It’s High Time that we Hate Sin
07/22/17 (04/27) Video Broadcast
And we are ready to begin
our study portion for
today's broadcast.
And our study title today
is: It's high time that we
hate sin. I didn't say hate
people. I didn't say hate
everyone that sins. I'm just saying hate sin, and that's very important for us. You know sometimes it's easier to hate the sin another person is committing than it is to hate the sin that we find ourselves getting caught up in, you notice that? I have noticed it and so I'm not talking to you as one who has achieved and arrived at the level that I need to be. But I'm speaking today as your fellow brother who is looking at the Scriptures with you and trying to learn and apply them to the best of my understanding just like everybody else who is wanting to follow Yahushua. And so I wanna examine this need to hate evil, I think that it's because we don't despise the evil enough sometimes that we find ourselves getting caught up in it. And the Scriptures actually tell us let love be without hypocrisy.
Abhor what is evil; cling to what is good.
So we are going to let the good things be the things that we cling on to and the wrong things be the things that we abhor. I mean, we abhor something that means dislike it; have a horror of it. You have heard people that watch horror movies, we have a horror for sin, we hate sin, we dislike it, we abhor it, we want nothing to do with it. We hate it; we hate it. Now the two root words have to do with the kind of hatred that's so intense, you wanna be separated from it; you want to have nothing whatsoever to do with it. Psalms 36 verse 1-4 says an oracle within my heart concerning the transgression of the wicked: There is no fear of Elohim before his eyes. For he flatters himself in his own eyes, when he finds out his iniquity and when he hates. The words of his mouth are wickedness and deceit; He has ceased to be wise and to do good. He devises wickedness on his bed; he sets himself in a way that is not good. He does not abhor evil. If you do not hate the sin, if you do not take that stance of hatred towards sin eventually it could be very quickly cause you to heal to it.
Now a Hebrew word meaning to reject, to despise, to
refuse, so absolutely we despise sin. To despise is a pretty strong word. Generally, yes, pretty easy for us to despise certain kinds of evil particularly of the evils being done to us. You shouldn't, but sometimes we are likely to hate the evil a little bit less when it's us doing the wrong thing to another person that we don't know or care about. It might be easier to for someone to steal from say Wal-Mart than to steal from their best friend.
Either way, it's wrong and we should hate evil period regardless of who is the recipient of it. Now if we commit a sin we don't just sin against our brother, we also sin against Yahweh.
We don't just sin against our neighbor or our friend we also sin against Yahweh. And the evil that is done to Yahweh ought to bother us more than anyone else especially when we are the one committing it. Really no one is less deserving of evil being done to them than Yahweh, no one is more deserving of our love than Yahweh to whom we ought to love with all of our heart, all of our soul and all of our strength. Psalms 101 verse 2, I will behave wisely in a perfect way. O, when will you come to me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart. I will set nothing wicked before my eyes: I hate the work of those who fall away; it shall not cling to me. What shall cling to us? Let's back up a few slides and find out.
Clinging to what? His good, right? So you're either going to cling to what is good and be proactive and cling to what is good or when evil is in your presence you will find that evil clinging and cleaving to you. avid knew that the influence of evil, if
wickedness if it was before his eyes and he beheld it, he did not want that to cling to him. He said a perverse heart shall depart from me; I will know wickedness. I guess he learned the hard way, didn't he? Of the danger of setting things in front of his eyes, that could harm him, particularly his sin with Bathsheba. So he resolved he would not allow this wickedness
to be in his presence, in front of his eyes, he did not want the work of those who fell away to be in his presence. Now, one of the great ways this is violated is through the internet, through the television, through books, through movies, through things of that nature. And so when we allow wickedness to be set before our eyes one thing you gotta, you probably gonna see wickedness there. It's in order to bring it into your house and set it in front of you for entertainment. How can you not hate what you are watching, if what you are watching is evil? Psalms 97 verse 10 you who love Yahweh, hate evil.
How can we love what Yahweh hates?
He preserves the souls of his saints; he delivers them out of the hand of the wicked. You who love Yahweh he says hate evil, he didn't say hate everyone who does sin. He is saying hate the evil because the carnal mind is
enmity against Elohim, it is for it is not subject to the law of Elohim, not in deed can be.
Carnal mind is enmity against Elohim. Is the presence of evil in your household, the existence of an evil influence such as media and things like that causing you to perhaps be
desensitized to evil and leading you to have a carnal mind that is not subject to the law of Elohim? Important question. You see the strength of our love for Yahweh will also be the strength of our hatred for things that he hates. The strength of our love for Yahweh will be the strength of our hatred for sin. It was our sin that nailed the one we love Yahushua to a tree. I was sin and it is sin that hurts innocent children and destroys lives. It is sin that has corruption into this world; we need to be more than just sorry because of the consequences we have experienced of our sin. We must learn to hate the sin itself and what it is doing to this world we live in, that's true repentance. It's not until we have a holy hatred for our sin that we could effectively overcome it. It's not until we hate the evil, hate the things that we are, that are seeking to destroy us and utterly despise the things that we are addicted to that will fully overcome it. It's not until we hate the cigarettes, it's not until we hate the alcohol, it's not until we hate the porn, we hate the anger, we hate contention, we hate strife, we hate arguing, we hate the things that bind us that we will ever find true victory over them. Does that make sense?
Sure it's hard to overcome the things you love and not do the things you love. hen we hate strife, for instance, we hate strife and arguing we take steps to avoid it, it's when a mind is all too well connected to the flesh that we don't hate the sin as we should. You see the flesh wants its rights to do the things it wants and, if our mind is carnally minded, will insist on having our rights to behold and enjoy sin and, therefore, rather than focusing on our responsibilities as believers in Yahushua, we will be carnally demanding our rights to do what we want, to commit the sins we want to commit and we will not hate the sin. You see most of you listening to the broadcast are Americans, Americans like their freedoms and their rights. We enjoy the freedom of choice, but you know that freedom of choice comes the responsibility to with that choice, do what is right, to hate evil, to love what is good. Because a free country that does not hate evil is not a free country at all rather it is under the bondage of sin and death.
The early founders of our constitution even said:
"this system of government will only work if the people choose to do what is good". Liberty is only effective in a nation that chooses righteousness if a nation strays from righteousness the nation will collapse. You know the same is true, each of us as individuals we like to think of ourselves as free man especially in a moment of temptation we see the freedom of choice and because of that we are more inclined to just go ahead and take it as the enemy whispers in our head, just go ahead and do it, you are free you can do what you want, nobody should take that from you. e feel free to return to the pattern that we have known has caused us destruction before. We think that we will suffer no consequence or that Yahweh is somehow obligated to forgive us no matter what.
I'll be the one to break it to you, Yahweh isn't no vending machine, and up goes the paradigm comes a forgiveness you have to commit yourself to turning away from it. I'm not saying grace is not available; it's always available if we will resolve to repent and turn toward him. And we should not be seeing ourselves as free individuals anyway, really. You are always a slave, always a slave, in fact, no one is free. You are either a slave to sin or you are a slave to Elohim.
Which is your choice? Who will be your master? That's the question, who's going to be our master, will it be the sin, or will it be Elohim?
That, yes we do have the freedom to choose.
But now having been set free from sin and having become slaves of Elohim you have your fruit to holiness and in the end everlasting life.
We Americans like to think we have all the freedom, we are not slaves, we are not wait a minute we are, we are slaves of Elohim. We have been trained to not like the idea of an authority figure telling us what to do.
But if we love Yahweh and we hate evil we will enjoy learning from the creator and what he calls evil, what he calls good. As a slave of Elohim, I am willingly a servant of him
not because I'm like in somehow under some kind of bondage but I feel bound to do what I know is not harmful to him. I am bound to avoid that which would be harmful to him; a lot of us can understand it a little easier when it comes to loving one another see.
If you love children will you do things to hurt children? Will you punch them in the nose if you love them? Will you abuse them if you love them? Will you hurt them if you love them? Of course not and you see yourself as being bound around to a duty to not hurt the child because you love the child.
Likewise, we should feel bound to not choose sin because we know that, that hurts our heavenly father it grieves him. And therefore we should hate everything that grieves him, in fact, if you saw someone hurting a child you probably run over and try to stop them, knowing if they are in a help us condition.
But Yahweh I guess we kind of figure out he can take care of himself and maybe because he can take care of himself we don't really hate the sin as much as we ought to. But hurt is hurt, evil is evil, wrong is wrong. Another problem is we have our own ideas of what it means to love, our own ideas of what it means to love Yahweh. Perhaps we don't think Sabbath breaking is being evil, for instance, we might think that murder and rape and violence are told man those things are evil because of the way it affects us as man and women. We can relate to that because we are affected but are we connected enough to the spirit of the most high that we can actually learn to hate what he hates being done to him and such a way? That yes we even hate Sabbath breaking, maybe our mentality is that we think he's big enough again to take care of himself, maybe he is.
A part of loving him as loving when he loves and despising the things that contribute to his harm or the harm of his kingdom he's seeking to establish on the earth. Let's look at the Scripture again, you who loves Yahweh hate evil, he preserves the souls of his saints. He delivers them out of the hand of the wicked. He's trying to accomplish a kingdom here on the earth my brothers and my sisters he's trying to establish as we pray as part of our master's prayer, your kingdom come, your will be done on the earth as it is in heaven.
And we wouldn't want to see anything being done that would bring harm to what he's trying to accomplish because what he's trying to build on this earth today is a kingdom of love where everyone loves one another where everyone loves Yahweh our Father in heaven.
Yahweh has called us to be agents of justice for him on the earth. We are called the body of Messiah because we are called to be his arms, his feet caring for him in his ways Yahweh has charged us with executing righteousness and justice on the earth over which he has given us dominion. Psalms 149 verse 5 says let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud on their beds. Let the high praises of Elohim be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand.
Think about that Hallelujah praise Yahweh you've got the story in your hand, for what? To execute vengeance on the nations, and punishments on the people. To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron. To execute on them the written judgment: this honor has all his saints. Praise Yahweh. Now I understand the time this Psalms was written, was a time when Israel was a nation and Yahweh had given them the authority to execute the earthly judges, the earthly kings who were practising evil and ruling over a people with wickedness and he will send Israel's armies out to execute that vengeance on the nation to be his instrument of wrath on the people of wickedness and binding their kings with chains and nobles with fetters of iron. But you know something this scripture of sins chills up my spine because really Yahweh has charged us with the honour of creating justice and righteousness and we have a kingdom it's not a
kingdom of this present world. Yahushua the king will administer justice and righteousness when he returns when he destroys the wicked. But what I'm saying is and we will be a part of that, by the way. But what I'm saying is this we don't wrestle against flesh and blood, we wrestle against principalities and powers. David knew that he fought Goliath he says O, you come to me with a sword, and the spear: but I come to you in the name of the Yahweh of hosts.
He knew the battle is Yahweh's and strength is not an earthly strength. Strength is a heavenly strength and we have the power as believers in Yahushua to bind up the enemy with chains and fetters and tell him where to go. Yahushua did it he says you will trample on serpents and scorpions they will be under your feet.
We have a certain level of authority on this earth to physically, verbally address the spiritual realm and command them to depart. Now we have to understand the rules and guidelines behind that. If the person who is being attacked loves the sin so much they don't care to turn away from it he might be able to affect them for a short time and a likelihood you probably won't but you might, you might give them a little break but they are going to have to learn to hate the sin. nd hate the one who is tempting them to sin, do
we understand that? You've got to deal with the legal grounds, the reason why they are there but not of this. We can be strong in Yahweh in the power of his mind and we can put on the whole armour of Elohim that we may be able to withstand against the wiles devil for we do not wrestle against flesh and blood but against principalities, against powers, against rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in their heavenly places. That's what we wrestle against. It's like David said "the battle is Yahweh's" and since that's what we are really wrestling against all the more reason that hate the things they are promoting, sin. How can we as believers have any standing to tell
them what to do and defeat them if we happen to love the things they are promoting? Do we have any real legal standing to tell them what to do? Unless we first hate the things they are promoting, the things they are trying to advance, we got to
wrestle against them. We've got to put the whole armor of Elohim only then can we stand against the wiles of devil. hat's the whole armor of Elohim?
Guard your waist with truth, put on the brace plate of righteousness, shag your feet with a preparation of the good news of peace.
Above all taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery done to the wicked one when he comes against you because remember you don't wrestle against flesh and blood. And take the helmet of salvation. All these are defensive instruments of the army, they are all defense, right. And now offense, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of Elohim. This is like when he was tempted, it is written, it
is written he had the shield of faith but he said he had his real. he word of Elohim was his anchor, his strong tower
but remember what it also says Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to the sin with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints. What might happen if you are in spiritual battle, you begin praying for the saints? What would happen if you begin praying for believers, begin praying for other people? What might happen? Let's say if every time you tried, the enemy try to come against you and tempt you, you rejected him in faith and you said it is written whatever Scripture it is that speaks against the things he's tempting you with and then you begin praying for other people. e doesn't want you praying for other people he might just leave you alone at that point.
So listen this is what we are doing we are using the sword of the spirit the word of Yahweh to execute
Yahweh's vengeance on the spiritual leader of those nations and we combine them with kings with chains and nobles of iron. Yes, we bind you in the name of Yahushua Ha Mashiach and all your principalities for it is written. It is written. The word of Elohim is living, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. hat's what Yahushua did tempter came to him, he said, If you are the Son of Elohim, always attacking identity, command that these stones become bread. But he answered and said, it is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of Elohim. He use a sword of the spirit when he was attached with identity. Yahushua quickly drew his two edged sword and went on the offense, three times it happened until the devil fled from him, therefore, we say Elohim resisted devil because you hate the things he stands for and he will. I didn't say he might, I didn't say he will contemplate it; it says he will flee from you.
Submit to Elohim; submit to Elohim, resist the devil and he will flee from you, promise.
But you got to hate the sin before you even get to step one here before you even care enough to get rid of it and care enough to be about your father's business and reading this word of it. Until we hate the sin we may not take arms to fight against it, we just kind of love it too much. 2 Corinthians 10:3 for though we walk in the
flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal,
but mighty in Elohim for pulling down strongholds,
casting down arguments, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of Elohim, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of the Messiah. And being ready to punish all disobedience, when
your obedience is fulfilled. Think about this for a minute, should be that the very thoughts that exalt itself against the knowledge of Elohim and the wisdom of Elohim are intruders, they are intruders. Someone is coming into your house and they are wanting to steal, to kill and to destroy. The house is Yahweh's house. Your body is a temple of a spirit and he wants to come in and think he can just start tearing things down. No, I'm gonna take those thoughts captive, bring
every thought into captivity, grab a hold of them put them in a box and toss away with the garbage
because it dares to exalt itself against the knowledge of Elohim. How dare you enter the house of Elohim? Scram; get out of here in the name of Yahushua, for it is written. See, that's our war, that's the fight our minds are the battle ground and we need to know how to fight and need to know how to be victorious by faith and by wielding the sword of Elohim and by having that breastplate of righteousness that Yahushua gives us. We are not righteous ourselves but in the preparation of the gospel of peace, good news of peace and having our way skirted with truth.
O, you know, but we live in this Laodician world.
Where lukewarm is considered hot and cold is concidered lukewarm. Yahushua says I know your works; you are neither cold or hot. I could wish you were cold or hot so then because you are neither cold or hot, I will vomit you out of my mouth. Separate you from his body. We have to be on fire for Yahweh. But, no, too often we sit in our little climate
controlled homes and sit at ease and so on. He spoke a parable to them Luke 12:16 the ground of a certain rich man he yielded plentifully. And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do since I have no room to store my crops? So he said I will do this: I will pull down my barns, and build greater, and there I will store all my crops and my goods.
And I will say to my soul, Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease, eat, drink, and be merry. But Elohim said to him, fool, this night your soul will be required of you: then whose will those things be, which you have provided? So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward Elohim. First glance you might think he's actually condemning the idea of even having a retirement program or retirement system.
All the rich man had to do was take ease and store up treasure in the years to come. It's okay if you have a retirement program but make sure you are rich toward Elohim with it.
Honour Yahweh with your possessions so your barns will be filled with plenty. Right? One of Proverbs. But how hard it is for a rich man to enter into life. This man had no spiritual retirement program and he was content with the temporary wealth that is only found in this age and in short his lack of love for Yahweh and his lack of hatred for the sin that's in the world cause him to insulate himself from the evil with his riches and he thought he was set up. He had a pension plan in his mind and spent many years as a layer to sin having nothing, Yahweh called him a fool.
What is our life; it is a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away, that's it. And so if we gonna sit back like someone who is in the army reserves you know, O whenever they call me to duty I guess I'll go and fight but for now I'm gonna take it easy. What we gonna realize we are already on active duty
and he has charged us to go forth into the battle.
Don't think for a minute complaining about the evil in the world on your Facebook account is enough we are called to do something about it complaining is not enough.
It's often that hatred for evil that inspires people to action, years ago there was an Organisation called MADD (Mothers against Drunk Driving).
Those who experienced Fatherlessness as a result of a child being killed by a drunk driver, those who experienced I'm sorry I thought but Childlessness. Those who experienced a loss of a husband, those who experienced perhaps a loss of a father either way. When you experience some huge consequence as a result of some sin that's being committed by another person sometimes that moves you to action and you say I don't want this to happen to someone else what can I do to put a stop to it? Organisations are formed out of this kind of thing and people band together and they try to stop the evil maybe those who did experience Fatherlessness will join Big Brothers Big Sisters organisations those who were abused as children become counsellors and therapists coming face to face with evil often causes us to want to do something about it when we have felt the consequence of that or the
result of that. But listen we are Yahweh's people and you know what we are all called to do something about the sin in our world. There are no armchair believers, there are no retired believers, there is no cheer leading squad we are all in the war.
And when we hate the sin going on in the world, rather than being a commentator and talking about how bad everything is, why don't you get out of your easy chair and go do something about it? I'm not saying be motivated by bitterness. I'm not saying be motivated by hating another person. I'm saying we need to be motivated by a love for Yahweh and our love for our fellow man. It's because of our love for Yahweh and love for our fellow man we hate the evil that's being promoted. We hate the evil within ourselves and then the evil in this world and we can be passionate rather than complacent. And we will move with intensity and zeal instead of lethargy.
We move to action rather than just speaking words,
you that's a major reason David was a man after Yahweh's own heart. Because he hated the evil he didn't want it sitting in front of him he didn't want the stuff being promoted before his eyes. He hated the work of those who fall he didn't want anything to do with it. He says I will not even know wickedness, don't talk to me about it I don't wanna hear it. He couldn't stand to have a sin in front of him especially in his own house. How about you? How about me?
Listen if you hate evil you are not going enjoy a TV Show that glorifies it. If you hate evil you are not going to be entertained by the things that Yahweh hates. If we hate evil we are going to be aware of the tenancy that those sins cling to us and to the millions of other people who are watching it. f we hate evil we don't even want to learn about it. So what part of it completely different
system and we don't enjoy the things the world
enjoys. We don't care to know about their profane colloquialisms and their habits of unrighteousness. We don't want to be desensitized to evil; in fact, we want to be sensitive to the times perhaps when our heart could be arguing with the spirit of Yahweh within us. Maybe you can't find a scripture about something but you down deep there is something there that's foreign to the ways of Yahweh.
You know it down deep. Maybe you don't know a scripture for it right now, maybe you can't think of..., but you know you're arguing with Yahweh himself in your heart about it. Don't be desensitised to the evil to the extent that Satan would want you to be, but rather be sensitive to really what's going on in spiritual realm, to what's really happening to our hearts when we see the things we see and hear the things we hear and we become tormented like Lot when we see and hear the evil. You see the TV program is they know how to program that's why it's called programming. They know how to shove things in your face often enough, things that were initially shocking and violent--sinful, it literally disarms you and their goal was you no longer hate it, but soon
you'll embrace it, soon you'll find it acceptable. That's what happened to this nation's opinions regarding the homosexual movement. At one time, it was so ridiculous it was laughed at and it was so repulsive that people found it disgusting.
I recently read a study were head of a sexual man when they see two men kissing one another it gives them the same exact brain response as a person looking at a pile of maggots and rotting flesh same response in the brain. But over time people will become desensitized to it
to the extent that it trains you to not really hate this anymore; maybe you even sympathize with it and maybe even embrace it. You see when it comes to being influenced we tend to first marginalize the sin rather than despise it. And when it comes to marginalizing sin the media is probably enemy number one, the internet is probably enemy number one. There are unclean spirits flying out those televisions and computer screens injecting thoughts into your minds that are fundamentally at war with the most high. Listen, have you ever been with someone for an extended period of time, you certain things about the way they talk maybe they swear a lot, maybe its profanity? It's not long before those words start to influence you and pretty soon you start to develop some other habits even kinda talk a little bit like them or you know and maybe you haven't uttered a profane word in months or years or whatever and all of a sudden it comes out of you when you are angry, yeah influence, the power of influence. Because words are spirit John 6:63 what spirits are you listening to every day, are they spirits of life or spirits let unclean spirits of death. Yahushua said the words I speak are spirit and they are life so we must be aware that words are spirit and what spirit is coming into household man? You are a man, you are the elder at the gate your home is your world city. You decide what influences come in your home and what influences do not come in your home. Yahweh has charged you to be a watchman over the lives of your family members.
Be aware of what's going on and whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report and if there is any virtue, if there is anything praise worthy that's what we want to meditate on.
Ask yourself before you watch something before you read something before you get involved in something is this noble, just, pure, lovely of good report, of virtuous and praise worthy? Is it? Some people say, we know, Tom, the scriptures themselves they contain stories of people sinning and they tend to. Just talk about people committing murder and rape and terrible things, it does yes it does. Now there is a little difference between saying this sin happened and that sin happening right before your very eyes. It's a little different to say there was an adultery the other day than to say we are here watch these people commit adultery. I think it's a little different to say "there was a murder in town the other day", than show a video of a guy being murdered; you see it's quite different. When the scriptures tell us the stories of people sinning, the intent is to show the consequence of it. The intent is to teach us to not like the sin, Hollywood, on the other hand, uses their stories which glorifies a sinner and marginalize the sin and sometimes demonize those who stand against it. Tell you an experience I had a while back. You live in a country it's been times I haven't even gone to town for like two weeks, you know. And the only contact I have with believers and you know it's really in tune with more pure things than the things that are just and lovely and noble and praises worthy and the more disgusting and unjust and unlovely and ugly to things were. I wasn't really around that stuff and then I went to town, I was like Oh, culture shock here, you know? I have had this experience also at the Feasts, the Feasts of Tabernacles and still was talking to a brother you know he been, he had been going to town most of the week. And finally went to town, walked into a Dollar General, he's like Oh yeah this place is world again. It's like you are in a different world and you go back, here's the old yuck again. I'm not saying you can't live in the world; you do have to live in the world.
I'm not calling everybody to separate themselves completely from the world, we have to be in the world
but we have to be on guard and not allow ourselves to be stained by it. Pure and undefiled religion before Elohim and the Father is this, To visit the orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself
unspotted (that means unstained) from the world. Okay yeah, you might end up you know being out there you might see something you didn't wanna see. You don't have to let it influence you and you should know how to bring into your house.
Adulterers and adulteresses, don't you know friendship with the world is enmity with Elohim? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of Elohim. So how do we manage to hate the sin the way we ought to? Recognise it, if I want to be a friend of the world I am an enemy of Elohim.
And I need to be filled with the holy spirit, I need to be filled with the words of Yahweh in order for me to successfully have a right perspective on what I'm seeing in this world I live in. Psalms 119 verse 104, through your precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way.
I hate every false way, why? Through your precepts I get understanding and because I understand now what sin has done to this planet I live in, I hate everything that's false and wrong. Psalms 119:162 I rejoice at your word, as one who finds great treasure. I hate and abhor lying: but I love your law.
Filling our hearts with his word will teach us how to interpret the things going on in the world today and our meditation on Yahweh's truth will cause us to begin more and more to have a right perspective on what's going on the world and will find ourselves rejoicing in the good things. Psalms 111 says blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of Yahweh, and in his law, he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth fruit in its season; whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does (Whatever he does) shall prosper. How's that for a promise? Wow, he means Yahweh will cause whatever my hand finds to do to be prosperous. That's pretty awesome if your delight is in the law of Yahweh and in his law, you meditate day and night, only then what the thing you want to do something, you want to be prosperous? Yahweh is gonna lead you there and everything you do is going to follow them the guidelines and parameters that Yahweh has established in his word. And you are not going to enjoy the counsel of the wicked, you certainly don't wanna be in their path or even sit in their seat. Instead, you want the counsel of Yahweh to be in his path, to be seen at the right hand of Elohim.
Yahweh's word which is truth will expose every lie, every wicked thing the enemy tries to send our way and when we are in fellowship with Yahweh's people and in contact with the people who will encourage us and build us up and edify us and strengthen us and bare the law with us and be an example to us, that's even better. And the more we meditate on the word of Yahweh the more we have our eyes opened to what's going on and not be deceived and the more we want to do something about the world and the evil is involved in. And so in their midst of the evil around if our meditation day and night are on the words of the most high Yahweh Elohim that out meditation will be on appearing in righteous things. Will be immersed in his spirit which is life and peace? We will find a sinful thought to be a foreign intruder for what it is that needs to be taken captive and cast out and Yahweh says we will prosper like a tree planted by the water because we will continually even in times of drought have water in our roots. And that's where we need to be, we need to be well-fed trees, well-watered trees. It's one of the advantages of keeping the Sabbath day. If our souls get pummeled by the world during the work week we have a day or weekend, rest not only physically but spiritually. We can regroup, refocused and be restored again. You ever wondered why Christians who encounter conversion experiences often times they will follow up, don't follow through. I have read articles written by evangelists lamenting that most of them who get saved don't stay that way. What if they were taught to observe the Sabbath?
This will be one day out of the week, it becomes a habit, it becomes ingrained into your normal routine just like for me the thought of not keeping the Sabbath is so foreign to me. I'll tell you, a few weeks ago, it was on a Sabbath and my daughter I thought has some kind of major thing going on with her and we took her to a hospital. Let me tell you something driving around looking at people going on the Sabbath you know and they are all in their cars and they are in their lawn and doing all the normal things and I honestly was offended. Yahweh made this world what are you doing? You know I wasn't being judgemental it was like I walk into a foreign country somewhere and all these people were doing strange things I'm not used to seeing on the Sabbath day. Going in the stores and buying things that they buy and that's how ingrained 28 years of
keeping the Sabbath has become and so that's what
I mean and so becomes a part of your make up as a person and normal thing as a person. I once heard of a brother who actually commits adultery, he fell away and then came to Sabbath he just felt like he had to keep it he was ready to drop the faith altogether and then he went to a restaurant and it wasn't on a Sabbath but he there. And he had to ask about the ingredients to make sure that there is no pork in it. And the lady goes why, why do you ask that question? He's like wow! I don't want any pork. Why is that? Tell me more about that. It became a witnessing opportunity and the man actually was brought back and of the faith through experience. Because we have a lifestyle we live, we have a way of life that we live it becomes a part of us and helps us maintain consistency over a long period of time and so we got this one day a week where we take a break from the world, turn off distractions, tune out the world Shabbat Shalom right? And focus on the spiritual things and not just two hours in a church and then you go off and do what you want. But a full day. Yahweh has setup a part for rest physically and spiritually and I can tell you if it wasn't for the Sabbath I don't think I would be a believer today and more likely because many times I'm just like the world had me down and I don't know what I would have done. But I know this as I have kept the Sabbath, the Sabbath has kept me that's the truth. I regain his perspective on life and I have that time to be filled with his perspective and the more I find sin to be apparent and the enemy rather than a friend. And I'm reminded of the temporary nature of this world and if we have fellowship of some kind somehow, somewhere online, telephone something hopefully locally ideally you can connect with other brothers and sisters to keep you on the straight nail. And we need good fellowship, but I tell you what most of your friends are those who do not fear Elohim. If most of your friends or even one of your friends close friends does not have the fear of Elohim and true and genuine relationship with you might have a difficulty seeing sin for what it is because it's deceptive that guy over there he's a nice guy, he's a nice guy but you know he doesn't believe, he's not a believer. But he's a nice guy, now pardon me a minute how can
someone who disregards and offends the one who created him and put him on the earth be a nice guy? Now he might be nice to you, he might give you shirt of his back in times of trouble but is he nice to Yahweh? I'm not trying to sound judgmental and harsh, look at things objectively from a heavenly perspective. How does Yahweh view you nice guy?
Someone he's trying to love but your nice guy friend is rejecting him. You know scripture says do not be deceived evil company corrupts good habits. And that's part of the problem we have a tendency to look at people through the eyes of our culture, through the eyes of the world rather than through the eyes of Yahweh and if we are not careful we can be affected by their conduct. Proverbs 13:20 He who walks with wise men will be wise: but the companion of fools will be destroyed. And that one reason we need to keep our children out of public schools if they are vulnerable especially when they are alone they are very vulnerable. Yahushua always sent his disciples out in two's not to mention the indoctrination they are going to get while there are there, you are aware of that?
And perhaps the desensitization of evil because some of their nice friends are also people who do not fear Elohim and so on the one hand, it's a difficult thing. It is a difficult thing. If you are a single mom, my heart goes out to you. Maybe you have no way of really home schooling very easily or something because you have to work and stuff. Work-at-home jobs, live ops, look for live ops. It is a good way of doing it. But what we are looking at here is a paradox in our own world in a sense that how do you hate the sin but not hate the one committing it?
It's not easy sometimes, it's hard to balance that sometimes, I don't mean it's hard to refrain from hating a person what I'm saying is you want to be able to hate the sin they are doing without communicating to them that you hate them. Because that's not even what you mean. Scripture says 1 Corinthians 5:9 I wrote to you my epistle not to keep company with sexual immoral people. Yet I certainly did not mean what the sexual immoral people of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; since then you were deemed to go out of the world. He's not saying you gotta avoid everybody out there, otherwise, you just have to go at some corner of the globe hide under a rock somewhere or a cave and live as a harmony. It's not what he's advocating. Yahushua visited the centers for the purposes of reaching them, he wasn't afraid to rub shoulders with them from time to time because the sick need a physician but you know his normal daily fellowship was with his disciples and he would often go off by himself to some mountain somewhere and pray. And his mission was to destroy the works of the devil without being stained by them and that's our mission. Hear the phrase hate the sin but love the sender? But you know what it's also possible to love the sinner so much that you don't really hate the sin they are doing. What I mean say the homosexual or the fornicator or the alcoholic or the abuser of drugs or they can act really nice to you, they can be friendly maybe even get to the pore or give you the shoulder of their back. But you know seem to care about people, what if probably the guy who gets you out of a jam if you are in trouble and for that reason you might tend to marginalize his sin in some way. And question how can someone who acts so nice possibly be on their way to hell?
Maybe if they even pray and talk of Yahweh often and act as if they are very much in love with our Father in heaven. But then you see there are some things they are doing doesn't line up. Let's continue reading 1 Corinthians 5. Now I have written to you not to keep company, with anyone named a brother who is sexually immoral, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; not even to eat with such a person.
Don't even eat with him. Wow, that's something else. The worldly people, hey, you gotta reach them. But one claiming to be brothers and sisters claiming to be believers but they are doing these things, don't even eat with them, don't keep company with them, don't even eat with them. For what have I to do with judging those who are on the outside? Do not judge those who are inside we can't judge one another but those on the outside Elohim he judges though. Therefore the tall principle here put away from yourselves the evil person who is practicing these things. This is a normal unrepentant part of their character. Yahushua said even the sinners love
those who love them, you know that?
You know that sinners can be loving to each other,
don't let that take the edge of your hatred for what the sin they are doing. This is how homosexuality became to be accepted in our culture today. I watched the local newspaper get bought out by a liberal corporation. It was a conservative newspaper in Springfield, Missouri called the Newsleader. It was bought out by a corporation and all of a
sudden they hired a more liberal Editor of the newspaper. He began to write editorials, like giving the poor plight of homosexuals and how they are mistreated and they are giving to the poor and they are good things and yet people are mistreating them and began to create very sympathetic articles regarding their plight. And then we see television shows where there's one of the characters as a homosexual person and they a fun they are funny and they are seen to be nice other than the fact that they are homosexuals and pretty soon people go you know they are not so bad. I mean that's disgusting what they do in their private life is their own thing they are not so bad and by that kind of take the edge of our dislike for the sin that's being committed. Listen to me I'm not saying you need to mistreat homosexuals, I'm not saying that it was wrong for them to be mistreated. It will be wrong for one to mistreat a drunkard, It will be wrong for one to mistreat one who commits fornication but we need to understand we can't let
that take the edge of our dislike and our hatred for the sin they happen to be been caught up in. We can't take the world upside down if we are allowing them to turn up the other way round. We can't be lights to the world is content to sit in the darkness from time to time we must hate the darkness, hate the evil, hate the lies, hate the sin, hate the way the world is today and seek to establish justice. Seek good and not evil that you may live, so Yahweh Elohim of hosts will be with you as you have spoken. Hate evil, love good, establish justice in the gate as you sit in the gate of your world city man establish justice with love and maybe that Yahweh
Elohim of hosts will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph. aybe he will spare you from the hour of trial that comes upon the world.
But you can't hate evil and love the world. you can't love the world and Yahweh at the same time. Do not love the world 1 John 2:15 All the things in the world, don't love it.
If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world passing away, and the lust of it: but he who does the will of Elohim abides for ever.
Our goal is to establish righteousness and justice. If you really love the sinner you gonna hate sin, what sin is doing to them. If you really love the sinner you are going to hate what sin is doing to them. You are going to despise that which brings him harm, that leads him to hell. And you'll seek to do everything you can to deliver him from that and show him how that is harming him and others. Does it mean you grab him by the neck, what are you doing? No, listen we are fishermen there is two ways of fishing, there is the net method, right go out and catch a fish and hopefully, they enter the net. And that's why I like this term internet, I use the internet to cause people to enter the net and be brought in by the Messiah as his fishermen and he will clean the fish hopefully and the ones that are good will keep and the ones that are not so good will toss back out. Only the clean fish are the ones we are going to bring in right? And so they enter the net and then there is the bait method you have the hook there and you got the bait on the hook and you just wait. And you wait for a fish to come along and able and you real him in. The bait method is what we use for people who are close to us, relatives, close friends. The net method is more for evangelistic effort and the bait method requires patience. And you have your life out there and you are showing them, love,, you are showing them compassion, you are showing them that you are a person who cares about there and then, they want to know what is this
that you have and you are able to share with them with meekness and fear and compassion because the truth is we ourselves also were once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another. But when the kindness and love of Elohim our Savior told man appeared not by works of righteousness what we have done but according to his mercy, he saved us through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the holy spirit. Titus 3 verses 3-5 So at the same time we know with compassion we have been there, we've been there
but we don't wanna marginalise or condone what they are doing, you don't smile at it, we don't minimise it, we don't enjoy hearing about it and we certainly don't want to be participating in it. In fact, we are at war with it and if you don't hate sin you probably gonna hate the ones that do. To tell the truth, I mean often times just someone's mere presence of light around one who is in darkness causes them to be quiet squeamish and to avoid you.
And so there gonna be people who can't stand to be around you, to them the bait that you are offering but a starch it's not good food.
But you know if you hate sin you probably aren't listening to this broadcast right now. If you don't hate sin you probably not interested in hating it right? So I'm talking to you, I want you to know you are the fragrance of Messiah and that bait you are hanging out there is a fragrance. And some people will be attracted by it and some people just won't. 2 Corinthians 2:14-17, Now thanks be to Elohim, who always leads us to triumph in Messiah, and through us diffuses the fragrance of his knowledge and every place. For we are to Elohim the fragrance of Messiah, among those who are being saved, among those who are perishing. To the one where you are the aroma of death leading to death, and to the other the aroma of life leading to life. Who is sufficient for these things? It's really something else, there is a percentage of people who will absolutely hate you and you haven't shown one bit of hatred toward them
and you are wondering did I say something, did I do something, did I ever have a look of disgust on my face when I saw something they were doing? And seem judgmental what was it?
Why do they hate me so much? I wasn't trying to exhibit hate toward them, it's a delicate balance being around people who are not believers and witnessing the things that they are doing. It's hard not to just cringe and show a little bit of that on your face. But you can look at them and say you know what I was once myself, I don't want to say anything to marginalize, I don't want to take away my hatred for it but I understand why they are doing what they are doing and I hope one day they will turn away from it. Sometimes there is nothing you can do they are just gonna hate your guts because you hate the sin you don't want the sin in your life and so Yahushua says listen if the world hates you, you know they hated me before they hated you. If you are of the world the world will love it's own, but because you are not of the world but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. He said, Well, guess what? You are blessed, Blessed are you when men hate you, and when they exclude you and revile you and cast your name out as evil, for the Son of Man sake. Rejoice in that day and leap for joy for indeed your reward is great in heaven. For in like manner did their fathers to the prophets. So there are some unbelievers who are down right hostile toward the ways of Elohim and they will never repent, no matter what you do or say. They have passed that point of no return, they have committed the blaspheming of the holy spirit and there is no way they can possibly be redeemed. Who are they? We don't always know, I try to always take the position that Yahweh might choose some point in their walk to really turn them around. I'm seeing some really hateful people completely turn around within there are people who are unregenerate. There are people who because of the choices they have chosen to make of their own free will ultimately become a kind of people that are just created to be destroyed and they are completely unregenerate and they hate everything that you are about. The unjust man is abomination to righteous, and he was upright in a way is an abomination to the wicked And Psalms 139 verse 21 David said Do not
I hate them, O Yahweh, who hate you? and do I not love those who rise up against you? I hate them with a perfect hatred: I count them, my enemies. Now how does this line up with hate the sin love the sinner? I believe David is speaking by the spirit of Yahweh knew they were, unrepentent men and who they were. And, yes, it is safe to hate the unrepentent who will never repent the problem is unless Yahweh reveals to you by his spirit this man will never repent and it's a 100% from him and you know what's from him.
It's hard to really judge so for me I don't go down the road of hating someone for any reason I tend to probably hang on longer than a lot of people do. Sometimes to my own peril, people who know me personally know that. But there are people who pass a point of no return and only Yahweh can reveal it, but David recognized their existence. So did Peter. There were some that just like natural brute beast for man to be caught and destroyed and they speak evil things they don't understand and will perish for your own corruption. But be careful, be careful Yahweh has been known to save some really awful sinners and completely turn their life around and I'm one of them. But there is one enemy we need to always be aware of and hate and that enemy is the sin seeking to rise up within us.
Paul speaks about them Romans 7:14 We know the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. For what I'm doing I do not understand: for what I will, to do that I don't practice; but what I hate, that do I. If I then do what I will not to do, I agree the law it is good. But now it's no longer how you do it but sin dwelling in me. For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) nothing good dwells: for to will is present with me; but how to perform what is good I do not find. For the good that I will to do: I do not do and the evil I will not to do, that I practice. Now if I do what I will not to do, it's no longer I who do it, but sin that dwelling in me. I find then this law, evil is present with me, the one who wills to do good. For I delight in the law of Elohim according to the inward man. But I see this other law in my members, warring against the law of my mind (this is the law of the enemy right here), bringing me into captivity to law of sin. That law of sin is when I want to do good evil is present with me. O wretched man that I am! who will deliver me from this body of death?
Here is the answer I thank Elohim through Yahushua Messiah our Master. So then with the mind, I myself serve the law of Elohim, but with the flesh the law of sin. Therefore, there is now no condemnation to those who in Messiah Yahushua who do not walk according to the flesh not according to the spirit. Why because we are dead Yahushua is the one who delivers us from those things we hate again we ask to hate it, we have to hate it first for you recognize and need to be delivered from it. Flesh love the things that are evil and feeds on it so we must hate the evil within ourselves first without becoming bitter toward ourselves to the extent that we lose our identity in Messiah. So yes hate the sin hate it with a passion but don't get bitter at yourself or somebody else before having committed it. Begin to hate yourself you can't, you are not loving the one Yahweh loves, I can see despising yourself for what you have done for a period of time but holding on to it. Listen if you don't love yourself you have no reference point on how to love anybody else because the Scripture says love your neighbor as yourself. If we begin to hate ourselves we will not see ourselves as being loved by Yahweh and we may end up believing another gospel another good news. It teaches you gotta be good enough before he will save you and that's dangerous. So in your hatred of sin be on guard know you don't have to hate yourself and think that you gotta reach a certain point of righteousness before he will accept you as one being worthy of having Yahushua's blood covering you. See look some people think their sin is just too bad for Yahushua's blood to come along and cleanse them from that but that's a different gospel Yahushua is waiting for you to completely stop this mentality that he has some marks he's not willing to erase. Another gospel teaches that Yahushua is too weak to overcome a certain sinner, a certain addiction, that you are bound by and he really doesn't heal the broken hearts and bind up the wounds. The truth is that he does, he gives us the freedom not just freedom from sin but freedom from the power
that sin has over us. There is no addiction that Yahushua cannot defeat. He can defeat every addiction and give you true freedom, true freedom as I have heard it said is not the ability to live however you want. True freedom is the power to live as you ought. The true good news is if you consistently hate that sin and you start with that hatred of sin and you want to be delivered from it Yahushua can do it. How does he do it? Romans 6:11, Likewise you also reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to Elohim the Messiah our Master. Yahushua our Master, therefore, do not let sin reign in immortal body, that you should obey in its lusts thereof. And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin: but present yourselves to Elohim, as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to Elohim. For sin shall not have dominion over you: you are not under the law (meaning you are not under the power of the law to condemn you) but under grace. You do not have a law condemning you if you are under grace and since you are under grace don't let the transgression of Yahweh's law take you over because you are dead to it. Being under the law does not mean you can now sin or you won't, what it's saying if you are not under the law it means you are not under condemnation and because you are not under condemnation you have Yahushua living in you those instruments that members that you have is your body is now his body and therefore you are dead Messiah is alive in you and you have victory over sin. If we say we have no sin we deceive ourselves the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Can we learn to hate the sin enough? that we don't want any part of it in our lives we confess it. We confess it. Do we hate the sin enough that we want to be free from it? Do we hate the sin enough to get off our easy chairs and be agents to rid this world of it? Do we hate the sin enough that we hurt when another member of the body of Messiah is hurt by it? Do we hate the sin enough that we see it how Yahweh sees it and it grieves us even as it grieves him?
Are we too connected to our flesh for it to bother us? We are not affected. Are we so connected to Yahweh's spirit that it hurts us to see a person speaking against Yahweh and doing the things that he finds offensive?
Is our relationship with Messiah and Yahweh deep enough it really bothers us when we see others doing the things that bother him? Is our relationship with Messiah and Yahweh deep and connected to the extent we cry out for freedom from the things we tend to get into that are grievous to him? And that's the bottom line question I have for myself and for you my brothers and sisters. If our relationship with Yahweh is not where it needs to be it can change. We can start listening to him more and more by reading the scriptures, by hearing it. And the more we get to know him the more we are gonna love him. The more we gonna love who he is and what he's about. And the more we listen to him the more we will see the world as he sees the world and the more we will see sin as he sees sin and we recognize that sin and evil are simply manifestations of hatred toward the most loving being in the Universe. Nothing more nothing less.
Yahweh is love and he is all about love, sin is never loved. There isn't a sin we commit that isn't a manifestation of hatred toward the most high and toward our fellow men. On the two great commands love Yahweh and love your neighbor hangs all the law on the Proverbs. And so as we learn more of Yahweh and his ways of loving this world. And in his word we gonna find out he's really easy to love, Yahweh is really easy to love he's lovable. We will find out how easy it is to love him because he's being so loving and merciful to us and the more we get to know him the easier it is to love him and what he's about. And so brothers and sisters my call today is to hate the sin and all these things I'm saying about hatred towards sin is really a call to love Yahweh and love men. You who love Yahweh hate evil Psalms 97 verse 10
cannot be any other way let's pray.
O Father Yahweh in the name Yahushua HaMashiach,
Kadosh Kadosh be your great name. You are so awesome, your word is so awesome, your
ways are so awesome and your kingdom is so awesome and will be so awesome. Establish O father your kingdom in our hearts on this planet that your will be made known. let us be your spokespeople your voice to
the people of this lost and dying world.
Father feed us with your mana, your daily bread,
spiritually and forgive us Father Yahweh for not hating the things that keep us from you. Forgive us for not despising that which harms you and grieves you. Forgive us for enjoying, for entertainment purposes the things that you find offensive. We want to love what you love, we want to not love the things that you don't love, we want to be so in tune with you and your word, you and your presence that we balk at the idea of loving anything that you hate. Forgive us for any areas that we have done thus, Father, and please help us to show compassion and forgiveness to those who are not serving you; who do things that are hateful toward you and help us to show the love of Messiah Yahushua our Master to them in spite of our hatred for the things that they are doing. Teach us to walk that delicate balance understanding and communicating your love for them, finding the things that they do to be everybody is repulsive as you do. We long for your kingdom to be established here for Yahushua's reign to be on the earth. Let his reign be through us right now. Let us reign over sin. By the power of Yahushua in us, deliver us from every plan and power of the enemy for we know and we are sure yours is the kingdom and power and glory and Majesty and all praise, honor, and worship belongs to you Yahweh Elohim, Yahweh our Mighty One, forever and ever. In Yahushua's great name we pray. Amein.
everyone that sins.
Amein.
