Walking in the Spirit IS Keeping the Torah - Study

We're gonna dig into the word once more, as we examine a common notion that is believed today, which I'm going to challenge. The common notion today that we often hear from believers in Yahushua the Messiah is that those of us who are trying to keep things like Sabbath and the Feast days and the clean and the unclean and things like that, that we are actually walking in old fleshly stuff and now they are walking in the spirit and it's commonly held that you know, the old days of keeping the law is over and the new days of walking in the spirit has now come. And we don't need those old laws anymore because now we have the spirit. And since we have the spirit then we don't need someone telling us or some law to say you know "don't do this" or " do this over here". Because the spirit reveals that to us and we don't need some to come along and correct us and tell us the right thing to do. And that's the common notion that we might hear today from those who disagree with our position, that we should keep and observe Yahweh's law. So today's study topic is entitled' Walking in the spirit is observing the Torah. Now the Torah is the first five books of the Bible, Genesis to Deuteronomy. It's commonly translated "Law", I don't believe the word, "Torah" even means" law'. Actually, the more correct meaning would be "teaching and instruction". So, in light of that, those who say "we do not have to observe Yahweh's instruction". I mean it does sound a little different doesn't it than observing the law? So, now I realize maybe it may seem like a bold claim and it may challenge you know some of you today who perhaps think that you know you're in a higher position, that ever needing any kind of a law or any kind of a commandment because now you have the spirit. But what I'm going to share today is really that they are one and the same. I'm gonna prove to you from the scripture that they are one and the same. Because often I hear things like "I don't have to keep the law, I walk in the spirit. We walk in the spirit now not the law. There used to be a time when people you know they didn't have the spirit so they had to walk according to the law. But now we have the law in our hearts and so we walk in the spirit not those old carnal commandments. And they'll say things like, "Oh you walk in the law and legalism of the Old Testament but we are a New Testament church and we walk in the spirit". How many of you out there have heard those kinds of comments before? I certainly have. Now the word that's translated "spirit" in our language comes from the Hebrew word, "ruach". And it says by resemblance breath or wind. Kind of interesting that the word ruach is carrying this kind of a connotation. When you think of spirit, most of us probably do not think of things like breath or wind. But that is the meaning of it. Now, with our breath we speak, we need our breath in order for us to be able to communicate verbally with one another. And so the word "ruach" has to do with this movement of air, whether it be through our windpipe producing sound or the wind of the earth. That's the actual literal meaning. Now, I'll explain more as to why there is a connection here between the two. But first, I want to start with the book of Romans in chapter 8 and show you an example of one advantage of walking in the spirit. In Romans chapter 8 verses 1 it says this, it says, "Now there is, therefore, no condemnation to those who are in Messiah Yahushua who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the spirit". So, whatever it means to walk according to the spirit, just taking a completely objective point of view, we do see here that when one is walking according to the spirit they're in pretty good shape. Because for those who walk according to the spirit there is no condemnation as long as they are in Messiah Yahushua. Sounds pretty key, sounds like a pretty important thing we need to understand as far as what it means to walk according to the spirit. Now, a promise is given, an awesome promise of no condemnation. So, this is a deciding factor as to whether or not we're even gonna be saved. Whether we choose to walk according to the spirit. Many people are claiming today to walk in the spirit. And they'll say that they have visions and maybe prophecies and sometimes I notice their visions and prophecies aren't particularly bold. They'll just say some kind of generic thing so in case you know their vision or prophecy is wrong you know, they can't be too bold about it and too frank about it. So, they kind of do generic things. And they claim to be walking after the spirit. Now, I must say that they all are not walking according to the spirit. But I am convinced that there are some people who are confusing two things. They are confusing walking after Yahweh's spirit with walking after their own spirit. In Ezekiel 13 verse 2 says, Son of man prophesy against the prophets of Israel who prophesy and say to those who prophesy out of their own heart, " hear the word of Yahweh, thus says the master Yahweh woe to the foolish prophets who follow their own spirit". Their own spirit, "and have seen nothing". So you know we certainly have precedence or people who would, at least claiming to be prophesying. And I do see this sometimes in the more charismatic environments, more of a Pentecostal type of an environment and a church. You know people who are speaking various prophecies and things. And you know they are not necessarily walking according to or following after Yahweh's spirit. They might just be following their own spirit. I'm not saying that they are all following their own spirit, but a word of caution for all of us. It's quite possible that some of them are and they are just trying to impress and get people to do the things that they want them to do. So, beware of that. And sometimes you know these people will be very boastful and they'll act as if they are above you and you know they are walking in the spirit and you're down there somewhere in a lower plane spiritually. And you just dint understand because you have not reached their level. Or maybe one day you know if you listen to them, you'll come close to their level but for now, they might say rather patronizingly, " Oh, you just wouldn't understand yet because our have yet to walk in the spirit like they are". And you know you have to seek after the spiritual things. And when you quote scripture sometimes, they say, "Well, what you're saying is not really according to the actual scriptures". And they'll say, "Well, we're above that, we're in the spirit. You see and you look after the written code but we're after the spiritual things" As if to say that Yahweh's spirit, what he inspired before in the holy word would somehow be different possibly than what he inspires through us now. If it's any different I dare say, the holy scriptures are what I'd want to go with. I don't trust somebody telling me to disobey the word of Yahweh, especially if their attitude is somewhat prideful, you know that they have the spirit, you know. And what I'm actually seeing a lot of times is a "haughty Spirit "and scripture talks about Proverbs 16 verse 18 pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall. So, the haughty spirit results in a fall and the pride is downright destruction. So, a haughty spirit is pretty bad but pride is even worse, right? Better to be of a humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud. And so I've noticed, just my observation over the last 27 years of being a believer that you see its people who are prideful in this manner and they act they are above you spiritually because they have the spirit or whatever and they sometimes get caught up in some of the worst sins. And maybe that's the haughty spirit resulting in some kind of a fall. But what if we decide we're not gonna follow our own spirit? What if we decide we don't really want to follow a haughty spirit? And instead we want to have a humble spirit, a spirit of meekness and seek to follow Yahweh's spirit and then we would see a very beautiful promise. In Galatians 5:16 I say then walk in the spirit and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. So, walk in the spirit and you will not be one who is fulfilling the lusts of the flesh. A beautiful, great promise, we only need to walk in the spirit of Yahweh and the temptations and lusts that the flesh would otherwise cause us to fall into we will not fall prey to it. If we walk in the spirit. So, walking in the spirit, what does it tell us? What it informing us? It's the opposite of fulfilling the lust and desires of the flesh, it's the very opposite. There is the spirit on one side and there is the lust of the flesh on the other side. And so walking in the spirit cannot have anything to do with fulfilling lusts of the flesh, walking in the spirit is the very opposite of that, it starves out the flesh. The flesh that is our carnal nature will essentially die of starvation because we're walking in the spirit. Now, one of the fruits of the spirit is Galatians 5: 22, the fruit of the spirit is love. Love, beautiful word, we all like that word. Love is a wonderful thing. You are having a rough time, wonder what to do with your life, how you're gonna endure the next few weeks or few days... Remember love always wins and that it will win in the end. So, we have hope. But we see here that one of the fruits of the spirit is love. Now, let's look at the context here that we add to our list; Walking in love is walking in the spirit. Beautiful word, beautiful concept. Galatians 5: 13 says for, you brethren have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this you shall love your neighbor as yourself. But if you bite and devour one another beware lest you be consumed by one another. I say then walk in the spirit and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. Very beautiful concepts here. So we are called to walk in love, we're granted liberty but we don't use that liberty as an opportunity or an outlet for walking in the flesh. Walking in the spirit--it's gonna result in us loving one another. Now, notice here in verse 14 a very interesting concept here, it says, "all the law is fulfilled in one word even in this, you shall love your neighbor as yourself". All the law is fulfilled in one word, so if you want to walk in the spirit you're going to love, right? And if you're going to walk in love, then what you're doing is you're fulfilling the law. Fulfilling the law because the law tells you to love your neighbor as yourself. Leviticus chapter 19 tells you, love your neighbor as yourself. And so if we were to love our neighbor as yourself, we would be fulfilling the law, right? Sounds perfectly logical. And since you will be fulfilling the law, you will be walking in love, you will also be walking in the spirit, right? So not only Yahushua fulfills the law, we are also supposed to fulfill the law as ones who have Yahushua the Messiah living in us, makes sense. Another verse Romans 13 verse 8 say, owe no one anything except to love one another for he who loves another has fulfilled the law. So for me to say I want you to fulfill the law and I want you to love everyone, it's one and the same. There is no difference between the two. He who loves another has fulfilled the law if I say "go, love, another person". There would be no difference between that and saying, "go fulfill the law". So not only does Yahushua fulfill the law and he does fulfill the law, he has fulfilled the law because he loved us 100% and he loved our heavenly father 100%. But we also because Yahushua lives in us should be people who are willing to fulfill law or to love. Continuing on here, verse 9 for the commandment you shall not commit adultery, you shall not murder, you shall not steal, you shall not bear false witness, and you shall not covet and if there is any other commandment are all summed up in this. Saying, " you shall love your neighbor as yourself'. Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law. Very clear, nothing confusing at all. So Yahushua walking in perfect love fulfilled the law and that's why he fulfilled the law. He didn't fulfill the law so that we wouldn't have to or we wouldn't be asked to do it. He didn't fulfill the law so that he could stand on the sides so we don't have to bother fulfilling it. He fulfilled the law as an example of how to live an example that we ourselves are called to follow. And that's why it says in Matthew 22 verses 36 through 40 it says, Yahushua was asked, "teacher what is the great commandment in the law?' Yahushua said to him, "you shall love Yahweh your Elohim with all your heart, with all your soul, and with your mind. This is the first and great commandment and the second is like it. You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the law and prophets. "So, think about that, you got the law and the prophets hanging off of the two great commands, to love Yahweh and love your neighbor. So, there is a little Torah scroll and there hanging off this is two great commands that say love Yahweh and love your neighbor and it's all hanging off there is your Torah scroll. So, behind me, you got the Torah scroll back here and it's hanging off of two great commands, love Yahweh and love your neighbor. That's because when we choose to love Yahweh and love our neighbor we are fulfilling the law, every commandment and principle found in the law and prophets have one thing in mind, love. Love toward Yahweh, love to our fellow men. And that's why it says 1 Timothy chapter 1 verse 5, the purpose of the commandment is love from a pure heart, from a good conscience and from a sincere faith from which some have strayed. Having strayed have turned aside to idle talk, desiring to be teachers of the law understanding neither what they say nor the things which they affirm. And if they try to be a teacher of the law, they are not going to understand what they are saying. If they stray from something... Stray from what? Stray from understanding the purpose of the law, the purpose of the commandment is love. If you don't understand the reason for the commandments and the law which is love, then you won't understand what you're saying when you speak it. When you speak the law you won't understand what you're saying and you won't understand even what you're affirming. Scripture says so. So, every commandment in the law hangs off the two great commandments. So, if I keep for instance the feast days or the Sabbath day, his holy days. It's an expression of love toward my heavenly father. And if I don't understand that and I don't grasp that and I don't comprehend that and accept that and be one with that. I'm not gonna understand how to even do it, how to keep the feast or how to do the Sabbath or keep his holy days. These are expressions of love toward our heavenly father and when I think of his commandments, I think, "this is my way of expressing my love for Yahweh my heavenly father". And I love to do them, I love the holy days, they are a wonderful time. It's like a vacation. Now the world has its holidays, holi days, holidays. They are not really holy days, Yahweh has his seven holy days throughout the year and they are a beautiful, beautiful way of expressing love toward our heavenly father and they beautifully depict what the Messiah has done or will do for us. It's all about love. If I choose to eat clean and not put pork into my body, Yahweh has told me that my body is the temple of his spirit. Antiochus Epiphanes, in the inter-testament period, decided to attack Jerusalem which had a temple functioning there and he attacked Jerusalem. And when he was successful, he went into the temple and smeared pig fat all over the walls of Yahweh's holy temple. And he sacrificed a pig in Yahweh's temple. Now, Yahweh tells me in the law that I'm not supposed pork, not supposed to eat pigs. And so as an expression of love for Yahweh who gave me this body for me to dwell in, I'm going to choose not to take pig fat and smear it all over the walls of his temple. He doesn't want that in his temple, this is his temple right here my body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. I know Yahushua when he was on the earth, he did not put pig fat inside his body contrary to what you may have heard. He did not declare all food clean, that's a misunderstanding, a misreading, of the Greek. Actually it's an addition. It's not even in the Greek. But, anyway, so what does it mean to walk in the spirit? It means to fulfill the law right? And part of walking in love is fulfilling the law that means to do it. If I told my son, "will you please bring me a glass of water" and he brought me a glass of water, then he has fulfilled my commandment. He has done what I have asked him to do; it has to do with obedience. So fulfilling has done with actually doing what the commandment says. And so Yahushua he is my example, he lives in me 1 John 2:6 says, he who says he abides in him ought himself to also just as he walked. How did Yahushua walk? Did he keep the feast days? Did he keep the Sabbath and did he eat clean? Absolutely. And did he walk in the spirit? Don't tell me he didn't walk in the spirit, don't tell me he didn't have the spirit. You know he did and yet he kept all these commandments. So, keeping these commandments is in no way contrary to walking in the spirit? In fact, they are expressions of the spirit of Yahweh being in me. So walking in the spirit has to do with walking as Yahushua walked. Loving as Yahushua did, fulfilling the law as Yahushua did. So we're gonna add that to our list of what it means to walk in the spirit. And we have Galatians 5:13 for you brethren have been called to liberty, only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh but through love serve one another. For all the laws are fulfilled in one word, even in this you shall love your neighbor as yourself. But if you bite and devour one another, that is being unloving, beware lest you are consumed by one another, I say then walk in the spirit and you shall not fulfill the lusts of the flesh. So we find clear agreement here walking in the spirit, walking in love following the way Yahushua lived, fulfilling the law. All these things are synonymous with one another. And every commandment in the law hangs off the two great commands, to love Yahweh and to love one another. Let's continue reading then in Galatians 5, it says for the flesh lusts against the spirit and the spirit against the flesh and these are contrary to one another. So, that you do not do the things that you wish, but if you are led by the spirit you are not under the law. Interesting, if you're led by the Spirit, you're not under the law. Now, this is where I think some people may get the impression that if you're walking and you're led by the spirit that you don't have to keep the commandments and the law. Because they say, "Well, you're not under the law. So why would you need to keep the commandments if you're not under the law? Why would you need to keep the law if you're not under the law? "And listen I understand why some may have this impression, and I'm not condemning anybody. I'm not saying they are evil and they are unsaved and they are going to hell. I'm saying that you're not understanding the text correctly, as I'm going share. Let's try to understand what it means to be under the law, okay. Let's keep reading it and try to understand what it means to be under the law. Now, the works of the flesh are evident, the works of the flesh are evident. Which are adultery, fornication, now these are examples of being disobedient to law, right? Adultery, fornication, uncleanness. Hey, clean and unclean, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, reveling and the like. These are expressions of disobedience to the law of Yahweh. Of which I tell you beforehand just as I also told you in time past that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of Elohim. Whoa, if we practice such things, he says "you will not inherit the kingdom of Elohim if you practice fornication". To practice it means you do it willingly, longingly, you're getting better at it because you're practicing it, you know. And you're actually getting better at doing these things, and then you're not saved. I mean I didn't write the mail here, it just says "you practice it and you will not inherit the kingdom". That's pretty serious. Or if you practice. Here is one, I mean contentions, arguments. Arguments, outbursts of wrath, anger or dissensions. These have to do with conflict between two people. If you practice these things and you're content to live in these kinds of sins, it says here, "you will not inherit the kingdom of Elohim". You're not walking in the spirit; you're walking in the flesh. Serious words, real serious words. So, continue reading; ...but the fruits of the spirit is love, that's right there--it covers everything, okay. But love, joy, peace, longsuffering. It means rather than fighting and arguing you're going to be long suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. You're in control of your anger, your behavior. You're not practicing outbursts of wrath that end in fighting and arguing. Against such, there is no law, but against these things, the works of the flesh, yes, there are commandments and laws against them. But against these things there is no law, which by itself, tells me the law must matter something, you know? To Paul, who is writing this? Why would he even add, " there is no; law against these things"? You see there are laws against the other things, but there is no law against love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control? By the way, the law tells us how to love, right? The law is telling us how to love. And so that's why there is no law against it. And what it says here in verse 24 is, those who are Messiah's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. We have put the flesh with its passions and desires to death, they are dead. Period, they are dead. So, he says, if we live in the spirit; let us also walk in the spirit. If you claim to be spiritual, then this would be the proof. The fruit of whether or not the Holy Spirit is in you. You can speak tongues until you're blue in the face, it doesn't make a bit of difference if you don't have the fruit of the spirit. By your fruits, you will be made known. So all these things are condemned here, the works of the flesh are condemned in the law of Yahweh. And so why then would we conclude if we're being led by the spirit we are free to break the law? Why would we then interpret this phrase "under the law" as being evidence that one can break it, when these are expressions of violating the law, works of the flesh and these are expressions of keeping the law, walking in love, joy, peace, calm and all these words? So, it doesn't really make any sense to say," Well, because I have the spirit I can break the commandments and the law." Does that really make sense? When he is saying, "you know the fruit of the spirit and stuff, there is no law against that but there are laws against these other things"? So, what's going on here? What exactly is going on? At first, let's add this to our list. Oh, I'm sorry we're going to do this first. Two ways to be under the law. I'm going to explain what this is all about. There are two ways you can put yourself underneath Yahweh's law. The number one way is to reject the redemption and forgiveness of sin offered through the Messiah Yahushua. If you do not accept the grace that's being offered to you as a free gift and you reject it; then you're going to be under the law. And what does that mean to be under the law? It means to be held to a condition where you are going to be required to keep it perfectly from the time you're born until the time that you die. Now, Yahushua was born under the law, it says in the book of Galatians, he was born under the law but he kept the law perfectly. We all are born under the law but we did not keep it perfectly and therefore we need grace. If we were not ever under the law we have no reason to need grace. If there is no law and the law is done away with, there is no law to tell you that you've done anything wrong and therefore you don't even need Yahushua. Because without the law there is no sin because sin is a transgression of the law. I would not know sin except the law had said: ...fill in the blank. So by the law is the knowledge of sin and unless I have the law then I have no need for a savior. The law leads us to the Messiah Yahushua. All right. So the first way that we can find ourselves under the law is to reject grace. If you're not under grace then you are under the law by default. The second way to be under the law is to reject the call for repentance. You see Yahushua doesn't just say, you know, "here is a get out of hell free card, you take this card and you can continue living like you've been living and I'll still forgive you. Because you got the little get out of hell free card". It doesn't work that way. There is an expectation that our faith is real, our faith in Yahushua is the real deal, and it's not fake. It's not like Oh yeah... I mean he doesn't hand out salvation like passing out a deck of cards or something. there is only a certain people who are going to receive that and those people are those who accept that Yahushua died for their sins and that they want his blood to cover them and cleanse them from all sin. And also repent. Repentance is a necessary step for us to be saved. If we have the attitude, "well, yes I receive grace and so now I can disobey the law of Yahweh and not be punished for it and there is no recourse and there is no problem". That's dangerous because the scriptures say; Romans chapter 2 verse 4 or do you despise the riches of his goodness forbearance and longsuffering, not knowing the goodness of Elohim leads you to repentance? But in accordance with your hardiness and your impenitent heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of Elohim who will render to each one according to his deeds. Treasure up for yourself wrath if you don't repent. His goodness through Yahushua the Messiah leads us to repentance; eternal life is given to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality. But to those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, your word is the truth, Yahushua said John 17:17. But obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, tribulation, anguish on every soul of man who does evil, of the Jew first and also of the Greek. And this is why it says, Galatians 5:16, walk in the spirit and you will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh, for flesh lusts against the spirit, the spirit against the flesh. And these are contrary to one another so that you do not do the things that you wish. But if you're led by the Spirit you are not under the law. Because you've repented, you're walking and you're being led by the spirit and you're following the spirit's leading to walk in love, to walk in obedience to the commandments. Which are expressions and examples of how to love. You see Yahweh could very easily, on Mount Sinai, he could've just said, "you know what guys, love me and love each other and we'll all get along just fine". But what happened? You know what happened. I mean imagine if you had a room of 30 children you had to supervise and you told everybody, "Tell you what guys? If you love our heavenly father and you one another we'll all get along just fine". The first day or so it might work out. But eventually, you're probably gonna have to come up with some ground rules and explain what it really means to love, right? And so Yahweh could've just given the two commandments, but he wanted to explain what it really means to love. If you love someone, you're not going to commit adultery on your wife, you're not going to murder somebody, you're not gonna steal, you're not gonna lie to him. And if you love me, then you're not gonna worship idols and you're going to, you know, honor my name and you're gonna honor my day. Expression of love, the Sabbath. So, it's an expression of love to Yahweh to honor his holy Sabbath. And so that's included and his other Sabbaths as well, it's an expression of love to do all these things. All right, so if you're led by the spirit, you're following... Your repentant heart is resulting in a growth where you're learning the word of Yahweh, you're learning what he's teaching us and you're applying it and then you're getting the sin out of your life little by little. Step by step, a process of being sanctified more and more through the blood of Yahushua, through a willing heart of repentance and him working in that repentant heart to bring changes in the way you live. This is the life in Messiah, being led by the spirit. The spirit leads you to walk this out now; he's opened up your eyes to see this part of his word over here that you need to adjust in the way you live, the way you think. And by this renewing of the mind and conforming ourselves to the word. this ongoing life of sanctification and learning more and more about the will of Yahweh for our life and then applying that and learning more and more about our own heart. And the areas it doesn't measure up to the measures in Messiah Yahushua. And him step by step, little by little showing us our idiosyncrasies or failures or areas of our own life, our heart, the way we're thinking, the way we're doing things, our old habits that's not quite according to what Yahushua is wanting us to be like. And not really a good expression of what Yahushua is. And so I submit to you that not just getting pride out of your heart is a part of that walk, not just getting the lust of the flesh out of your heart is a part of that walk, I submit to you that all expressions of love are a part of that, being led by the spirit. That includes the honoring of his day, the honoring of his holy name. Which the third commandment, the word it says, "do not take his name in vain". What does the word, " vain" mean? It means to bring to nothing or to render useless. If I said, "that's a vain excuse" same way of saying, "that's a useless excuse", right? The word, "vain" has to do with nothingness or rendering it useless. And I say you know, what greater way to make Yahweh's name useless than to never use it or to take it completely out of the bible? And 7000 times Yahweh puts his name in the Bible; 7000 times man takes it out, rendering his name of no use, making it vain, essentially. And so I'm against that, I want to let my words be as the oracles of Yahweh as 1 Peter instructs me. Those in ministry must let their words be as the oracles of Yahweh. So I use the name of Yahweh, I don't take it out of my vocabulary and substitute it with "lord" or " Adonai" or " Hashem" or these other words. Because I wanna keep the third commandment because I love it. I love his name and I want to honor his name not hide it. Okay. So, Romans 8: 1 says there is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Messiah Yahushua that is accepting the blood of Yahushua's what cleanses you from all sin and then repentance, that do not walk according to the flesh but according to the spirit. One and two, accepting Yahushua the Messiah, being the one that cleanses you from all sin and then walking out a life of repentance. A life that's according to the Holy Spirit. Now, I said earlier Yahushua says, "In the fullness of time to come Elohim sent forth his son born of a woman, born under the law to redeem those who were under the law. That we might receive adoption as sons he had to come and redeem us because we were underneath the law. That means that we did not have grace given to us, we had condemnation given to us. And we did not have grace, therefore we don't want to be condemned for the sins we have committed. We want to be declared righteous but be justified. Even though we have sinned we want to be justified or declared righteous before Yahweh. And the only person who ever lived who was born under the law and yet was justified by the law was the holy son of Yahweh Yahushua the Messiah. But we are under the law and we have not kept the law and so we cannot be considered righteous. Because we have broken it. You can't be justified by something you violated. It would be like a criminal going before a judge and saying "yep I have kept the law of the land, I have kept the United States code, I have kept the Missouri revised statutes and so I shouldn't be punished for anything? And the judge goes, "no you stole from Wal-Mart last week. You have not kept the law. That law doesn't justify you, you have broken it". And so he gives you the appropriate punishment. And so when we stand before Yahweh and we rely on this law to justify us and say, "you've kept it" and guess what? We haven't, only Yahushua has and so that's why he is able to redeem us so that we might be adopted as sons. He can save by his righteousness dwelling in us. All right so he was born under the law but never sinned, we are under the law but we have sinned. But we're not under the law, we're under grace. Romans 6: 14 for sins shall not have dominion over you, the violations of the law. Sin is a transgression of the law according to 1 John 3:4. And therefore you are not under the law but under grace. Sin doesn't have dominion over you because you are under the grace not under the law. What then? Shall we sin, that means to violate the law because we are not under the law but under grace? Certainly not or King James has "Elohim forbid." Now, this is the strongest possible objection that could be written in the Greek language. He is like pounding the table, absolutely not should you continue to sin because you're not under the law but under grace. And then he says, don't you know, do you not know that to whom you present yourselves, slaves, to obey you are that one slave. To whom you obey whether of sin leading to death or obedience leading to righteousness. Don't you realize that? You're making yourself a slave of sin if you continue to willful practice sin. That why he said in Galatian 5 those who practice these things will not inherit the kingdom of heaven. So just because we're not under the law it doesn't mean that we are above the law either. Actually, the law is in us, right here. Yahushua is the word that became flesh and dwelled among us, right? John 1:14 he now lives in us and since he is the living word that became flesh and dwelled among us, by the spirit of Yahweh we will be compelled to live as he lived, to walk as he walked, to keep the law as he kept the law. And therefore we will not look at the law and say "that's something I could ignore now because I'm not under it". We will look at the law and say, "Oh so this is how Yahushua lived". This is a detailed explanation of how my savior lived his life. And so I wanna live that way. I don't wanna just sin and break the law because I'm not under the law, I'm under grace. I want to be a slave of righteousness. And so my intent and my goal are to repent and become one who is obedient to the law and walking in righteousness. Rather than obedient to my flesh which would only lead me to death. So, what does it mean to be under the law? It's either rejecting grace given to you outright and not receiving Yahushua the Messiah or rejecting the call to be repent and therefore finding ourselves headed toward death, through rejection of the call to repent. Now, if you don't keep every commandment that I keep do I think that you're are lost and going to hell? No, if you're not convicted about something that I do and you don't feel like you need to do it, I don't condemn you. But your heart better be repentant in other words, you must have total assurance that you rejected the things that I do, like the Sabbath on perfectly biblical grounds, okay. But you can't say "Oh, well, I walk in the spirit and, therefore, I disobey the law. Well, you keep the law and I.... You know I think you're under the flesh and you're doing fleshly things and me I'm doing spiritual things by breaking the law". That's the very opposite of what scripture teaches, the very opposite. All right. Now there is a full study on what it means to be under the law on the website. If you go to Eliyah.com/underlaw.html. I didn't want to make a whole study about being under the law, here in this part of the segment, but it's mentioned and so we need to at least have discussion on that. Because Yahweh's standard is perfection, we were created in his image and so when we fail to be perfect as he was perfect then we automatically need grace at that point. If we only violated one law, it only took Adam's violation of the one law in order for him to be worthy of death, and so for us as well. So the law can't justify us, it can't make us free from the penalty of eternal death and damnation. By the works of the law no one is gonna be declared righteous because no one has been righteous according to the law except for Yahushua the Messiah. But, that doesn't mean you can walk under the flesh and violate the commandments freely and disregard them anytime you want to. All right. And that's why it says Galatians 5:16 I say then walk in the spirit you should not fulfill the lusts of the flesh. The flesh lusts against the spirit, the spirit against the flesh and these things are contrary to one another so you do not do the things that you wish. If you are led by the spirit you are not under the law, because there's no condemnation to those who are in Messiah Yahushua who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the spirit. If you're walking according to spirit then you're not violating the law, you're not a person who is failing to repent and therefore you're not under the law anymore. Because you have chosen to heed the call to repent and put your faith in Messiah Yahushua for your righteousness. So if you think you can accept Yahushua and then live how you want, you've put yourself back under the law again because we have to repent. So, we cannot live like this. Those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of Elohim. Make sense? I hope so. There are no laws against walking in the spirit, and there are plenty of laws against walking in the flesh. Now, some might say, "Well, why isn't...like Sabbath- keeping mentioned here? You know, Tom. Why is not mentioned?" Well, you know it would be like a preacher going to... You know, everybody is there assembled at the, you know "church on Sunday," so to speak. He says, "Now we need to start keeping the church on Sunday." Everybody looks around... Everyone's already doing it, you know. So, why does he need to mention it? And so they were already keeping the Sabbath, he didn't need to mention it. Yahushua didn't go around you know knocking people over the head and saying "Hey, keep the Sabbath." Everyone was already doing it and so none of the apostles needed to do that. And you don't see many sermons today about "hey make sure you come to church on Sunday," you know, because pretty much everyone is already doing it. So, when the Holy Spirit is in me, that means Yahushua is in me because the Holy Spirit dwelled in Yahushua. I need Yahushua, his presence in me, for me to have the Holy Spirit. And so the Holy Spirit was in Yahushua and Yahushua was in me, then I will live the way he lived. And here's a very, very clear declaration of that very thing, that the spirit of Yahweh leads us to keeping the Commandments here in Ezekiel chapter 36. It says I will put my spirit within you--this is a prophecy of the future, toward Israel. It says I will put my spirit within you and cause you to walk in my statutes and you will keep my judgments and do them. So, the evidence of the Holy Spirit living in us is that we are keeping the statutes of Yahweh. That we are heeding his judgments, his commandments, and his laws, to do them. And so it is not we who obey the statutes and judgments and commandments and laws of Yahweh who are walking in the flesh, and rejecting the call to walk in the spirit. The truth is, and I hate to break it to you, but maybe I would kind of like to break it to you, but I want to do it gently, that you're not walking the spirit if you're violating statutes and judgments and Commandments and laws of Yahweh you're not. Those are not expressions of walking in the spirit. So, according to scripture, we're actually in a more dangerous playground of walking in the flesh by rejecting the commandments and statutes and laws of Yahweh than if we are keeping them. There are plenty of teachers today who offer that way of salvation "once saved, always saved," live how you want after having been reconciled to Messiah. Peter talked about them the kind of people in his day. He said, while they promised them liberty they themselves are slaves of corruption for by whom a person is overcome. By him also he is brought into bondage. or if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Master and Savior Yahushua the Messiah they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning. For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them. It would have been better to never even have known the commandments than having known it to turn away from it. But it's happened to them according to the true proverb a dog returns to his own vomit and a sow, having washed, to her wallowing in the mire. It's worse if you know and then you don't do. And only Yahweh really knows what you know I don't claim to know what you know only Yahweh really knows. So, I'm not judging anybody. But don't ever believe this idea, this promise of liberty that ultimately brings one into corruption and entanglement with the world. That somehow grace is a license to sin, it's not. And sin is transgression of the law. Liberty is a freedom from the penalty and repercussions and wages of sin. It's not a freedom to sin. It's a freedom from sin. Big difference. We are his children. You know, we give our children the grace to make mistakes. Maybe they'll fall; we may need to discipline them sometimes. But they are still our children. If our children say, "You know what? Mom and Dad, every time I have disobeyed you have forgiven me. So, I'm gonna go out and just keep on doing what I have been doing because I know you'll forgive me. That's what grace is all about. Right, Mom and Dad?" I don't think there are too many parents that go, "Yeah, sure." I think most of us would say, "Hey that's not what grace is about. Grace is available to those who are really trying to live right and if you're trying to do the right thing and you fail and you come to me and you say, "Forgive me". Yeah, all kind of grace is available if you're sincerely trying to do right. But you know don't abuse my mercy here, don't abuse my grace." And so don't use liberty as an excuse to sin and return to the pollutions of the world knowing it's not really what Yahweh wants for us. And that's why it said in Galatians 5, You brethren have been called to liberty only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh. But through love serve one another. Don't use Liberty as an opportunity to walk in sin. True Liberty, true Liberty is walking in righteousness, uprightness, and living the sanctified life while understanding all our past sins are done away with. And if we would have weaknesses and we would fail again, we have the opportunity to receive Grace as we confess our sins. He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. But we don't want to abuse it because we love him. Yahushua's blood is precious and we value it. We don't wanna do that. Walk in sin intentionally, we're supposed to be hearers and doers. It says, He who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in, he is not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work. This one will be blessed in what he does. The perfect law of liberty now wait a minute. Doesn't our sin lead us to bondage? And so why do we call the law which exposes our sin as a law of Liberty. Well, our goal is to be completely without sin, right? Our goal is to be really in Yahweh's image, our goal is to be a manifestation of the Messiah Yahushua because we are part of his body, right? And so when the law gave these Commandments they were instruction on how to obtain righteousness, how to walk in righteousness. And so it was liberating and that the law taught us how we shouldn't sin, taught us how to live so that we can live a life that's according to the will of Yahweh. And so it's liberating, it's a wonderful thing Psalm 19 verse 7 says the law of Yahweh I s perfect, converting the soul. Because as a result of reading the law, we go, "okay, I need to change this". And we make the change. But it's not enough, what about the sins we have already committed, the law condemns us and that's where grace comes in. So that we can receive forgiveness for our failures while still seeking to be walking the liberated life and keeping this perfect law of Liberty. And not being a forgetful hearer but a doer of what the law tells us so that we can get the blessing from Yahweh. Make sense? I mean it all lines up really beautifully. There is no confusion really if you think about it this way. So we don't say, "Well, Yahushua fulfilled that so I don't do it". We say "Yahushua fulfilled that and so do I want to fulfill that." And that's why he said "don't think I come to destroy the law, I came not to destroy it but to fulfill it, to do it. And I want you to fulfill it." And that's what he is saying, that we are all expected to fulfill the law and it's a beautiful thing. He who says he abides in him ought himself to also walk just as he walked. All right so, Yahushua by the spirit of Yahweh, manifests himself through us who... You know Yahushua is now reigning from heaven, how can he express himself on the earth? I mean does he just show up in different rooms and say, "Hi my name is Yahushua, I wanna tell you about how I lived"? No, I haven't seen him do that too often; I haven't run across that in my life. How does he manifest himself and how he-- Through us, we are the ones representing him and so we need that to be an accurate representation of him. We have to accurately portray what our savior lived like. He loved his enemies, he walked in perfect love, he set aside his own life and gave his life for others, he put others first, he put Yahweh first ahead of everybody. But he put Yahweh first and he put himself in the lower position, willing to serve, willing to build up, willing to bless others, willing to reject temptations, willing to hunger and thirst after our father in heaven and his ways. So we are now a manifestation of him, we are a part of his body. Are we not a part of the body of Messiah? And the head of the body is trying to tell us, "do as I have done, walk as I have walked, and live as I have lived. If you abide in me, you will." And so do this, knowing the time that now is high time to wake out of sleep. Some people have been sleeping in church and, what I mean by that is, content to just coast into heaven. You know you got your little church you like and, you know, pastor says a few nice words every week you like and you're content to coast. And some people are like you know retired believers, you know they're on the easy chair now and, oh, you're gonna coast right into heaven. I don't recall Yahushua coasting and sleeping, especially knowing he had a job to do. We have a job to do, let's wake up out of our sleep because now our salvation is nearer than we first believed. The night is far spent the day is at hand, therefore, let's cast off the works of darkness let's put on the armor of light and let's walk properly as in the day, not a reverie, in drunkenness, in lewdness and lust or strife. There is that word again-- "arguing" he hates it. And envy, but put on the Master Yahushua the Messiah and make no provision for the flesh. Don't even make a provision for it; don't entertain it to fulfill its lust. We put on Yahushua the Messiah than we are going to fulfill the law just like he did and we have another witness here walking in the flesh is disobedience. Torah keeping has nothing to do with walking in the flesh. 1st Peter 4:1, Therefore since Messiah suffered for us in the flesh, arm you also with the same mind for he who suffered in the flesh is seized from sin. That he should no longer live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lust of men but for the will of Elohim. What do you live for? Are you living for the will of Elohim or are you living for the lusts of your own flesh? Walking in the spirit is keeping the law. It's rejecting sin, whoever re-commits sin, 1 John 3:4, transgresses also the law for sin is a transgression of the law. If the law tells you, "keep my feasts," and you choose to transgress it, you are choosing to sin because by the law is the knowledge of sin. I had not known sin except by the law, Romans 3:20, Romans 7 7. Pretty simple. But by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in his sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin. So your law keeping isn't going to make you righteous. Yahushua's going to make you righteous, but that doesn't give you an excuse to walk in unrighteousness. It doesn't give you excuse to not repent we must repent. Even though the law doesn't save you, we must repent. That means to turn away from unrighteous living and turn toward righteous living. You may not be perfect at it but your heart needs to be pursuing righteousness, following after righteousness. Yahweh is willing to save us the minute we, in our hearts, turn to him. And that's why I don't condemn all those who believe differently than me. Because, when we turn to him with a repentant heart and we receive the Messiah for the forgiveness of sins--that's all we really need. He'll meet us right there. But when we then read something in the word and we know we're supposed to do it but then we say, Uuuuuh, I don't know, I don't really want to have to do that or I don't want to have to give up my pork or give up my you know my job you know they'll fire me if I don't come in on the Sabbath or you know..." Is that repentance? Would you take a job where they require you to commit adultery once a week or take Yahweh's name in vain once a week or murder once a week or lie once a week? No. Once you realize the Sabbath matters, and in your heart, in the depths of your heart and only Yahweh knows, you say, "Oh, well I mean it's I just couldn't do that. Oh you know Yahushua said, "Follow me, right? Count the cost, but follow me. Then, he made excuses. Oh, I got my father; I gotta go bury my father". "Let the dead bury their own dead," he said. "You follow me". Now at the same time, I used to minister at a county jail. And I wouldn't ask him, "How many Sabbaths have you kept?" I didn't say, "Well, how do you pronounce the Father's name?" I want to know whether or not their heart is repentant, whether they want to follow the Messiah. You see the beauty of the good news is that Yahushua the Messiah is very merciful and patient as we learn the way to walk and so he's very patient. and so I don't condemn anybody, but I'm going to say this; walking in the spirit and observing the law it's all one in the same, it's all one and the same. No difference. Are we willing to follow Yahushua? Are we willing to recognize that the law is holy and the commandment holy and just and good? According to Romans 7:12, it is. And so if you want to be holy, if you want to be just and you want to be good, then the law would be a reliable set of instructions on what it means to be holy and just in good. But the law is not gonna make you holy, just and well, it's going to show you how. But you have to be willing with a repentant heart to receive the Master Yahushua. And not only rejoice in what Yahweh has done for you, but in what Yahweh wants to do through you. Because the law is not dead. I mean we often heard, "God's not dead but the law is dead". Nope, you've heard of that movie that came out years ago that "God's not dead". Okay, well, but then people say "the law is dead." But look what he said in verse 13. Has then what is good become death to me? What's good? The law is holy, just and good. Is it death to me? No, it's not death, it's not dead, and it's not death. The law is not about death, certainly not, the strongest possible objection in the Greek language. But sin, that it might appear sin was producing death in me. What was, the law was? No, sin was, my transgression of the law was producing death in me through what is good. Because it showed, I was not good the law is good but it showed me I wasn't good because I didn't keep it. So that sin through the Commandment might become exceedingly sinful showing that I'm a terrible sinner, a rotten center. That's what the law does, it's good, but also shows me I'm a rotten center. In fact, it says we know the law is spiritual, Oh the law is spiritual, guess what? If you walk according to the law you're gonna be spiritual. That the law is holy and just and good then when you do what the instruction say then you will be walking in the way of the spirit, you will be walking in the way of goodness and holiness and justice. The problem is, we are carnal, you see that's the whole problem, and we're sold under sin. A sad condition, very sad condition. Yahushua said, "The spirit gives life, the flesh profits nothing, and the words I speak to you are spirit". The words I speak to you are spirit. The words I speak to you are spirit. Remember what I said earlier that the word "ruach" comes from the word "breath" in Hebrew. And so with the words Yahushua formed with his breath these words were spirit and that's why the law of Yahweh is spiritual. We read that earlier, Romans 7: 14. The law is spiritual because its expressions of Yahweh's words which are spirit and there is life. It's not death, its life. And Yahushua's words are not just spirit when he spoke in the book of John, but also when Yahweh spoke through him in the Book of Deuteronomy, Leviticus. and Numbers and Exodus. It's all spiritual. In fact, the days going to come when everyone will keep the law of Yahweh. Isaiah 2:2 says, Now it shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of Yahweh's house shall be established in the top of the mountains and shall be exalted above the hills and all nations shall flow to it. Many people shall come and say "say come and let us go up to the mountain of Yahweh, to the house of the Elohim of Jacob. He will teach his ways and we will walk in his pass for out of Zion will go forth the law and the word of Yahweh from Jerusalem". That's his ways, that's his way that's his pass, it's in the law and a day will come that's never happened. This is a futuristic prophecy and it's going to happen, the entire planet will be required to come to Jerusalem and learn Yahweh's law, so they will no longer break it. He shall judge between nations and rebuke many people. They shall beat their swords into plowshares. Have you ever heard of that? All will beat their swords into plowshares, the Bible says. Their spears into pruning hooks, nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore. Because you're not going to be fighting anymore, not going to be engaging and strife anymore. Why? Because we're learning from the law how to love each other. I say we can learn from the law today how to love each other, it has a lot to teach us in we're willing to heed it. and actually the day is going to come Zachariah 14: 16 it shall come to pass everyone that who's left of all the nations which came up against Jerusalem (that was during Armageddon) shall go up from year to year to worship the King Yahweh of hosts and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles. We're gonna be walking in the spirit because the law is spiritual, the law instructs us to keep the feast of tabernacles. Beautiful thing, I think. Beautiful thing, can we heed it? I say we can and we should, absolutely, beautiful. And the feasts are a great time, I tell you what. It is a party for Yahweh, I tell you what, beautiful. Here's Isaiah 66:22 through 24 "as the new heavens and a new earth which I shall make, will make sure it shall remain before me says, Yahweh. So shall your descendants and your name remain and it shall come to pass that from one new moon to another and one Sabbath to another all flesh shall come to worship before me says, Yahweh". New moons and Sabbath are still going; they were not abolished at the cross as is commonly stated. And they shall go forth and look upon the corpses of eh men who transgressed against me for the worm does not die and the fire is not quenched. Yahushua called this Gehenna. There shall be an abhorrence to all flesh--hell. But for those who want to walk in the spirit and keep the statutes and judgments of Yahweh it says in Ezekiel 36 verse 27, they will be from one new moon to another one Sabbath to another gladly, happily going forth to worship before Yahweh. So who O, wretched man that I am who will deliver me from this body of death? I thank Elohim, through Yahushua the Messiah our Master. I myself serve a law of Elohim, Oh, we're supposed to serve the law of Elohim through Yahushua the Messiah. But with the flesh, i would be serving the law of sin that's what I will be doing. What is the law of sin? The book of Romans 7:14 says we know the law is spiritual but I am carnal sold under sin. For what I am doing I do not understand for what I will to do that I do not practice but what I hate that I do. If then I do what I will not to do, I agree with the law, it is good. But I'm carnal, right? But now it's no longer I who do it but sin dwelling in me, sin that dwells in me. for I know in me that's my flesh nothing good dwells, for to will is present with me but how to perform what is good I do not find. For the good that I will to do I do not do but the evil I will not to do that I practice. Now, if I do what I will not do it's no longer I who do it but sin that dwells in me, I find then a law that evil is present with me, the one who wills to do good. For I delight in the law of Elohim. How about you, do you delight in the law of Elohim or do you say it's done away with? Or do you say "we don't have to keep that law anymore "?" I delight in the law of Elohim", it says. So I also want to delight in the law of Elohim according to the inward man. But I see this other law going on [inaudible 01:23:38.03] warring against the law in my mind bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. This law of sin in my member, that evil is present with me the one who wills to do good. And so this law of sin he says here Romans 7: 24 O, wretched man that I am, who will deliver this body of death? I think Elohim through Yahushua the messiah our master with the mind I myself serve the law of Elohim. But with the flesh, the law of sin. We're delivered from the body of death through Yahushua the Messiah our master. And so that's why it says there is, therefore, no condemnation to those who are in Messiah Yahushua who are refusing the law of sin and are receiving the law of Elohim. And so those who are in Messiah Yahushua who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the spirit. The law is spiritual, remember? We read that in Romans 7, the law is spiritual. So if I'm walking according to the spirit, I'm walking according to what the law tells me to live. Yahushua says, "The words I speak they are spirit, they are life". Ezekiel 36:27 said what? I will put my spirit within you and it walk cause you to walk in my statutes, to keep my judgments and do those, right? For the law of the Spirit of life in Messiah Yahushua has made me free from the law of sin and death. The law of sin and death is not the law of Yahweh. The law of sin and death is this condition we read earlier. Evil is present with me the one willing to do good, it's warring against the law in my mind, this law of sin which is in my members. It's in my members; it's not written on tablets of stone or in the scriptures, it's in your members. Bringing you into captivity. So, we're free because the law of the spirit of life, the law of the spirit of life is even though we have sinned, Yahushua comes and sets us free. As long as we're willing to walk according to his spirit. We are set free from this condition of Romans 7. Then Romans 8 talks about how we are free from Romans 7 condition. For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, Elohim did by sending his own son in the likeness of sinful flesh on account of sin he condemned sin in the flesh. That the righteousness requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, it's still a righteous law, right? Righteous requirement of the law it's still righteous might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the spirit. If you walk according to the flesh, the righteous requirement of the law is not fulfilled in you and therefore you are a violator of the law and therefore you're under condemnation. We must walk according to the spirit; it means we must turn our hearts away from unrighteousness and toward righteousness. For those who live according to the flesh, set their minds on the things that the flesh but those who live according to the spirit do the things of the spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against Elohim. Why? What does enmity mean? Hatred against Elohim, for it is not subject to the law of Elohim nor indeed can be. The carnal mind refuses to be subject to the law of Elohim. The spiritual mind, therefore, is subject to the law of Elohim. The word subject to, this comes from the word "hipotasso" which means to be subordinate to, reflexive to obey. So we are going to obey the law of Elohim if we are spiritual people. Scripture teaches it couldn't be any clearer than that. That's why it says "I will put my spirit within you and cause you to walk in my statutes, you keep my judgments and you'll do them". And we have been crucified with Messiah, it's no longer I who live Galatians 2:20 but Messiah lives in me and the life which I now live in the flesh led by faith in the Son of Elohim who loved me and gave himself for me. Boy, this is a beautiful, beautiful teaching. Formally I was in the Romans 7 condition, that what I will to do, I couldn't do it. But now I've been crucified with Messiah, crucified with him. And the life which I now live, I'm simply living by faith in the Son of Elohim because now I'm part of his body and because I'm a part of his body I identify myself with his life, he was crucified and therefore I was crucified with him. Because now my body is dead and Messiah, now, I'm a part of his body. And so I was crucified with him and that joining together between me and Messiah enabled my sins to be placed on him and his righteousness to be placed in me. Now, if the spirit of Yahweh is in you now, Yahushua is living in you. Yahushua is in you and He is trying to manifest himself through you and the spirit is now causing you to keep the statutes and righteous requirements in the spiritual walk of holiness being just, being good. It all comes together, living as Yahushua did because the Messiah is living in you. I mean does it get any simpler? It's so easy to understand really. Don't let modern teachers confuse you and muddy the waters. If Yahweh lives in you, the spirit that's in you will lead you to do something exactly like Yahushua did, not different than what he did. He's writing his law on the tablets of your heart. If the law is really in your heart now, then wouldn't obedience to the law is reflected in the outer layer? So to walk in the 'ruach', walk in the spirit is living like Yahushua did, keeping the law of a Yahweh, very simple. No confusion at all. And if we walk in the light as he is in the light, we will have fellowship with one another and the blood of Yahushua his Son will cleanse us from all sin. The light, the law is a lamp, the bible says, a light to your path. Your word is a light into my path, right? Lamp into my feet, a light into my path. And the path of the just, Proverbs 4:18, is like the shining sun that shines ever brighter unto the perfect day. Brighter and brighter our walk will get as we seek correction from the law of liberty. And seek forgiveness through the Messiah Yahushua. That's what it means to have the spirit filled life, letting it shine. So Yahushua says "you are the light of the world, a city on a hill that cannot be hidden ". And all the darkness in the world cannot put out a single flame from a candle. Let him and his light dwell in you because the law of Yahweh is perfect, converting us all. A testimony of Yahweh is sure making wise the simple, the statutes of Yahweh are right rejoicing the heart, the commandment of Yahweh is pure enlightening the eyes. The fear of Yahweh is clean enduring forever; the judgments of Yahweh are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold. Yea than much fine gold, sweeter also than honey in the honeycomb. Moreover, by them, your servant is warned and in keeping them there is a great reward. Yahweh says there is a reward and I believe it, I believe it. Do you believe it? Yahushua says, to him who overcomes I will grant to sit with me on my throne as I also overcame and sat down with my father on his throne. He who has an ear let him hear what the spirit says to the assemblies, to congregations and the churches. What an honor to know and reign with the king of creation. You know, how is it that Yahweh can take all of us who have been so far removed from his will and yet set us on the throne of Yahushua ha Mashiach. It amazed me every time I read that, this amazes me. And so going back through Psalm 19, "Who could understand his errors, cleanse me from secret thoughts, keep back your servant also from presumptuous sins. Let them not have dominion over me. Through Yahushua, sin does not have dominion over us. Then I shall be blameless and I shall be innocent of the great transgression. Let the word of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight of Yahweh my strength and my redeemer. Let's pray; Yahweh thank you for your beautiful, beautiful word kadosh, kadosh, kadosh be your awesome name. We desire, Father that your kingdom and the laws of your kingdom that we read about is going to take place in our future time. We thank you, Father, for enlightening our eyes and rejoicing our hearts. Thank you for the fear of Elohim which is clean, enduring forever. Thank you for your judgments which are true and righteous altogether. Thank you for your law which is perfect converting the souls and your testimony which makes us wise and the statues which are truly right and just and good. Father, we know we have not always been just and holy and good. And therefore with boldness, we can come to the throne of grace because of Yahushua ha Mashiach. Father, we ask that you forgive us as we forgive other who wrongs us as well. Knowing that grace is available to us as we extend that grace to others. We thank you for the way you lead us, Father, by your spirit, not just in keeping your laws but also directing our paths as we seek to establish your Kingdome on this earth, as it is in heaven. That your will might me be done. Father continues to lead us and guide us by your spirit, to the places you want us to be and to the specific plan you have for our lives. For we know that means that's also walking in the spirit. We want your spirit to fill us that we might manifest the love, the joy, the peace, longsuffering, kindness, patience, gentleness, longsuffering and faith and self-control that you want to see be a part of our existence on this earth. And we know father that truly yours is the kingdom and power and glory and majesty and all praise honor and worship belong to you Yahweh Elohim, Yahweh our mighty one forever and ever in Yahushua's great name we pray these things, amein, and HalleluYah.
