<EliYah> Tonite I would like to talk about the subject of Longsuffering Forebearance.. Mercy.. For these are the weightier matters of the law
Matthew 23:23 - Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
AS Yahshua said...judgement, mercy and faith are the weightier matters of the law Longsuffering.. It is a characteristic of Abba Yahweh...
Numbers 14:18 - YAHWEH is longsuffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation.
In Hebrew, longsuffering means 'patient, slow to anger' This is so true of our Elohim!
Psalms 86:15 - But thou, O YAHWEH, art a Elohim full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.
He is often longsuffering for His name's sake..
Isaiah 48:9 - For my name's sake will I defer mine anger, and for my praise will I refrain for thee, that I cut thee not off.
For His name's sake He was longsuffering with His people..
Ezekiel 20:13 - But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness: they walked not in my statutes, and they despised my judgments, which if a man do, he shall even live in them; and my sabbaths they greatly polluted: then I said, I would pour out my fury upon them in the wilderness, to consume them.:14 - But I wrought for my name's sake, that it should not be polluted before the heathen, in whose sight I brought them out.:15 - Yet also I lifted up my hand unto them in the wilderness, that I would not bring them into the land which I had given them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands;:16 - Because they despised my judgments, and walked not in my statutes, but polluted my sabbaths: for their heart went after their idols.:17 - Nevertheless mine eye spared them from destroying them, neither did I make an end of them in the wilderness.
2Peter 3:9 - YAHWEH is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
Yes, His longsuffering should lead us to repentance.
Romans 2:1 - Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.:2 - But we are sure that the judgment of YAHWEH is according to truth against them which commit such things.:3 - And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of YAHWEH?:4 - Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of YAHWEH leadeth thee to repentance?

Yahshua taught us of the longsuffering of Yahweh
Luke 13:6 - He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none.:7 - Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground?:8 - And he answering said unto him, Master, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it::9 - And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.
Yes, Yahweh is longsuffering with us..Yahshua taught us that WE are to be longsuffering also!
Matthew 18:21 - Then came Kepha to him, and said, Rabbi, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?:22 - YAHSHUA saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.:23 - Therefore is the kingdom of heaven :24 - And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents.:25 - But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his master commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.
Ten thousand Talents!! Yes, our debt to Yahweh is quite a measure! Yet He STILL forgives
Matthew 18:26 - The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Master, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.:27 - Then the master of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.
HalleluYah for the mercy of Yahweh! now.. Is this our attitude with our brethren? :
:28 - But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest.:29 - And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.:30 - And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.

18:31 - So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their master all that was done.
This is often how I have seen other brethren react to a brother being merciless to another brother...sorrowful :( Because it is so unbecoming to our Father..YAHWEH
Matthew 18:32 - Then his master, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:33 - Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?:34 - And his master was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.:35 - So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.
This is a powerful statement by our Master Yahshua! I don't think we realize the implications of not being Longsuffering toward one another....
Matthew 18:35 - So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.
Do we want Yahweh do to this to us?? Then we must...from our heart...forgive
Proverbs 19:11 - The discretion of a man deferreth his anger; and it is his glory to pass over a transgression.
There is much truth in this proverb Beware that we harbor unforgiveness in our hearts!
Proverbs 21:2 - Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but YAHWEH pondereth the hearts.
Yahweh knows.. Remember Yahshua's prayer?
Matthew 6:12 - And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
1Corinthians 13:4 - Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
Yahshua was longsuffering and humble of heart Let us be like Him
Galatians 5:22 - But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,:23 - gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
Indeed it is a fruit of the Spirit
2Timothy 4:1 - I charge thee therefore before YAHWEH, and the Master YAHSHUA ha Mashiach, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;:2 - Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
Colossians 3:12 - Put on therefore, as the elect of YAHWEH, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;:13 - Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as the Messiah forgave you, so also do ye.
We learned last week how longsuffering David was with Shaul He endeavored to make peace with him So this is not just a 'new testament' teachingIf we are to walk worthy of our calling, we must also be humble, longsuffering with one another, forebearing one another.. Like David, we must endeavor to keep the unity of the Spirit.
Ephesians 4:1 - I, therefore, the prisoner of YAHSHUA, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called,:2 - with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love,:3 - endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
Like Father Yahweh is......so let us be...longsuffering Like our Master Yahshua is..so let us be...longsuffering And like the righteous men were who walked in the paths of Yahweh...so let us be... Longsuffering!
