Denominations ARE Heresy - Study

We are ready to begin our study portion for today's broadcast, and a lot of you may have come out of what's called denominational Christianity; where you attended a church and in order to become a church member you had to read and agree to a statement of doctrines. You had to sign on the dotted line and then they will baptize you and you become officially a card-carrying member of that particular church. They may not have given you a card but anyway membership is, so I wanna talk about that, I wanna talk about just denominationalism as a whole. Because I have found, based on a search of the scriptures, that denominationalism disregards a lot of important things, for instance the basics of the good news of Yahushua, and at what point Yahweh meets us. And so we're gonna talk today about this topic of denominations are heresy or heretical, and denominations themselves will typically kick out those who are not ascribing to their viewpoints. And so they will say that you are the heretic, I'm going to show you from scripture that they are actually practicing heresy and I can prove it confidently from the word of Elohim. First of all the basics, what do we need in order to become a believer? We talked about this Psalm last week and what I see here as being taught by Paul himself saying I kept nothing back: I kept back nothing that was helpful, but reclaimed it to you, and taught you publicly, and from house to house. Testifying to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward Elohim (that's step one), and
faith toward our Master Yahushua Messiah.
Two things he taught, publicly, keeping nothing back that was helpful, taught publicly testifying the same gospel to both Jews and to Greeks, repentance towards Elohim and faith toward our Master Yahushua Messiah. That's what he taught and that's what I teach,
however what happens is people get to a certain
point, they want to raise certain doctrines that they feel are important and they decide that they're going to up the ante and require more than that. And so on one hand they can be correct, on the other hand they can be wrong; for instance in 1 Corinthians chapter 11 he says; Now and given these instructions I do not praise you, since you come together not for the better, but for the worse. For first of all, when you come together as a church (or assembly), I hear that there are divisions among you; and in part I believe it. For there must also be factions among you, that those who are approved may be recognized among you.
Very interesting, division was a problem and factions
and division were problems in the first-century congregation; here we are 2 Millennia later and people say well there's too much division, it's so much division and I just wish there wasn't division. Well I'm all with you, but it does say this is going to happen; and those who are approved will be recognizable. You are the ones that are approved I mean you know the ones who are maybe creating division feel like they're correcting the things that need to be corrected and everybody else is the ones that are not approved. And those who are making the corrections need, are considered to be the ones who are approved. So where do you draw the line? And that's where a lot of confusion actually exists. So there are divisions among you, schisms, has in the Hebrew Schisma in the Hebrew. And then it says for there must also be factions
among you, factions are from very hard to say
Greek word hairesis and means the act of taking, capture, choosing, choice that which is chosen, a
body of men following their own tenants, a sect
or party of the Sadducees, Pharisees; it says Christians but that's not even true. Dissensions arising from diversity opinions in Ames, is how the Thayer's Greek lexicon comes to define this word and some of this just sound very familiar to you. And then it's rooted in, it says from 138, so let's take a look at 138. It means to take for oneself, to prefer, choose; to choose by vote, elect to office, like politics happening here. So it has to do with taking for oneself, to catch, voting in the public office, using the good sense and not so good sense. The good sense would be here it says; if I live in the flesh, this will mean fruit for my labor: yet what I shall choose I cannot tell. For I am hard pressed between the two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Messiah; which is far better. So he just like, he's trying to have to make a choice here. You're going to have to make a choice right, all right so it has to do with choosing and there's an interesting word family as we see here, where we're going with this. Let's take a look at another scripture, Acts chapter 5 another example another example but Acts chapter 5 here says; and the high priest rose up, and all who were with him, (which is the sect of the Sadducees,) same word hairsis and here some of the sect of the Pharisees who believes rose up saying blah blah blah, okay. But he's saying this is coming from a sect, very
important, the idea of sectarianism I will call
it, the very is exact the same word as the word from
which we get heresy.

Heresies is where we get heresy from okay, so

sectarianism or denominationalism in and
of itself by definition is heresy.
Swallow that one for a little bit, it's true,

it's the exact same word for sect is the same word
translated factions.
So having to choose either you're part of our little
club here guys or you're not, you're part of our little sect or you're not. You have to choose whether you're going to be a part of us or not and if you're not a part of us of course it always, almost always along with that then you're not part of the true church, then you're not part of the body of the Messiah, then you're one of the have-nots and we're one of the haves. So another example Acts 24 verse 1 says; and after
five days Ananias the high priest came down with the
elders, and a certain orator named Tertullus, these gave evidence to the governor against Paul. And when he was called upon, Tertullus began his accusation, saying, that through you here we enjoy great peace, and prosperity is being brought to this nation by your foresight. We accept it always, and in all places, most noble Felix, with all thankfulness. See they hired an orator see, now this little
interesting note.
Nevertheless, not to be tedious to you any further, I beg you to hear by your courtesy, a few words from us. For we have found this man (talking about Paul) a plague, a creator of dissension among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes. So they accused Paul as being the ringleader of a sect and what is that word in the Greek. You guessed it--hairsis and which means heresy basically, a sect. And Paul did not agree with his characterization of him and he responded down in verse 10 by saying this; Paul, after that the governor had ordered him to speak, answered, inasmuch as I know you have been for many years a judge of this nation, I do the more cheerfully answer for myself. Because you may ascertain, that it is no more than twelve days since I went up to Jerusalem to worship. And they neither found me in the temple disputing
with anyone, nor inciting the crowd, either in the
synagogues, or in the city. Nor can they prove the things of which they now accuse me. But this I confess to you, that according to the way which they call a sect, so I worship the Elohim of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets. So he said, they call it a sect, he called it the way. Now interestingly the Nazarenes historically
were people that believed this; according to
Epiphanius, probably saying his name wrong, church fathers they use not only the New Testament but the Old Testament as well as the Jews do, talking about the Nazarenes. He said "these sectarians... did not call themselves Christians--but 'Nazarenes,' " and then Jerome actually said "the Nazarenes accept the Messiah in such a way that they do not cease to observe the old law", interesting. And Paul was called the ringleader of the Nazarenes and so, oddly enough, Paul is the one they often quote to say "we should not observe the old law", but historically speaking Nazarenes were people that did observe the law and also accepted the Messiah Yahushua. They quoted both the New Testament an old, very similar to what I believe except I would not refer to it as a sect, I would refer to it as the way.
So I will call it the way, so Paul seems to reject
the idea of even being called part of a sect at all, he never called himself a Nazarene, he never really called himself a Christian.
But there are certain people who were of the
way, in fact Saul was going to try to kill them in Acts chapter 9, before he was a believer. Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the master, went to the high priest. Asked letters from him to the synagogues of Damascus, so that if he found any who were of the way, whether men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem. So what is the way? We know that Yahushua is the way, the truth and the life, right. And if we look this up in the Greek, it simply says properly a traveled way, a road, a traveler's way, a journey, traveling, course of conduct, a way, and men are thinking, feeling and deciding, it simply means way, a traveled road.
Now he rejected the idea of the sect, he embraced

the idea of a path and this is where
denominationalism gets it wrong.
Denominationalism says; you must ascribe to
doctrine ABCDE, 2 or 3 pages sometimes, sometimes longer than that, and then you're a believer.
What Paul taught was repentance and faith in
the Messiah Yahushua, there are only 2 things one must do in order to become a believer, one is repent repent; repent does not mean you instantly know every doctrine in in the bible and you can quote it verbatim, you've got it memorized down path, you've memorized the Westminster Confession. It doesn't mean all that, it simply means you have made a decision that you're going to turn away from evil and turn toward righteousness and you're gonna let Yahweh lead you, and let him guide you into
all truth.
And you're gonna put your trust in the Master Yahushua the Messiah for the forgiveness of sin, repentance and faith toward our Master Yahushua, two things required. Now a man who was alone in his motel room, opens up a Bible left by the Gideon's, start reading, gets convicted about things he's done wrong, decides he wants to change his way and gets on his
face in repents and says I believe the Messiah
Yahushua died for me and that I am forgiven and receive cleansing through him. And says, I believe I need to change my ways and start doing things Yahweh's way, instead of my own way.
Such a man may only know one percent of the Bible;

but he knows enough to realize his relationship
with Yahweh is broken and he needs to humble himself before his maker, and receive forgiveness of sin through the Messiah Yahushua, and that's all he needs to know at that moment, it's he needs to know. And because he has a repentant heart he will allow Yahweh to teach him righteousness, to teach him along the way, so he begins his journey.
Tracing the word back to Hebrew, the word way means
path, road, path or way or passing, a traveler.
Isaiah chapter 2 verse 3 says; many people shall
come and say (this is an unfulfilled prophecy), Come, and let us go up to the mountain of Yahweh, to the house of the Elohim of Jacob; he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law (which law?), and the word of Yahweh from Jerusalem. Those people are on the way, they're learning the way; they may not learn it all at once but they're learning nonetheless, you are too so am I, so are we
if our ears are open to his teaching, we are. Proverbs
4:18 says, the path of the just is like the shining sun, that shines ever brighter to the perfect day.
If you are on this path don't let any denomination
tell you otherwise, you are a repentant person and
you are accepted by the father in heaven as you
put your trust in his ways and in the way, the truth and the life, Yahushua the Messiah says I am the way, the truth and the life. The truth and the life no one comes to the father except through me. But, too many churches are quick to give you the let's see the proverbial right foot of fellowship instead of right hand of fellowship and kick you out of the door because you don't ascribe to their particular doctrines. That is church doctrines and the by that not
regarding whether you are a repentant believer in
the Messiah Yahushua those who practice those things are actually practicing sectarianism, denominationalism which is by definition heresy. Are you catching this?
They don't make a correct distinction between where
a person becomes a believer and where they are no longer a believer.
Titus chapter 3 verse 8 says; this is a faithful
saying, and these things I want you to affirm constantly, that those who have believed in Elohim should be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable to men. But avoid foolish disputes, genealogies, contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and useless.
And we see this also in the Hebrew roots movement,
that person is not brother because they don't believe this, this person on a brother because they don't believe that, strivings about the law; unprofitable, useless.
Because, strife is a work of the flesh, not a fruit
of the spirit. Scripture says actually; reject a divisive man after the first and second admonition. Knowing that such a person is warped, sinning and being self-condemned, Titus 3:10. What's the word for divisive in the Greek? Same word family hairetikos, federated to
choose the things because mac factors follower full
Stockton heretic. Same word family one who is demanding you ascribe
to their particular pet doctrines before you can
become saved are heretical.
It is a characteristic of heretics to create
division and separate themselves and then demand that you choose between what they say and what you believe. If you don't believe what they believe then you're not among them and therefore you're not saved and therefore you're going to hell and therefore they need to avoid you and kick you out and have nothing to do with you anymore. That is the danger of denominationalism which by definition sectarianism is heretical. So back to what Paul said in 1 Corinthians 11; a lot of times these denominations, they're following a particular man's teachings and therefore they think you have to follow this particular man's teachings in order to be saved, to be whatever and same thing was going on in the first-century. 1 Corinthians 1:11; for it has been declared to me concerning you, my brethren, by those of Chloe's household, that there are contentions among you.
Now I say this, each of you says, I am of Paul; or
I am of Apollos; or I am of Cephas; or I am of Messiah. Is Messiah divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Are we baptized in the name of Paul? Come on guys, and yet you will walk into a church and they will tell you if you do this, this, this, this, this, and we will baptize you and you'll be baptized in the church. Where in scripture are you baptized into a church? No, you're baptized into the body of Messiah, you become part of his body, that church, that particular church denominations is not what you're getting baptized into, it is into Messiah and that church denomination is not the only ones out there that can get you enough information to where you can come to salvation. But you see where the lines are drawn, we have the same thing going on today well I'm a Paul Wesley, I'm of Wesley and I'm off man Simon's Mennonites, I'm of this denomination, that denomination, Amish or Lutheran or whatever. They all got their little I'm of this, I'm of that and they see themselves as being the chosen ones.
So we need to avoid this, so we have the same
problem going on in the first century and here's how they resolved it. Acts chapter 15 verse 1; a certain men came down from Judaea and taught the brethren, unless you are circumcised according to the custom of Moshe, you cannot be saved. Therefore when Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and dispute with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain others of them, should go up to Jerusalem to the apostles and elders about this question.
So being sent on their way by the assembly, they
passed through Phenice and Samaria, describing the conversion of the Gentiles: and they caused great joy to all the brethren. And when they had come to Jerusalem, they were received by the assembly, and the apostles and elders, and they reported all things that Elohim had done with them. That's what they do, report what Elohim has done, not what they did anyway. But some of the sect of the Pharisees who had become the sectarians (well they can't be saved until), they have been circumcised, and have learned to keep the Law of Moses, and then we will accept them afterward. It's basically what's being said here based on the context, they said earlier they can't be saved until they're circumcised right, cannot be saved. So, the apostles and elders came together to consider the matter. And when there had been much dispute, Peter rose up, and said to them, Men and brethren, you know that a good while ago Elohim chose among us, that by my mouth the Gentiles should hear the word of the good news, and believe. So Elohim, who knows the hearts, acknowledge them, by giving them the Holy Spirit, just as he did to us. And made no distinction; between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith. Now therefore why do you test Elohim, by putting a yoke on the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?
What is that yoke?
Sectarianism, it's not the Law of Moses; it's not Yahweh's word, that's a yoke that nobody can bear. It is this idea, this doctrine that you are not saved until you are circumcised and you kept the law. Now Gentiles were brand new believers and there were Gentiles in Acts chapter 9 and 10 that Peter himself went to them and taught them the word of Yahweh; told them about Yahushua. They were not yet circumcised and yet they were given the Holy Spirit, which proves Yahweh had met them right where they were at. And so if you cannot come to somebody with the Torah scroll on one hand and a scalpel on the other and tell them about Yahushua and get too many converts, right? I mean you just don't do it that way, their relationship needs to be intact with the father and let Yahweh lead them at a pace that they can bear, right. Because it's ultimately as Peter said it's through the grace of the Master Yahushua we shall be saved in the same manner as they. Now in this, you know, scenario Paul actually talked about it, he talked about it in Galatians chapter 2 he says; I went up by revelation, communicated to them that gospel which I preach (which was that? Repentance and faith) among the Gentiles, but privately to those who were of reputation, lest by any means I might run, or had run, in vain. Yet not even Titus, who was with me, being a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised. So Titus was with them and they did not demand, well Titus you're not saved until you're circumcised, you're not saved yet, they never said that.
So Paul is ascribing the event of Acts 15 and Titus
was among this group, and was not required to be circumcised even though he was out there kind of preaching with them. And this occurred because of false brethren secretly brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Messiah Yahushua that they might bring us into bondage. To whom we did not yield submission, even for an hour; that the truth of the good news might continue with you. Again emphasis is placed on the truth of the good news being preached, rather than a different gospel from certain men of Judaea, false brethren, they like to work in secret. And these men were coming in and saying, no, no, no, no, no, Gentiles are not saved until they're circumcised and they've learned and kept Torah. And what I said to you about the man in a hotel room, they would say that man is not saved. And there are churches in America today who would say the same thing, they have to be taught the apt to learn all this, this, this, this, and then we'll accept them.
Same thing, same exact thing, well this man, it
says the desire to make a good showing in the flesh, these would compel you to be circumcised only that they may not suffer the persecution for the cross the Messiah for not even those who are circumcised keep the law, but they desire to have you circumcised so that they may boast in your flesh. In other words they can brag to everybody, look got one, got foreskin here, I mean it's ridiculous.
So what's the real solution?
Where can we make a division? Can we make a division at all? Is it wrong to kick someone out of your fellowship?
It's not wrong, it has to be based on the person
rejecting the gospel, not walking in repentance and or not putting their trust and faith in the Messiah Yahushua for the forgiveness of sin. One of these two elements is what creates an unbeliever, their particular details of their understanding and what they know, the father's will is, it's something that you have to give people time and space to learn.
But there are certain things that are so clearly
wrong in the word that yeah you need to make a
clear thing where it's obvious this person is
committing a sin, that we know the sin, everyone knows the sin and they know it's a sin, and we need to deal with this. For instance 1 Corinthians chapter 5 says; it is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and such sexual immorality as is not even named among the Gentiles, that a man has his father's wife. And you are puffed up, and not rather mourned, that he who has done this deed might be taken away from among you. I indeed, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have already judged, as though I was present, him who has done this deed, in the name of our Master Yahushua Messiah, when you are gathered together, along with my spirit, with the power of our Master Yahushua Messiah. Deliver such a one to Satan for the destruction of the flesh that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Master Yahushua. Your glorying is not good. do you not know a little leaven leavens the whole lump? Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For Messiah our Passover was sacrificed for us. Looks like feast keepers to me, therefore let's keep the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. I wrote to you in my epistle not to keep company with sexually immoral people. Yet I certainly did not mean with the sexually immoral people of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; since then you would need to go out of the world. But now I have written to you not to keep company, if anyone named a brother, who is sexually immoral, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; not to even eat with such a person. For what have I to do with judging those also who are outside? Do you not judge those who are inside? But those who are outside Elohim judges. Therefore put away from yourselves the evil person. So there is a place for division, when someone is practicing a sin, there is unquestionably wrong in evil, but the problem is people are rejected on the
basis of things that have nothing to do with whether
that person is a repentant person. But more along the lines of you got this list of doctrines they have to believe and if they don't believe it then out they go. It's a modern application of what was going on in Acts 15 and the book of Galatians, was misrepresentation of the gospel, you have to ascribe to certain beliefs before accepted as a church member; or you kind of ignore or you're reluctant to accept new believers, or you are treating those who don't do everything you do like they are second-class believers. Those are elements of sectarianism and denominationalism even in the Hebrew roots movement.
And we have to walk away from that kind of
mentality, so what is this word reviler?
Interesting this word reviler, got to look at
that one time, a reviler; the Gingrich lexicon says
a reviler, an abusive person.

Freiberg lexicon has, as one who intentionally
abuses another with speech, reviler slanderer, an abusive person.
It's interesting, one of the attributes sometimes
of a denomination or church who kick somebody
out is they do that very thing, they sin at them,
they abuse them, they revile them, not always. But going back to the Hebrew, Proverbs 26:21 says; as charcoal is to burning coals, and wood to fire; so is a contentious man to kindle strife. Someone looking for a fight, looking for division, looking to separate, forcing someone to choose between them and somebody else.
So that has become their practice so much that it
becomes who they are, it becomes their personality and actually the same word you may be surprised to know refers to one who is a contentious wife.
Someone who is ready to fight against her husband
over whatever she wants to practice contention over. The translation from Hebrew to Greek is the same word, so families in which a wife is practicing abusive speech toward her husband are among those that need to be called out to repentance. And if they're not called out to repentance then you're not obeying scripture which says that not to even to eat with such a person. Now we are defamed, we are persecuted; we are going
to be put down, what is our response when we're
abused, when we're mistreated? 1 Corinthians 4:12; we labor, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we endure: Being defamed, we intreat: we have been made as the filth of the world, the offscouring of all things until now. That goes to a territory and those who have taken on the identity of a brawler and reviler, abusing people will be on the receiving end, if we're trying to walk uprightly. Because the enemy is after us and he will use them to go after us. Now concerning the sectarian mindset, I wanna revisit this verse here, that we have people that
are in the body Messiah who is simply, are people
among us who are simply engaging in foolish disputes, contentions, and strivings about the law. That suggests someone who is practicing abusive speech, and those kinds of people bring division, bring arguments, bring the flesh, bring hatred and slander. That is much so much the opposite of what we're supposed to walk out, it's regarded to be something that we should divide over, reject a divisive man after the first and second admonition. If someone is practicing sectarianism, saying you gotta do this, do this, and they're just arguing with you over everything, because they want you to join their group, they want to be a part of their following; they want you to be a part of whatever they're trying to do, look out. It has become political at that point, now a biblical
method, bring separation is here.
Matthew 18:15; if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone: if he hears you, you have gained your brother. But if he will not hear you, take with you one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. And if he refuses to hear them, tell it to the assembly (or congregation): but if he refuses to even hear the congregation, let him be to you like a heathen and a tax collector. At that point, after your first admonition which is with the two or three witnesses and the second admonition being before the whole assembly then you can reject him at that point.
Now why was a person not regarded as a believer?
Because they refused to repent when you ministered to him. So we have to be careful, we are not making a division where Yahweh himself would not make a division. Take heed to yourselves: If your brother sins against you, rebuke him; if he repents, forgive him. If he sins against you seven times in a day, seven times in a day returns to you, saying, I repent; you shall forgive him. I cannot emphasize enough the importance of shalom (peace) among families, among the assembly at large, I cannot emphasize it enough the importance of endeavoring to keep that unity of the spirit. So Paul says; I therefore, the prisoner of Yahushua, Ephesians 4:1, beseech you to walk worthy of a calling with which you are called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love. Endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of (shalom) peace. So walking worthy of the calling involves endeavoring to keep the unity of the spirit in the bond of peace. We may not have pure unity of doctrine, one day we will. But we can have a unity of the spirit in the bond of peace, and I'm here to tell you, you may be shocked to learn, I can worship alongside someone and who goes to church on Sunday, eats pork, calls on God, Jesus and Lord; there's a lot of things that I don't believe is right okay. I can worship alongside them because it's not the
doctrines that determine whether you're a believer.
I mean, say that guy in the motel room he may not have known anything about the Sabbath, he never even heard of the feast day, never even heard of a name Yahweh before. He just saw the Bible, Lord Jesus, Lord God, am I going to say that guy is lost because he hadn't yet learned the right pronunciation of the father's name or when you do a day of rest or even if there was a day of rest or that I'm not gonna judge them. They know what they know, they are where they are, and they are on the path.
And that's just the beginning of it and so
where someone is along the journey to me is not how far along you are that determines whether you're my brother or my sister.
It's whether your heart is yielded to the heavenly
Father's will for your life in your pursuing his will for your life. And you are seeking the truth, you want to know his will, and you are willing to follow him and put your trust Messiah Yahushua for forgiveness of sin. And there are a lot of people in the traditional churches who are in that position, and they are my brother and they are my sister, it's just that I learned some things that some church doctrines that have been formed over the years that it is simply not according to scripture. And I'm only here to point it out, there are some things that are not right traditions have been embraced instead of commandments. So you don't have to be like me for me to accept you, I mean who said that I am the end all? Certainly not me, I don't know everything, I'm still work in progress, I'm on the path too and while I'm out on a journey I'm glad to share the things I've learned and that's all I'm doing. And maybe you, there may be somebody in the church, he doesn't keep Sabbath, he eats pork and shellfish and he uses the wrong names and he doesn't wear the tassels, he doesn't do the things that we do, but he may actually love his wife better than you do. He may be a better dad than you, he might love his enemies better than you do, he may have a better prayer life than you have. He may be feeding the poor while you're ignoring the poor. Those are all Messiah like attributes that you're lacking, and with your pointed finger you say that person is not a believer because they don't do what you do. Couldn't they do the same thing to you? Where would that get us? More division, more arguing, more fighting, we need to respect Yahweh's leadership in another person's life. If they don't accept what you say the very minute you say it, don't assume they're unbelievers.
Yahweh may not have opened their eyes to that yet, he
may have something else in their life he is trying to show them and he'll show them what you want to share with him later. But he's got other things he's trying to show them and disciple them on as they are on this journey and you think they need what you have in order to be saved. And so you feel like you're frustrated because they won't accept it and therefore you assume they're not believers. It's not how it works, repentance and faith in Yahushua I will stand under that banner because that's what scripture teaches. And so I can be in unity with someone who doesn't pronounce the name the same way I do too, and keeps feast days on a different day, and dwell with them in love and in unity.
Because we're both seeking the same thing, we just
have two different understandings of the father's will and I know for a fact, if true
prophet that everybody knew was a prophet came
along and said this is what we're supposed to do,
that brother along Simon would change his life.

Because it's hard to yield into the father's will,
it's just that he doesn't believe you, they don't believe what I say, and that's a whole different thing. We're sitting here at this end of the times and we are pouring over the words of the ancient prophets of old, and we're trying to figure out the Hebrew nuances in the falls in the pool walls and all the other alls. And we're just trying to figure out what those prophets were teaching, what those men were teaching so that we can do the right thing. And we are bound to have some areas because of our different upbringings, our different backgrounds, our different ideas, to have differences in how we understand things.
That's not all bad, I say this Yahweh probably loves
it that we're just you know we got the scriptures down on computer programs, we get in the Greek and the Hebrew, we try to get into the stuff and figure out what he's trying to say, so we can lead it. He might like that better than if some prophet came along and says here's how you do it guys. Oh really, really, I'll put the bible down I guess and just do what this guy tells me to do you know, it's too easy. It's the glory of Elohim that conceal thing and the glory of kings has reached out that thing right. So we're trying to show ourselves as kings and
pour over the words of these prophets in the
scriptures and come to truth. In the meantime we can't be tearing each other down; there are differences, if our hearts are yielded to the father's ways. Because I tell you one thing, I agree with the Psalmist here in Psalm 133; behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! That's true that my brother Youmia used to say
how bad and how unpleasant it is for brothers not to
dwell in unity. That's true too, but beautiful unity is like the precious oil upon the head, running down on the beard, the beard of Aaron's (high priest): running down the edge of his garments. Like the dew of Hermon, descending upon the mountains of Zion (the dew of Hermon looks like gold I heard): for their Yahweh commanded the blessing, life for evermore. Beautiful thoughts, so we are taught by Yahweh one thing we know for sure, we may not have all our doctrines exactly right, at the very end Yahushua may have to correct us but there's one thing, one doctrine we know, and should know, we must do and it's this. Touching brotherly love, you have no need actually to write, you yourselves are taught by Elohim to love one another.
If you've got this doctrine down my brothers
and sisters, and you should, you have come a
long way.
So we stir up love not strive, not arguing, not
discord, not separating themselves, don't assume
well this person is not a brother because a true brother would never do this, this, or this therefore they must not be a brother, be careful about that, be very, very careful.
That's a judgment from the body of the Messiah to
make collectively, not for one person individually.
And with what measure you use, we measure back to
you; the judgment you judge, you'll be judged. So if they don't have all their doctrines right and you think you do, you find out you're wrong you've judged them to be an unbeliever because their doctrines are different than yours and therefore what about you on judgment day when Yahweh says guess what your doctrines aren't right either; with what judgment you have judged, I guess I'll have to judge you, you said they were not believers and yet your own doctrines are wrong.
I think we're better off walking in mercy don't
you? The truth this, Yahweh knows those who are his, Yahweh knows and you may not know, you may think you know but you don't. Let everyone who names the name of the Messiah depart from iniquity, turn away, repent from iniquity.
So that Matthew 18 where you bring them before the
congregation needs to be some kind of sin that you know sin, they the sin, everybody knows the sin, you cannot do this and be a believer. You cannot practice this and be a believer and the person says well I'm just gonna keep doing it, you know the word says not to, yeah I know, well then you're not a believer because you know the word says not to and you choose to do it anyway. That's when you are no longer expressing the fruits of repentance and therefore you are not a believer. You don't divide over difference of understanding on some verse somewhere, that's not where you divide over. I mean we could literally divide over whether someone cooks on the Sabbath or doesn't cook on the Sabbath and someone could say, well, see, they're cooking on the Sabbath and, therefore, they're non-believer because they're not keeping Sabbath and therefore you know, sign is between Yahweh and his people you know, he's not must not be his people because the Sabbath is assigned between Yahweh and his people. He's not keeping the Sabbath, I once heard about an Amish church that split, they split over whether or not the bumper on your buggy could be crown.
The crown was flashy in worldly and if you want to
be one to be flashy and worldly then you're a friend of the world. If you're a friend of the world, you're an enemy with Yahweh and therefore you're not saved. You see where we can go with this, the truth is brothers and sisters you can find a scripture to condemn about everybody but you know what the truth is also that you could find as many scriptures as there are as Yahweh speaks against sin. And how he speaks against disobedience and violating his commandments. There are as many if not more scriptures that speak of his mercy, of his long-suffering, of his patience, of his willingness to guide us step by step, and yet we have everybody grumbling about everybody. We can't do that, do not grumble against one another, brethren, lest you be condemned: behold, the judge is standing at the door.
Yahushua receives the beatings and mockings and
spitting of the enemy, he says father forgive them
yet people of our faith, people in churches receive
a little bit of disrespect when someone lashes out like they've been slain, angry, finger-pointing. We need to live the way Yahushua taught us, serve
one another in love, give each other a certain
degree of liberty, not using liberty as the opportunity for the flesh but through love serving one another. Galatians 5:13; for all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; you shall love your neighbor as yourself. But if you bite and devour one another, beware lest you will be consumed one of another.
I say this, walk in the spirit, and you shall not
fulfill the lust of the flesh desire of the flesh. Desires of the flesh is to be recognized, to have men speaking well of you, desire of the flesh is to get your own way; we walk in the spirit, love, joy, peace, kindness, goodness, longsuffering, gentleness, faith, self-control.
Here's what we need to do, we need to realize we're
in a battle together against the enemy.
Every time we sin against our brother we're choosing
the way of Satan's kingdom, we're actually joining forces with him to destroy the brethren.
And the more division there is, the more he can
divide and conquer.
So would you be soldiers of Yahweh's army?
Imagine Yahweh's army going out to battle, ready to fight the enemy, and yet there are swords, cutting each other up, beating each other up, punching each other up, and no army that does that would survive.
Let's unite under the gospel, repentance and
faith in Yahushua that's where we will reunite in that spot right there. And be soldiers of Yahweh's army choosing righteousness, choosing love, choosing patience, choosing humble service. If we do that we will be strong, Yahushua will be the head of the army and that body of Messiah will not be punching itself in the gut every 5 minutes.
Yahweh would often throw his enemies in the
confusion during various wars and they'll be fighting each other. And too often I've seen people doing that, fighting each other. Let's be soldiers in Yahweh's army, lest let our character be that which we recognize where a person really becomes an unbeliever instead of inventing our doctrines and then saying they're not a believer based on those intentions. And for those who choose to be divisive, who choose to be sectarian, we need to divide from them.
Those who sow discord are an abomination to Yahweh.
Six things Yahweh hates: seven are an abomination to him. A proud look, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood. A heart that devises wicked plans, feet that are swift in running to evil. A false witness who speaks lies, and one who sows discord among brethren.
Serious words, serious, serious words, it's
dangerous to start dissension and discord. Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
If we will do this right here, fighting will come
to an end most of it. Let each of you look out not only for his own interest, but also for the interest of others.
It's easy to get prideful when we're correcting
somebody else because knowledge puffs up, but
love edifies.
So let's correct in love, and never forget we have also failed Yahweh, he pulled us out of a mere pit, didn't he? So for those we approach with the truth of what we
found in scripture, it's something you need to be
very careful and you keep in mind.
The people that you are coming to have been
trained in sectarian mindset in many cases, you're bringing them something that is very different than what they have been taught and they will and many times just automatically assume you're condemning them.
So it's important that you communicate, I am not
condemning, and I'm just sharing something I've learned. Because if they think you're condemning them, they're going to go back into their memory bank and say you know what I used to be a drug addict, I used to be a terrible person and you know what I changed my life, you're gonna tell me that was illegitimate? No, it wasn't illegitimate, Yahushua came into your life and he taught you his ways, and he cleansed you and purified you, filled you with the spirit, enabled you to walk in light. What I'm saying is my friend, my brother,
traditional Christianity has given us a perspective
that is not 100 percent correct according to scripture. There are some things they rejected that I don't believe they should have rejected, like observing the Sabbath on the seventh day or whatever else you're trying to share with them. Make sure you don't approach them the sectarian way of witnessing, very
important.
And they may approach you and say you're not saved because you don't have this, this, this, this, and this to which I would say this. Listen my friend, I have repented of everything I know is wrong to do, I've turned away from all things in which I have learned is wrong to do. I have not turned away from Messiah, he is my righteousness, I am utterly, completely deprived in going to hell apart from his righteousness being in me. I have repented of what I know was wrong. If you have something else you feel I need to change, I will listen to you, I may or may not accept what you say, but I will pray about it, and if I find that it's wrong according to scripture I am willing to change because I am a repentant person.
But the sectarianism denominationalism needs to
come to an end, it's one of the many lies that we have been handed down by our fathers. Let's walk away from it, let's embrace truth, accept people where they are and imitate the example of Yahushua. He didn't stand behind them with a whip; he doesn't stand behind us with a whip and drive us forward. He stands in front of us and say, hey follow my example. This is the way in which you should walk, walk in it. Let's pray, O father Yahweh in the name of Yahushua, thank you for your truth, the light in your word. Any of us who have chosen a sectarian way or witnessing a sectarian way of understanding where salvation really is, I pray father you would open their eyes to see the glorious truth of your work, and cease from being divisive, infectious and contentious.
Teach them to walk in love.
In the areas where I've done the same, I pray father you would correct me. I thank you for your glorious truth of your word, it is truly awesome, for truly yours is the kingdom and power and glory and majesty and all praise, honor and worship belongs to you, Yahweh Eloheinu, Yahweh our Mighty One, forever and ever, through and by your son Yahushua HaMashiach and for his sake we pray, Amein
