. When the enemy comes in, like a flood, YAH is there to raise up a standard. The war is on. It's a battle field brother not a picknick. I will continue to pray for you and covet your prayers for me. In so doing we may be able to bear one another's burdens. Kingson

Hello Samuel, I just fel like sharing something what I belive is true. You do recognize the thing that troubles you - and you do seem to hate it. I belive, all you really have to do is to make a firm decision; if that is what you want - to stop sinning - and i belive we all want that because we are happeir when we don't sin; He created us to be pure and true and true happiness can then only be experienced if we "function" according to the way we were created to function. I don't belive anything sinful can in fact be pleasurable even for the flesh, i mean, if flesh means body, because body was created by Yahweh as well. That's the lie that the enemy forces try to make us belive, but it's just like drugs... may bring some pleasure, but kills in the end. So I think when we struggle with temptations - all we have to do is to make a firm decision, not only because of Yahushua - but because it is good for us; So once that decicion is made, we are in alliance with His will, and that should mean Yahushua's presence is very near and with it the power to overcome! HalleluYah! <font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">Originally posted by hisbeatnik: Hello Brethren;

Becky - to be honest, just when I think I've turned my back on it, I find myself swimming in again... although the past month or two I'm resisting (overall) a lot more than I have been in roughly a year

I know that one of the best weapons I had against the battle that rages in the mind is first and foremost to live only in the day and not to dread failing in the future. It sounds simple but I will give you an example of the importance of it concerning any sin we are struggling with. I had a period of time in my life in which I was gripped with depression. I knew that I had allowed the enemy to 'blow things up' in my mind and that I was 'sinking.' I was at the bottom. One day, I woke up dreading the day, as usual. But that day, it was so awful that I couldn't even get out of bed. So I did one small thing; I prayed and asked Yahweh that in faith I would hang my leg from my bed and touch the floor with my foot if He would promise to carry me through the day. Pretty sad, huh? But I promised that I would thank Him at the end of every day for getting me through. As soon as my foot touched the ground I looked forward to His strength. It was amazing how my eyes were constantly seeing Him throughout the day and how I sensed His presence in the many things I had taken for granted in the past. But I literally became stronger each day by my simple 'step' of faith each new morning. There is an article I found yesterday and just want to ask you to read it. I am not a promoter of 'formulas,'per se, but when I read this and referred to my own bible for the verses listed, I really think this is going to be helpful to you and is more than just head knowledge, but is actually applicable, which is what we need. The Father gave me this verse after I read the article, Rom 12:21 'Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good'; this is a very powerful principle that Yahweh has provided. Samuel, I believe the message from our Father at this time is to overcome evil with good. Obviously it is not enough to only resist, though we must always resist temptation. But DOING GOOD as unto Yahweh is a very strong weapon, and somehow increases our strength. That morning, when I lay there unable to get out of bed, I tried 'resisting' the temptation to just stay in bed. I told myself all kinds of things like 'I have kids that I need to take care of, I have work to do, I have responsibilities, I need to be strong' trying to use reason to get myself out of bed. But it was the GOOD, the very small step of faith from this smoldering wick towards my only hope, Yahushua, that helped me overcome the evil. Please patiently and thoughtfully read the article (link listed below)and follow along in your bible reading each verse, and keep in the back of your mind while you read "overcome evil with good" and Mat 6:34 “Do not, then, worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow shall have its own worries. Each day has enough evil of itself." Let me know what you think and as you apply the Word to your life rememberRom 8:37 'But in all this we are MORE than overcomers through Him who loved us.' .......In Him, Becky http://www.ucgstp.org/lit/gn/gn009/overcsin.html If the link doesn't work, type in 'How to overcome sin by John Meakin' in google and you can access it from there [This message has been edited by becky (edited 09-17-2007).]

To answer your question, unfortunately I'm still struggling, and at times have just felt like its hopeless... so many times when I think I'm out of the woods and in the clear I walk right into it again...
I've tried to bring the issue up twice to a particularly respected member of our local Congregation, both times it was downplayed and on the last occasion "I don't need to hear that"...
