Commands of the Apostles – Part 44

08/19/23 Video Broadcast

This study addresses the following questions:

  1. Why does the KJV in 1st Corinthians 13 say that love “thinketh no evil” when the Bible itself contains stories of people doing evil?
  2. If love “keeps no record of wrongs” why does the Bible contain the wrong choices of righteous men like David, Peter and others?
  3. How is a lack of self-worth related to a willingness to “rejoice in iniquity?”
  4. If love “bears all things” does that mean someone must be willing to live in ongoing abuse?
  5. If we aren’t supposed to believe lies, how can love “believe all things?”
  6. What kinds of things must we endure as believers?
  7. If we fail in the kind of love that’s described in 1st Corinthians 13, are we on the road to damnation?
  8. Why is prophesying the spiritual gift we should desire the most?
  9. Why is the gift of prophesying so uncommon today?
  10. What is the main purpose of spiritual gifts?
  11. If the gift of tongues were for unbelievers, why would unbelievers coming into your congregation think those who using it have gone mad?

How can we tell if the gift of tongues, as we commonly see it today, is the true gift spoken of in 1st Corinthians 14?
