We are going to go ahead and move forward into the study portion for today’s broadcast… Part 7: “What the Scriptures REALLY Teach About Health.”

We are in our seventh segment and I don’t know if we are even halfway done yet. I mean, we have a lot to talk about. But we do notice that there are a lot of things in Scripture about health, and there are a lot of sins that we could be committing that can have a tremendous amount of impact on our health.

And one of those sins, and we might not think of that as sin, but whatever is not of faith is sin. And so, if we are not walking by faith, we are committing a sin when we walk in fear or we walk in anxiety and we have a really anxious mind to where we have lost our peace. And so, we have to be aware of this.

And we have been talking about this. This will be our second segment where we are going to talk about fear and anxiety.

And, actually, there are three areas that can affect our health. The three relationships would be:

1. Our relationship with Yahweh– lacking love, lacking security, and lacking trust.

2. Our relationship with others may contain bitterness or unforgiveness.

3. And then our relationship with ourselves lacks love and a sense of worth.

And each of those can have an impact on our health directly.

We see that Cortisol… “If you are in danger, cortisol is good for you… but if it becomes unregulated, it can produce disease.” We discussed this at length in previous segments if you missed it. That is according to Dr. Philip Gold of the National Institute of Mental Health.

We looked at other references in the medical community. The health community showed that we can have our health impacted. In fact, fifty to seventy-five percent of diseases have stress and anxiety as a risk factor or even cause.

Scripture says:

Proverbs 17:22 – A merry heart does good, [like] medicine, But a broken spirit dries the bones.

Proverbs 18:14 – The spirit of a man will sustain him in sickness, But who can bear a broken spirit?

Who can bear it? That is the question. Who can bear a broken spirit? And if we are not walking by faith, then we can be in danger, because our spirit will not sustain us.

Proverbs 15:13 – A merry heart makes a cheerful countenance, But by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.

That is the heart’s wounds. The heart’s wounds can create stressors, fears, anxieties and all kinds of problems, and we have to be aware of that.

2Timothy 1:7 – For Elohim has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

We understand that fear can put us in a condition to where our mind is not sound, our mind is not at peace, we are not in a place of shalom within ourselves. And so, we have to be aware of these things.

Fear is an unclean spirit. It says here: “Elohim has not given us a spirit of fear.” Fear is an unclean spirit. But He has given us power. He has given us love. He has given us a sound mind. Those are wonderful things to have, but fear being an unclean spirit from the enemy.

You see, there are two kingdoms who are at war with each other and we are the ground that both kingdoms are seeking to own. And we have a choice as to which kingdom we are going to yield to, submit to, believe in, recognize as being the legitimate one that we are going to follow.

The enemy wants us to walk in fear, anxiety. He wants to express himself through us. He hates us because he hates Yahweh and we are created in Yahweh’s image. That is why he hates you. He hates you, so he devises his plans and strategies for your failure, for your destruction. Two of his biggest tools: Fear, accusation. Huge, huge tools.

Demons want to express themselves, their purpose and their leader’s ideology. They need man if they want to fully express their ways to the world. They want us to be their medium. They want us to conform to their laws, abide by their doctrines, which are doctrines of demons.

They want to shame Yahweh. They want to suggest that we can’t trust Him. They want to suggest He doesn’t love us. But we cannot listen to them or they can become one with us and their doctrines become a part of our hardwired thinking.

And if we are not learned in the ways of Yahweh, and we become one with their way of thinking, we may find ourselves under the control of an invisible kingdom of the enemy in such a way it seems perfectly normal to us.

But we are called to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. When we accept thoughts that are not of Yahweh’s Kingdom, we begin to have a physical manifestation. We may have emotions that are based on lies. It says the demons know there is one Elohim. What do they do? They tremble and fear.

How did the demons respond to Yahushua the Messiah? They trembled. They were afraid. And those are fears that they have and the enemy wants to say, “Hey, you are like us. You have to be afraid.”

But Yahweh wants His Law to become a permanent part of us, His teachings to become a permanent part of us, so that our physical manifestations and emotions are based on Him and His eternal truth.

And so, we are either thinking like a son of Elohim or we are thinking like a son of the devil. And everything we think, everything we say, everything we do, ultimately establishes one kingdom or the other.

Now for those of you who have watched the previous segment on fear and anxiety and are still struggling, I have something to share with you, some Scriptures and some scriptural concepts today.

And as I am going through these things, there may be some things that really speak to your heart– Scriptures, scriptural concepts that you will hear– that you will find particularly faith building.

There is something we have to understand about the Word of Yahweh. We need to hear it multiple times. I think Yahushua gave the same message multiple times in multiple locations. I think we hear multiple times as we read the Scriptures some of the same concepts.

And this is a process of renewing our minds. We have spent so long embracing wrong things. When we hear something that we find faith building, when we hear something that we find as a good tool to defeat the enemy, we need to take notes, we need to write them down, or we will just hear them and the tendency of men is to forget them.

Now as we begin to hear these words of Yahweh, He, by His Spirit, will remind you of these words. As you get these Scriptures written down and you care about them and you really demonstrate a love for the Word, He will, by His spirit, remind you of these things and then you can put them to use.

And you will be using them in the future. When the enemy comes in like a flood, by the power of Yahweh’s Spirit, you will raise up this standard of His Word against him and he will have to flee from you.

Scripture says:

Isaiah 59:16 – He saw that [there was] no man, And wondered that [there was] no intercessor; Therefore His own arm brought salvation for Him; And His own righteousness, it sustained Him.

That is Yahushua the Messiah, who sits at the right hand of Elohim. When Yahweh looks at us, He sees His own righteousness. Why? Because Yahushua the Messiah dwells within us. And so, He sees His own righteousness within each one of us who have embraced the Messiah Yahushua.

Isaiah 59:17 – For He put on righteousness as a breastplate, And a helmet of salvation on His head; He put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, And was clad with zeal as a cloak.

Amazing! This is the spiritual warfare, the different parts of the armor that we are called to wear, because Yahushua dwells in us.

Isaiah 59:18 – According to [their] deeds, accordingly He will repay, Fury to His adversaries, Recompense to His enemies; The coastlands He will fully repay.

19 – So shall they fear The name of YAHWEH from the west, And His glory from the rising of the sun; When the enemy comes in like a flood, The Spirit of YAHWEH will lift up a standard against him.

Yahweh, by His Spirit, will cause the enemy to flee as you choose to put Yahweh’s Word into practice in your life.

Now there are all kinds of different things that we can fear, but Yahushua taught us:

Matthew 6:34 – Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day [is] its own trouble.

There is always something in the future that we can fear. There is always something.

Fear of man. Fear of man… you know, with man, there is no allowance for failure a lot of times, no allowance for weakness. It is a trap. That is not how Yahweh is.

To say that our value, for instance, is based on how well we perform, that is a lie. Yahweh says our value and worth exists no matter what we have done. Even if we are an unbeliever, Yahweh still loves and values people in this world because He sent Yahushua to die for us… all of us. Even if you are unbelievers.

While we were yet sinners, Messiah valued us and died for us. Yahweh sent Yahushua for you. And so, He demonstrated we have value and we have worth. Regardless of our performance, regardless of whether we are even a believer or not a believer, we have value and we have worth.

We have to believe that. We have to embrace that. We have to receive that in the deepest recesses of our heart, because there are a lot of people walking around broken thinking, “Oh, yeah, other people may be good enough to be a believer,” but not them.

They have allowed the teachings of perhaps parents, perhaps authority figures, perhaps a spouse who has beat them down and told them that they are not of value, not of worth. Those are man’s words. What do Yahweh’s words say? Whose words will prevail in our hearts? Whose words? Very important for us to understand that very thing.

You know, a lot of times our fears are inherited. I raised sheep and I noticed that if the mama sheep was scared and skittish around people, the lambs would be also. But if the mama sheep was not afraid of us and would come up to us and let us pet them and everything, the baby sheep would let us pet them and do the same thing that the mama did.

We learn a lot of times, even in the animal kingdom, but also among us, we learn what to fear based on what our parents are fearing. If we are looking at a little child and the child is very fearful and very anxious, look in the mirror, because it may be that you have taught the child to be that way.

And if we were that child, as a child, and we grew up to be adults, we may have a reaction of fear kind of hardwired into our psyche that needs to be transformed back into a healthy and right understanding of what there is to fear, and the most important thing we should fear is Yahweh.

Not in a “I’m scared of Him; He is going to beat me up” kind of sense, although that is the underlying foundation– we know if we depart from Yahweh that is what could happen, we could find ourselves in discipline, we could find ourselves outside of the body of Messiah– but a fear of displeasing Him, because we love Him.

So if we have these examples here, that sins can pass down from one generation to the next, sickness and disease can pass down from one generation to the next. Maybe not even so much DNA and genetically wise, but we may end up having the same health problems because we are involved in the same sinful patterns that our parents had taught us.

And it is only when we embrace our heavenly Father and His words and we say, “His words are more important. I am going to embrace those words. I am going to choose to reject whoever’s word it was– parents, spouse, whoever– and say, ‘No, Yahweh’s Word says this.’ ”

Because when we accept and we embrace the words of the enemy, we are actually following the doctrines of an unclean spirit and it is a form of idolatry. Think about this.

Jeremiah 16:19 says:

Jeremiah 16:19 – O YAHWEH, my strength and my fortress, My refuge in the day of affliction, The Gentiles shall come to You From the ends of the earth and say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, Worthlessness and unprofitable [things].

20 – Will a man make gods for himself, Which [are] not gods?

We may not think of it this way. I mean, those of us who have embraced the Torah may like this verse, because we recognize our forefathers in traditional Christianity may have (in many cases, unknowingly) given us false doctrines, things that are not true and they believed them with all their hearts, but they were deceived.

You know, the same can be true in other areas.

If we had parents who listened to unclean spirits of fear that lied to them, and the parents believed those unclean spirits, what those unclean spirits were telling them, they have, perhaps, unknowingly, given power to that unclean spirit, and said, “These are the doctrines I am going to follow. I am going to walk in fear.”

And if we fear Yahweh, we are going to recognize, “Wait a minute! Yahweh’s words are true. We are going to act on His words.” But if we fear the unclean spirit’s words, we are going to recognize the unclean spirit’s words are true and act on them.

And therefore, which one is the mighty one in our minds? Who is the one who is strong? Who is the one that we ought to fear? And so, it says a person has made “mighty ones”– or “elohim” in the Hebrew– for himself which are not elohim. And we may not even realize it, but the nations of old were really afraid of their gods. I mean, they were.

They were terrorized by the thought of displeasing their tribal gods and they did all manner of things to try to appease their idols even to the extent of burning their firstborn children on the altar. They were terrorized.

And if you go into some of these third world countries where nations are still involved in idolatry, you will see they are terrorized by demons all the time. Constantly terrorized by demons.

If you listen to the testimonies of missionaries, they go into these places and these medicine men and all these things are going on, and these people are just absolutely terrorized and afflicted and powerless against the enemy, because they do not know Yahweh, the more powerful One. And so, they fear.

That ought not be us. We regard Yahweh’s words as the true words. We have come to know His hand. We have come to know His might. Look at that verse there. What does it say?

Jeremiah 16:21 – Therefore behold, I will this once cause them to know, I will cause them to know My hand and My might; And they shall know that My name [is] YAHWEH.

“I will this once cause them to know.” Who? The ones who feared these other mighty ones. “I will cause them to know My hand and My might.” Because He is the strong One. He is the Mighty One.

“And they shall know that My name is Yahweh.” We regard Yahweh’s words as the true words. We have come to know His hand, His might. He revealed to us His awesome name.

And I don’t mean just His verbal and written and spoken name, but His true character that is associated with that written and verbal and spoken name, a revelation of who He really is, the real truth about Him.

And so, rather than fearing unclean spirits and what they have to say about Yahweh– lies saying He does not love you, He does not accept you, He does not embrace you, He does not care about you– rather than embracing those things and saying that is Yahweh’s character, Yahweh says…

“I want to let you know My might, My hand, My character, Who I am, My name, My reputation, Who I say I am.” And we begin to learn who Yahweh is and begin to embrace His name, His personage, His character, rather than letting unclean spirits define Him.

And so, the important question is: Whose words are we going to believe? What will we listen to, the god of this world and heed his words and act on them or will we listen to Yahweh and His words and act on them? Because the things that the Gentiles seek are worthless. They are unprofitable. They are lies.

And the unclean spirit wants you to fear an unhealthy fear, an unbiblical fear, an unrighteous fear, a fear of the future, a fear of all kinds of things. The unclean spirit of fear just wants you to be oppressed and fearful just like they are oppressed and fearful.

What did Yahushua say to do? He said:

Matthew 6:25 – Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?

Really, isn’t it? You know, if we are not even supposed to worry about the basic things that allow us to have life– food, clothing– surely it is not Yahweh’s will we sit around worrying about other things that really have no real impact on whether we live or die, right?

I mean if we are not even supposed to worry about whether we live or die, listen, these other small things that the enemy tries to get us to fear and be anxious about, that is not Yahweh’s will.

But we may have had parents who were willing to listen and give heed to the spirit of fear and they had parents who did the same and those parents had parents who did the same.

And it becomes generational until someone gets Yahweh’s Word in their heart, and says, “Now, wait a minute. Hold on just a minute. Hold the phone. Wait a minute. This is all a lie. Everything is a lie.”

Just as we have come to understand some of the things we have been handed down from historical Christianity have not been true, there are things that we may fear we have no business fearing. They are lies.

You know, a believer was once talking to another believer who was struggling with worry. He asked him, “Well, why do you worry so much? Doesn’t it concern you, you might just be living a miserable life with all this worry?”

And the other person says, “Well, I find worrying actually helps, you know, because ninety-five percent of the things I worry about never happen.” As if your worrying caused it to not happen.

Now that is the trap, because worry seems to be couched in this little protective mechanism. A person fears if they stop worrying, they would be caught off guard. An unthinkable, terrible thing will happen and they will not have taken steps to stop it because they did not worry about it. Am I getting to the root here?

I am not saying we need to reduce our awareness of what is happening. I am not saying that we can’t be prepared for the future if something negative does happen. Actually, it says:

Matthew 6:27 – Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?

I mean, it is not necessarily the end result, not exactly the solution. But we need to come to a place where we realize Yahweh is the One who is in ultimate and complete control, and be very, very happy that He is, and a place of contentment in realizing, “Hey, if He is in control here of my life, what do I need to worry about?

“He is the most powerful Being in the universe, and if He wanted me to go through some kind of suffering, I couldn’t stop it anyway.” But He is not going to allow anything to happen to us unless it is something that is ultimately good, because we know what His Word has said.

Romans 8:28 – And we know that all things work together for good to those who love Elohim, to those who are the called according to [His] purpose.

That is what it says.

Faith says, “Yes, okay, something negative could happen to me. Someone I love may sting or hurt or something negative will happen to them. I am going to take normal steps to avoid it. But if it is something beyond my control, I am just going to take it to prayer. I am just going to trust Yahweh will cause something good to come out of it.

“And I am going to trust He is only allowing it because He is going to bring something good out of it.” It is all right to think, “Well, you know, this thing or that thing may happen,” and maybe consider the worst case scenario and mentally have a plan in our minds what we will do in case the worst case scenario does actually happen.

I mean, Scripture does say:

Proverbs 22:3 – A prudent [man] foresees evil and hides himself, But the simple pass on and are punished.

And this is where this world of grays resides and all kinds of satanic lies can get thrown in. See, unless there was a little, tiny grain of truth to what the enemy brings in, you wouldn’t even believe him. If it were all one-hundred percent lie, you wouldn’t believe a word of it.

But because lies are mixed with truth, it is more hidden, and therefore, more dangerous.

Yahweh can lead us to take steps for protection. I mean, look at what happened, for instance, in Acts chapter 9.

Acts 9:23 – Now after many days were past, the Jews plotted to kill him.

They wanted to kill Paul.

Acts 9:24 – But their plot became known to Saul. And they watched the gates day and night, to kill him.

25 – Then the disciples took him by night and let [him] down through the wall in a large basket.

Were they walking in the spirit of fear? Absolutely not! They saw that His life was in danger. Yahweh exposed the plot for his death. They took step for protection. Nothing wrong with that. They weren’t walking in the spirit of fear. Yahweh exposed what was happening. They took steps to protect Paul.

Where it becomes a problem is when we are terrorized by fear and anxiety, anxiousness. We see that Yahweh protected Paul.

You know, I know of so many people, they have gone through “this happened” and “this happened” and “this happened” and “this happened,” and they think it might happen again. And I say, “Well, what happened during that?”

I know someone who was traveling 70 miles per hour in a car. They hit a deer and now they are afraid to drive at night because they may hit a deer. But what happened through that? Yahweh protected him. No harm came to them. They were able to still continue to drive the car. No reason to be afraid.

Yeah, something negative happened, but look at the power of Yahweh in that situation. Maybe there is something that happened to you, and you say, “Wow, that may happen again,” but you forget by the power of Yahweh you were protected in great and mighty ways.

Maybe you went through some kind of abuse, but you were not killed. You were saved alive for such a moment as this. You were saved alive. You were blessed.

You may have had something negative happen to you as a child, or even as an adult, but here you are today alive and praising Yahweh. And maybe if it didn’t happen, you wouldn’t be. Maybe if that didn’t happen, maybe you wouldn’t be a believer today.

Well, what I can tell you is this, Scripture tells us:

Philippians 4:6 – Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to Elohim;

WITH THANKSGIVING!! Be thankful for the good things that you have. Be thankful for the trials that you have. It is all going to work out.

Philippians 4:7 – and the peace of Elohim, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Messiah Yahushua.

When you do what? When you are anxious for nothing. When in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known and let it go. You have told Him what your issue is, you have told Him what’s going on, and you don’t have to worry about it.

Now there are two kinds of fear. There is a healthy fear and an unhealthy fear. There is a healthy fear, as I shared last segment. You are driving down a two lane road. You see Mack trucks flying by the other direction. You don’t go into that lane on a blind corner, you know, or a blind hill or something. You don’t go in that lane.

You wait until you see there are no cars ahead. Then you move forward, right? Then you pass somebody on a tractor, or something.

But an unhealthy fear is living in dread: “I am afraid to drive a car because what if someone gets into our lane and I can’t do anything about it? It is too late and they just hit us head on.” It is not based on any factual information. It is only based on what may happen one day. And there are innumerable things that might happen.

You could be struck by lightning. Do you not go outside at all? I have heard of people getting struck by lightning in broad daylight. Our children could die in an accident. Our house could burn down. We could become poor. A spouse or a parent could die.

There are thousands– millions, probably– of different scenarios of things that could happen, but we are not supposed to live in dread and anxiety. We are called to live in peace, not anxiety. We let our petitions be known to Yahweh, thanking Him for the good things we have. And pray for others while you are at it– supplication and prayer.

And let His shalom rest in our hearts and in our minds, because there is no shortage of things you could worry about, “could be’s” that will never happen. And worry is a type of fear. It denies Yahweh is on the throne and suggests you must go in and control everything so you will never suffer.

But fear and anxiety are on the increase because in these last days fear comes along disguised as a friend. “Hey, I’m your friend. I’ll protect you. I’ll let you know all the things you can be afraid of. And I’ll come along and help you out.”

In reality, it is the enemy, craftily designed to destroy your faith, destroy your peace, destroy your joy and, ultimately, ruin your life and make your life miserable.

Fear says, “Yahweh is not working fast enough.” Fear says, “Yahweh is not going to protect you. Yahweh doesn’t care about you.” But we need to learn to recognize fear statements. If we find ourselves dreading something in the future, we are fearing. We are not walking in faith. We are not walking in peace.

Fear tries to project into the future all the possible scenarios that could cause you to suffer in some way. It can venture into the ridiculous. I mean, I have heard some crazy things people are afraid of. But fear denies Yahweh is on the throne or if He is there He is not going to do what you think He ought to do.

Now wait a minute! Are you the one wanting to be on the throne then since Yahweh doesn’t know what He is doing and you are going to make sure “this doesn’t happen” and “that doesn’t happen”? Listen, in our trials it is often all these “what if” scenarios that cause more burden and more stress and more affliction than the actual trial itself.

The anxieties aren’t doing any good for us. They are just leading us to what Scripture says is ultimately depression.

Proverbs 12:25 – Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression, But a good word makes it glad.

We need good words to make our hearts glad. Good words! That is what we need.

Yahushua came across a worrywart by the name of Martha… but before I do that, I want to go through the different things that people fear. We went over this last week, but we are going to look at it again.

Fears and Phobias: Fear of pain, fear of disease, fear of death, fear of animals, fear of snakes, fear of spiders, fear of failure, fear of rejection, fear of poverty, fear of abandonment, fear of responsibility, fear of the unknown, fear of being robbed, fear of being unsaved, fear of a relative dying, fear of being alone, fear from superstitions…

Fear of house fires, fear of suffocation, fear of bad news, fear of shame, fear of allergies, fear of the dark, fear of evil, fear of change, fear of criticism, and fear of the future, the big one.

Yahushua told us not to fear. He says:

Matthew 10:24 – A disciple is not above [his] teacher, nor a servant above his master.

25 – It is enough for a disciple that he be like his teacher, and a servant like his master. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more [will they call] those of his household!

Why do you think Yahushua was saying these words? Why do you think He is saying this? Because He knows that people have problems with fearing man and what men say about them and become anxious about what people will do and what people will say.

When Yahushua talked to Martha, He said, “Martha, you are very worried, very troubled, about many things. Only one thing is needed.” She was afraid the house and the things wouldn’t be together. He says, “Mary has chosen the good part, the thing that will not be taken away from her.” What? Hearing the words of Messiah. And that is where we need to be.

We need to put hearing the words of Messiah in its proper priority. You know, Martha was distracted by other things. Mary was focusing on the words that built up her faith. Martha was distracted by things that worried and troubled her.

But we know faith comes by hearing and hearing by the words of Elohim. The more we set our minds on Yahweh’s words, Yahweh opens our ears to the truth. We have to be aware. Both faith and fear are going to project into the future.

Fear says, “Look at all that may happen to you. You don’t want that to happen to you. You don’t want to suffer, do you?” Faith says, “I love Yahweh. Yahweh loves me. I feel secure in my relationship with Him. I’m not dealing with anxiety because I trust Yahweh.”

Now there are people who say, “Okay, Yahweh I trust. I have no problem. I can trust Yahweh. But, man… man… ah, phew, I don’t trust man. I don’t trust people.”

But a lot of that can be rooted in a problem spot in our relationship with Yahweh, actually, because if we are content with the belief that Yahweh loves us and accepts us, and that is all we really need and that is all that really matters, when men reject us, it is, you know, not surprising. It doesn’t impact us that much.

“If they call the master of the house Beelzebub, what do you expect them to call me?”

But If we don’t have that security in our relationship with Yahweh, we may actually struggle with the fear of man, also, because we have nowhere else to turn if we want to receive love, nowhere else to turn if we don’t receive acceptance and worth from Yahweh.

And so, we are looking to man to receive our acceptance and our worth. And that is pretty much where most of the world is. Men and women are constantly seeking approval from other people because they do not have a good relationship and a healthy relationship with their Father in heaven and they really have nowhere else to turn.

You know, actually, Israel struggled with that very thing. And even though they had all kinds of problems with sin, Yahweh encouraged them. He encouraged them to fear not.

What did Yahushua say? He said a disciple is not above his teacher. He suffered also.

Isaiah 53:3 – He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, [our] faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.

We didn’t. He knows what it is like to be rejected. Been there, done that, right? Been there, done that. He has been rejected.

So, how about us? Are we going to allow fear to come in or are we going to listen to Yahweh’s words? What does Yahweh’s Word say? Who does Yahweh say that we are? Who does He say you are? Let’s take a look.

Isaiah 41:9 – [You] whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, And called from its farthest regions, And said to you, `You [are] My servant, I have chosen you and have not cast you away:

Who is He talking to? He is talking to Israel, who seems to be troubled, questioning Yahweh’s love for them. He says, “Listen, I have chosen you and I have not cast you away.” If we are repentant believers in Messiah Yahushua, then this is us. We are Israel. And what is He telling us? He is telling us: “Fear not, for I am with you.”

Isaiah 41:10 – Fear not, for I [am] with you; Be not dismayed, for I [am] your Elohim. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

“I am with you.” The Most powerful Being in the universe is with you. “Be not dismayed, for I am your Mighty One. I will strengthen you.” With what? With His might, His power.

“Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” What is His righteous right hand? Yahushua Ha Mashiach is at His right hand. And by His righteousness, we are redeemed, we are cleansed, we are loved. And He wants to give us strength.

But we cannot fear. Fear stands in the way between us and us receiving all that Yahweh has for us.

Isaiah 41:11 – Behold, all those who were incensed against you Shall be ashamed and disgraced; They shall be as nothing, And those who strive with you shall perish.

“Behold, all those who were incensed against you.” That means the men, the people, who were incensed against you. What happens? They will be ashamed. They will be disgraced. They will be as nothing. “And those who strive with you shall perish.”

All of Israel was focusing on the fear of man. They had not embraced Yahweh’s love for them. And so, they struggled with the fear of man and what people said about them. And they did not have security in their relationship with the Father.

And we are in the same place of danger if we don’t also have security in our relationship with the Father. He says, “Listen, you are going to seek those people and not find them.”

Isaiah 41:12 – You shall seek them and not find them — Those who contended with you. Those who war against you Shall be as nothing, As a nonexistent thing.

13 – For I, YAHWEH your Elohim, will hold your right hand, Saying to you, `Fear not, I will help you.’

14 – Fear not, you worm Jacob, You men of Israel! I will help you, says YAHWEH And your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.

That is a promise! Do we embrace it? Can we receive it? Listen to those words. Yahweh knew their sin problems were really rooted in a lack of healthy fear toward Him and in an unhealthy fear toward the enemy. He says, “Fear not, I will help you.” Surely, He is telling us the same things today, “Don’t be afraid of men. I will help you.”

Things that men say about you, all the various ways they afflict you, all the rejection in the way they are trying to shame you, Yahweh is saying, “Fear not. What are you afraid of? I have taken you from the ends of the earth. I have called you from the farthest regions.

“I have said to you, ‘You are My servant. I have chosen you and I have not cast you away.’ I have not cast you way. Don’t be dismayed. I am your Mighty One. I’ll strengthen you. I’ll help you. I’ll uphold you with the Savior and Master Yahushua.”

These words, listen, I know. For some of you, these words are like water on dry and thirsty land. You have been oppressed by the rejection of men. You have suffered and you have walked in fear. “What are they going to do next? What is going to happen next?”

He says, “Fear not. Don’t be afraid. Look, My Son was rejected by men. He was despised. He was hated. They didn’t like Him. They didn’t think He was who He said He was.” Welcome to the neighborhood. It is the way it is. It is what we signed up for.

Yahushua said, “If the world hates you, guess what? It hated Me first. It hated Me before it hated you. You need to know that!”

John 15:18 – If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before [it hated] you.

19 – If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.

If you were of the world, well, yeah, the world would love its own. They would love you to death.

“But because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.” That is why. And a lot of times they don’t even know why they hate you. They just don’t like you because of who lives in you.

John 15:20 – Remember the word that I said to you, `A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also.

Listen to what Yahushua is saying, brothers and sisters. It’s okay if men reject you. You are in good company. It doesn’t mean Yahweh is rejecting you. It doesn’t mean Messiah is rejecting you. It’s okay if men are not loving you.

If your spouse does not love you, it doesn’t mean Yahweh doesn’t love you. If your spouse isn’t valuing you, it doesn’t mean Yahweh doesn’t value you. It’s all right if the world hates you. “It hated Me first,” He says. “Because I chose you out of the world, that is why the world hates you.”

What else did He say? “Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword.” Right?

Matthew 10:34 – Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword.

35 – For I have come to `set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law’;

36 – and `a man’s enemies [will be] those of his [own] household.’

Matthew 10:37 – He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.

If you don’t take up the stake and follow after Him, He says, “You are not worthy of Me.”

Matthew 10:38 – And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.

39 – He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.

40 – He who receives you receives Me, and he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me.

Beautiful, beautiful words from our Savior. Also, a little bit sad, but that is the way it is. Come to expect it.

Paul says:

2Timothy 2:3 – You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Yahushua Messiah.

4 – No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of [this] life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier.

Of course, the enemy is going to inspire people to say all kinds of evil things, words of rejection. If someone rejects you, don’t view yourself as being so important that you are the reason why they reject you. The reason is bigger than you.

The enemy is working in them. He is trying to get them to hate you, to reject you, because he hates Messiah living in you. He is trying to work in those people through an unclean spirit and he is trying to get at you now.

What do the Scriptures say? We don’t have the spirit of fear. We don’t. We do not have the spirit of fear, because Elohim has not given that to us. He has given us power, love and a sound mind. But listen to the context here now, okay?

2Timothy 1:7 – For Elohim has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

8 – Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Master, nor of me His prisoner, but share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of Elohim,

“Therefore [because you don’t have the spirit of fear] do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Master, nor of me His prisoner.” This is Paul talking here. “But share with me in the sufferings for the good news according to the power of Elohim…

2Timothy 1:9 – who has saved us and called [us] with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Messiah Yahushua before time began,

Do you get that? Not according to our works did He save us and call us. He knew before time began He was going to give this to you. But do you see how the spirit of fear, in this instance, is actually contextually speaking of the fear of man? So don’t be ashamed. Don’t be afraid of what men are going to do, say or think.

We can’t be afraid. We can’t walk in fear of man. Dangerous, dangerous place to be.

It is not the only way the enemy can get you to fear. He can get you to fear all kinds of things. But it is a huge area and we must not be ashamed of Yahushua’s testimony or of the testimonies in Yahweh’s Law.

Scripture says:

Psalms 119:44 – So shall I keep Your law continually, Forever and ever.

45 – And I will walk at liberty, For I seek Your precepts.

46 – I will speak of Your testimonies also before kings, And will not be ashamed.

We cannot be ashamed of His Word, either, can we? Because Messiah is the Word, the Living Word made flesh that dwelt among us.

Rather, let’s glory in His testimonies. Let’s find glory in them. Isaiah 51, verse 7, says:

Isaiah 51:7 – Listen to Me, you who know righteousness, You people in whose heart [is] My law: Do not fear the reproach of men, Nor be afraid of their insults.

8 – For the moth will eat them up like a garment, And the worm will eat them like wool; But My righteousness will be forever, And My salvation from generation to generation.

So we can’t walk in fear. Don’t walk around like you are beneath everybody else in this world. The truth is you are the head and not the tail. You are above and not beneath, because you are seated in the heavenly places with Messiah.

I am not saying be arrogant and be prideful and be boastful… but in our weaknesses, He is strong, and in our humility, He is glorified.

Acts 5:40 – And they agreed with him, and when they had called for the apostles and beaten [them], they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Yahushua, and let them go.

I think we are going to see that again.

Acts 5:41 – So they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for His name.

So they departed from the presence of the council… in gloom and doom? No, in REJOICING that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for His name. Not everybody gets that honor. It is an honor to suffer shame for Yahweh. It is a blessing.

Acts 5:42 – And daily in the temple, and in every house, they did not cease teaching and preaching Yahushua [as] the Messiah.

They didn’t stop. They didn’t walk in fear. They continued teaching and preaching Yahushua the Messiah. See, names were a big deal in those days. Don’t be ashamed of Yahushua’s name or Yahweh’s name.

1Peter 4:14 – If you are reproached for the name of Messiah, blessed [are you], for the Spirit of glory and of Elohim rests upon you. On their part He is blasphemed, but on your part He is glorified.

It takes faith for us to believe Yahweh is pleased with our willingness to be rejected by men. It takes faith for us to say, “Even though they reject us, I know Yahweh loves me and accepts me.”

Never forget Yahushua was despised and rejected by man. And so, it is the same for us today. We just need to accept that is a part of our life in Messiah. And the truth is:

Proverbs 29:25 – The fear of man brings a snare, But whoever trusts in YAHWEH shall be safe.

We cannot walk in the fear of man or we walk right into a snare. What does a snare do? It traps you. It is hard to get out. Only Yahweh can deliver us as we hear His words and we walk away from the fear of man.

Ezekiel 2:6 – And you, son of man, do not be afraid of them nor be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns [are] with you and you dwell among scorpions; do not be afraid of their words or dismayed by their looks, though they [are] a rebellious house.

He warns the prophets over and over again: Don’t be afraid.

Psalms 118:6 – YAHWEH [is] on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?

Really, what can they do? Kill the body? That is it. Nothing else.

Psalms 27:1 – <> YAHWEH [is] my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? YAHWEH [is] the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?

2 – When the wicked came against me To eat up my flesh, My enemies and foes, They stumbled and fell.

3 – Though an army may encamp against me, My heart shall not fear; Though war should rise against me, In this I [will be] confident.

Imagine that! A whole army surrounds you, ready to look for you and destroy you. He says, “My heart shall not fear.”

Psalms 27:4 – One [thing] I have desired of YAHWEH, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of YAHWEH All the days of my life, To behold the beauty of YAHWEH, And to inquire in His temple.

Even if they kill me. So even if I die, guess where I am going? I am going to go to Yahweh’s house. HalleluYah! You are going to send me to Yahweh’s house sooner rather than later. Okay.

Psalms 27:5 – For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; In the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock.

That is His “sukkah,” in the Hebrew. He will hide me in His sukkah.

Romans 8:31 – What then shall we say to these things? If Elohim [is] for us, who [can be] against us?

1Peter 3:13 – And who [is] he who will harm you if you become followers of what is good?

14 – But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, [you are] blessed. And do not be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled.

15 – But sanctify YAHWEH Elohim in your hearts, and always [be] ready to [give] a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear;

1Peter 3:16 – having a good conscience, that when they defame you as evildoers, those who revile your good conduct in Messiah may be ashamed.

17 – For [it is] better, if it is the will of Elohim, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil.

18 – For Messiah also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to Elohim, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit,

And what did Yahushua say?

Luke 12:4 – And I say to you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.

Don’t be afraid of them.

Luke 12:5 – But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear Him who, after He has killed, has power to cast into hell; yes, I say to you, fear Him!

“Hell” = “Gehenna” or “the Lake of Fire.”

Luke 12:6 – Are not five sparrows sold for two copper coins? And not one of them is forgotten before Elohim.

He cares about the lives of animals. He does.

Luke 12:7 – But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.

He has your hairs numbered! Literally! He cares about you. He is saying you have value, you have worth. You are of more value than many sparrows. And look, if He takes care of them, He is going to take care of you, too. Don’t worry. So when they kill you… whatever… So He says:

Luke 12:8 – Also I say to you, whoever confesses Me before men, him the Son of Man also will confess before the angels of Elohim.

9 – But he who denies Me before men will be denied before the angels of Elohim.

It is that serious. We cannot walk in fear. We cannot be walking in ways that deny Him today. It might lead us to denying Him tomorrow.

If we are already struggling with fear of man and we kind of hide what we do, we kind of hide our faith, we kind of hide our walk, we don’t want to face reproach and shame, do you know what? We cannot be ashamed of Him or His words. We can’t be ashamed.

He says, “Let your light so shine before men.” Right? So we cannot fear. Not even fear death. If you are not supposed to fear death… wow… there are a lot of other things that are less severe than death we are not supposed to fear, I would say. Wouldn’t you?

And so, we were released from the fear of death.

Hebrews 2:14 – Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,

“He [that is Messiah] Himself likewise shared in the same [flesh and blood], that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil.” That is “had,” not “has.”

Hebrews 2:15 – and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

So in Messiah we are set free from the fear of death. We cannot view death as something that is awful and the most terrible thing in the world… but actually view death as, say, hey, you know what?

Philippians 1:21 – For to me, to live [is] Messiah, and to die [is] gain.

And Paul (this is Philippians 1:21-24), he said:

Philippians 1:22 – But if [I] live on in the flesh, this [will mean] fruit from [my] labor; yet what I shall choose I cannot tell.

23 – For I am hard pressed between the two, having a desire to depart and be with Messiah, [which is] far better.

It is better to die, he says.

Philippians 1:24 – Nevertheless to remain in the flesh [is] more needful for you.

Because they were benefiting from his ministry. And so, it is not wrong to continue to desire living in this life, especially for the benefit of those around us.

I know, myself, I would rather continue living. I have more things I want to accomplish. I want to continue to be a father to my children until they are raised and be a husband to my wife in leading her to Yahweh’s ways.

And, also, I have other things in ministry I want to do. And I want to overcome more things in my own life before I sit at the judgment seat of Messiah. I don’t think there is anything wrong with that. But if we truly believe what Yahweh’s Word tells us, we are not going to be held in bondage to the fear of death.

A fear of death can cause us to ultimately deny Messiah in some circumstances, and if we are already practicing that, what are they going to do? They are going to come after you. I mean, it is just a matter of time. A fear of death could consume us and ultimately it can steal your joy and your peace.

Look, men took up stones to stone Yahushua several times. And what happened? He went through the midst of them. He went about His way. It wasn’t His time. They tried to throw Him off a cliff. He wasn’t afraid of death, though He ran away from it. He knew His purpose when He came on the earth was to die for our sins, but He knew it wasn’t the time yet.

He knew He had more things Yahweh wanted Him to accomplish. And so, He said, “It’s okay to go from one place to another.”

Matthew 10:23a – When they persecute you in this city, flee to another.

That’s all right. Nothing wrong with doing whatever you can to escape death in the natural. Nothing wrong with that. But like I said earlier, you know, one time they let Paul down in a basket over a city wall. Nothing wrong with preserving yourself alive.

If there are evident opportunities to escape, of course, we should escape. But if there are no evident opportunities, we put our faith and trust in Yahweh. And Yahweh can even use our death to testify of Messiah Yahushua and His words to those who seek to destroy us for our faith. So even in our death we glorify Yahweh and more people come to faith.

Yahushua reproved His disciples when they feared death rather than have faith. He said:

Matthew 8:23 – Now when He got into a boat, His disciples followed Him.

24 – And suddenly a great tempest arose on the sea, so that the boat was covered with the waves. But He was asleep.

25 – Then His disciples came to [Him] and awoke Him, saying, Master, save us! We are perishing!

Matthew 8:26 – But He said to them, Why are you fearful, O you of little faith? Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm.

He says, “Why are you fearful?” We are supposed to walk in faith. Why would you even be afraid of death to begin with? You are with Messiah after that, right? For us.

But we see it is a dangerous place because Scripture does say:

Revelation 21:8 – But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.

This Greek word translated “cowardly” and the Greek word translated “fearful” are actually the same word.

“Unbelieving”… We don’t believe Yahweh’s Word, but we believe the enemy’s words.

Now I am not trying to say this to condemn people. I am just saying I am delivering the mail here. It is a serious thing. It is a sin to walk in fear and anxiety and we need to overcome it.

Now someone might say, “Well, you know, I’ll tell you. If Messiah is with me in the boat, and the winds were coming and the waves were coming, I wouldn’t have a problem if a storm comes. If Yahushua was with me in the house, and a tornado was headed this way, I wouldn’t be afraid.”

But do we have the faith to believe not only in the Messiah is with us, but He actually dwells in us, He lives in us, whether you are in a boat, your house, your car, wherever you are? The truth is He actually dwells in us. Scripture says so: “It is no longer I who live. It is Messiah who lives in me.”

But it is when we lose sight of that, fear begins to grip us, wants to take your eyes off Messiah. Like Peter did. He walked down in the wind and waves when Messiah walked on water. As long as he kept his eyes on Messiah, he was just fine.

But when the wind and waves started kicking up, he says, “Oh, Master, save me. I’m falling. I’m going to drown.” And we look at the world around us, and the waves and the things that we begin to fear come upon us, because we are not keeping our eyes fixed on the Savior, Messiah Yahushua.

It may actually have been the open door through which Job, who was otherwise considered to be a righteous man, had an issue with. It says:

Job 3:25 – For the thing I greatly feared has come upon me, And what I dreaded has happened to me.

That may have been the open door through which the enemy was able to walk– when we fear.

When we fear, the enemy may bring about the very thing we do fear. The enemy is capable of appearing as an angel of light, but yet he and his demons try to appear as frightful and scary-looking creatures, because they want to make you afraid of them and intimidate you.

Satan and his demons, dragons, serpents, desire that we would fear them rather than fearing Yahweh. And when we choose to fear them, we are not acting in faith anymore.

So Job, rather than focusing his attention on the enemy and what he was capable of doing to him, he chose to accredit his circumstances to Yahweh, and say, “Look, Yahweh is in ultimate control. He can choose to allow the enemy to harm me. He can choose to allow the enemy to not harm me. But one thing I know.” What did he say?

Job 13:15 – Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him. Even so, I will defend my own ways before Him.

Even if He slayed me, yet I will trust Him. Because the truth is, Yahweh may allow the enemy to do things to us because we are fearing the enemy rather than fearing Yahweh and having faith in Yahweh. He is in control. And so, Satan asks for us, saying, “Hey, this guy is more afraid of me than he is of You.”

Brothers, we have authority over the enemy in Messiah Yahushua. He is not the one we need to fear. Yahweh is the One we need to fear, not the enemy.

Death is not what we have to fear. Suffering is not something we even need to fear. We are called to suffer for Messiah’s sake.

If we are afraid of death, death may actually be at our door sooner rather than later because, as I shared in this segment and previous videos, fear and anxiety can actually produce disease medically.

And so, we take into consideration all the Scriptures that tell us, “Look what? You are called to suffer. It is part of life here on the earth.” But it is the worst hell you are going to ever have. This is it. This is the worst it can get. For the unbeliever, it doesn’t get any better than this.

So if we do not accept this, fear can overtake us. If we do accept this, we can begin the journey toward walking in faith rather than fear and timidity. The wrong kind of fear is a curse that comes upon us as a result of disobedience and people end up fearing something that is not even chasing them down.

What does Scripture say?

Proverbs 28:1 – The wicked flee when no one pursues, But the righteous are bold as a lion.

I look at that and I think about that Scripture, you know. I’ll look back. I was afraid of something and, “Oh, man!” and I come to find out, it wasn’t anything at all. It was just my own head, my own imagination. Or the enemy coming along and saying, “Oh, look what happens here. What’s going to happen there?”

And so, the wicked flee. No one is even chasing them. But the righteous were bold. They were not afraid. Because the truth is:

Psalms 23:4 – Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You [are] with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

We have a place of refuge, a Strong Tower, and Elohim is worthy of our trust.

2 – Therefore we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed, And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;

3 – [Though] its waters roar [and] be troubled, [Though] the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah

Psalms 46:4 – [There is] a river whose streams shall make glad the city of Elohim, The holy [place] of the tabernacle of the Most High.

5 – Elohim [is] in the midst of her, she shall not be moved; Elohim shall help her, just at the break of dawn.

6 – The nations raged, the kingdoms were moved; He uttered His voice, the earth melted.

Psalms 46:7 – YAHWEH of hosts [is] with us; The Elohim of Jacob [is] our refuge. Selah

8 – Come, behold the works of YAHWEH, Who has made desolations in the earth.

9 – He makes wars cease to the end of the earth; He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two; He burns the chariot in the fire.

Psalms 46:10 – Be still, and know that I [am] Elohim; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!

11 – YAHWEH of hosts [is] with us; The Elohim of Jacob [is] our refuge. Selah

Let’s make the Elohim of Jacob our refuge. Let’s be still and know from the depths of our heart He is Elohim and He is in control. Let’s say, “Yahweh is with us. The Elohim of Jacob is our refuge.”

Psalms 46:7 – YAHWEH of hosts [is] with us; The Elohim of Jacob [is] our refuge. Selah

8 – Come, behold the works of YAHWEH, Who has made desolations in the earth.

Pay Attention!

Psalms 42:5 – Why are you cast down, O my soul? And [why] are you disquieted within me? Hope in Elohim, for I shall yet praise Him [For] the help of His countenance.

6 – O my Elohim, my soul is cast down within me; Therefore I will remember You from the land of the Jordan, And from the heights of Hermon, From the Hill Mizar.

7 – Deep calls unto deep at the noise of Your waterfalls; All Your waves and billows have gone over me.

Psalms 42:8 – YAHWEH will command His lovingkindness in the daytime, And in the night His song [shall be] with me — A prayer to the Elohim of my life.

Yahweh is the Elohim of our life. Let us allow His song to be with us in the night.

One of the most powerful weapons against fear are the psalms, music. It drove the unclean spirit, the distressing spirit, from King Saul. It drove out the enemies of Yahushaphat when he placed those who praised Yahweh on the front lines of the army.

And brothers, thanksgiving and praise– what does it say? Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, with praise, give it to Yahweh.

Yahushua says:

Luke 12:32 – Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

Even though you are a small people, don’t be afraid.

Luke 12:33 – Sell what you have and give alms; provide yourselves money bags which do not grow old, a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches nor moth destroys.

And so, remember, this world is temporary. There is nothing to fear. We may be a little flock, but Yahweh’s good pleasure is to give us the Kingdom. Let’s put our investments, therefore, into that– our time, our money, our energy, our thoughts, our hopes, our dreams, our expectations, our desires, our wants, our lives– into the Kingdom of Yahweh.

For that is the only thing that will endure. It is the only thing that will not be destroyed. Everything else is going to be destroyed, even the heaven and the earth.

Psalms 34:1 – <> I will bless YAHWEH at all times; His praise [shall] continually [be] in my mouth.

2 – My soul shall make its boast in YAHWEH; The humble shall hear [of it] and be glad.

3 – Oh, magnify YAHWEH with me, And let us exalt His name together.

Psalms 34:4 – I sought YAHWEH, and He heard me, And delivered me from all my fears.

And what happened? “He delivered me from all my fears.” When you seek Yahweh, He will deliver you from your fears.

And so, I want to add some additional tools to your arsenal today. Scripture says Yahushua has released you. He has released you from the fear of death. It says:

Hebrews 2:15 – and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

He has released you from a fear of death. Scripture says you don’t have to fear rejection of men. You don’t have to fear death. Yahweh loves you, accepts you.

Yahushua said, “Hey, if the world hates you, guess what? It hated Me first. If you were of the world, it would love you. But I chose you out of the world. That is why they hate you.”

John 15:18 – If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before [it hated] you.

19 – If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.

Scripture says He wants to give you shalom when you praise, when you pray, when you are content.

Philippians 4:6 – Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to Elohim;

7 – and the peace of Elohim, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Messiah Yahushua.

I want you to know something. If you are dealing with fear and anxiety, you don’t have to live that way. You don’t. Because you are not in bondage to it. Yahushua is just sitting there waiting on you to believe His words. That’s all. Just believe.

Some people believe they have to live with it, it is such a part of them they just don’t have much choice. The first step, though, to recognition of how to overcome this is to know where the enemy is sitting and where he is doing his work. He wants to hide in secret and think these thoughts are you, they are a part of you.

No, they are his. And if you are losing your peace, if there is a moment where you are losing your peace, you feel anxiety building up within inside of you, fear rising up in your heart of some circumstance, some situation, some kind of thought entering your mind, here is what you do…

If you are feeling anxiety rise up in your heart:

1. Recognize lying words are from satan trying to get you to fear. Try to identify what those lying words are.

2. Realize if there are not any particular words causing fear– you don’t see any, you don’t recognize any– there can be an inner turmoil in the heart coming from a lie that you have erased a long time ago and you don’t even know what it is. And you are accepting and it’s producing fear. It is producing anxiety. And you don’t even know it.

“Yahweh, show us.” That is what you do. You pray, “Yahweh show me where it is at. Where is this coming from? Is there a lie in my heart saying that You don’t care about me, I have no worth, and so evil things are in my future? Have I embraced that at some point?”

3. The spirit of fear is wanting to manifest itself through you. It is a spiritual attack, but there could be roots behind it from believing the enemy’s words at some point in the past. It has to be confessed. It could even be from a parent and it is passed down not even realizing it. Here is what you need to remember:

Proverbs 3:5 – Trust in YAHWEH with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;

6 – In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

7 – Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear YAHWEH and depart from evil.

Proverbs 3:8 – It will be health to your flesh, And strength to your bones.

Here is the pathway to healing.

Now there is something very important that we need to grasp and to understand. I have a whole study on this topic, but for now, I am going to give you a basic rundown here.

We need to realize the truth that we are already dead. That is right. You can’t kill a dead man, right? You are already dead. So if something happens to you and you died, well, you are already dead in your mind anyway. Why?

Romans 6, verses 8 through 10, says:

Romans 6:8 – Now if we died with Messiah, we believe that we shall also live with Him,

9 – knowing that Messiah, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him.

10 – For [the death] that He died, He died to sin once for all; but [the life] that He lives, He lives to Elohim.

Now if you died with Him, guess what? We are going to live with Him. We know this. Messiah is raised from the dead. He can’t die anymore. And so, if something happens and you die, Yahushua will raise you right back up again and you will be with Him forever. You will live with Him.

Just as Yahushua was not deserving of death, and therefore He was raised, we, also, because of Who dwells in us, are no longer deserving of death. I am talking about eternal death and damnation. And so, if we died in the flesh, we live again. We already regard the flesh as dead anyway. We already regard it as dead, as gone… history.

So Romans 6:11 says:

Romans 6:11 – Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to Elohim in Messiah Yahushua our Master.

12 – Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts.

Fear, anxiety, lack of faith. Whatever is of faith is not sin. Don’t obey those unclean spirits. Don’t obey them. Don’t listen to them.

Romans 6:13 – And do not present your members [as] instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to Elohim as being alive from the dead, and your members [as] instruments of righteousness to Elohim.

14 – For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.

What does it mean to be under the Law? That means that you are condemned because the Law is over you condemning you. But the Law is not over you condemning you. Now the Law of Yahweh is dwelling in you. Yahushua the Messiah is the Living Word of Yahweh, made flesh and dwelt among us.

And so, you are under grace. Whatever sins you have committed, you are purified, because of the Messiah who dwells in you. And that sin does not have power over you. And one of those sins is fear and anxiety because it is not of faith.

And so, reckon yourselves already dead to those things. “To fear and anxiety, I’m already dead to that.” That is what it says: “Reckon yourselves to be dead to sin.”

“I’m dead to all that stuff. I don’t listen to that garbage coming from the enemy. I don’t listen to it. I reject that in Yahushua’s name. I have already been crucified with Messiah.”

Galatians 2:20 – I have been crucified with Messiah; it is no longer I who live, but Messiah lives in me; and the [life] which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of Elohim, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

I just simply live by faith in the Son of Elohim, who loved me and gave Himself for me. I am already there. Hey, you can kill me if you want to, but I’ll just be raised right back up again when Messiah comes. The next thing I’m going to know… I mean, it might be fifty years passed before Messiah comes and I died, but to me, it will be instant.

Likewise, reckon yourselves dead to sin. That is what we have to do. We are already dead to it. Regard that sin as gone– history. No more. If we died with Messiah, we believe we are going to be raised with Him. We are going to be raised with Him. Do we believe that?

It is what we signed up for, brothers and sisters. We have to be willing to die, willing to suffer, willing to be rejected by men. Yahushua suffered and was rejected by men. We realize death is not something to fear. But to me, to live is Messiah and to die is gain.

So here is what I want you to do. When these things, or if these things, make their way into thoughts that get deposited into your head from the enemy, temptations: “I reject that fear statement in the name of Yahushua the Messiah! I am choosing to believe in Yahweh’s word.”

“I am choosing to trust in Yahweh with all my heart, and lean not unto my own understanding; I am choosing to acknowledge Him in all my ways, trusting He will direct my paths. I don’t want to be wise in my own eyes; I want to fear Yahweh and depart from evil.

“I don’t want to fear the future. I know when I fear Yahweh, when I trust Him, when I acknowledge Him, when I lean onto Him– not my own understanding– I will be healthy again. I will receive strength in my bones again. I know it and I am going to do it. I do it now. Right here, right now. I do it.”

2Corinthians 10:3 – For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh.

4 – For the weapons of our warfare [are] not carnal but mighty in Elohim for pulling down strongholds,

5 – casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of Elohim, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Messiah,

That is what we are going to do right there. We are going to go to war. We are going to defeat the spirit of fear by the power of the living Elohim in us.

By our FAITH, we can defeat the enemy of fear. Our faith in what? Our faith in Yahweh… Our faith in His words… Our faith in what He says is true and what the enemy says are lies. That is what we are going to do, reckon ourselves as dead to those things that previously had power over us and no longer do.

So if you feel anxiety rising up:

1. Realize it is lying words from Satan trying to get you to fear. That is what it is.

2. If there are not any particular words causing fear, there is inner turmoil in the heart coming from a lie that you are accepting and it’s producing fear and anxiety. The lie: Yahweh doesn’t care about you, and you have no worth. Evil things are in your future. Those are all lies.

3. The spirit of fear wants to manifest itself through you. It is a spiritual attack. You must reject it in Yahushua’s name. And any roots behind it from believing the enemy’s words at some point in the past, seek deliverance.

So here we go…

Assignments to defeat Fear/Anxiety:

1. Take responsibility. If we are going to defeat this thing, we are going to take responsibility and repent for not trusting in Yahweh. Renounce all unscriptural fear and anxiety and reject every spirit of fear. Renounce the spirit of fear. Do it.

“I renounce the spirit of fear. I take responsibility for not trusting in Yahweh. I renounce all unscriptural fear and anxiety. I reject every spirit of fear. I renounce it in the name of Yahushua Ha Mashiach. And I repent.” Take responsibility and repent.

2. “I want to confess the sins of my parents and my grandparents who may have believed and embraced and walked in the spirit of fear.”

3. “And then I am going to retrain and rewire my mind.” Maybe you have to listen to this study over and over and over again if needed.

I know a lady– I did a study on fear and anxiety years ago– she must have played that study every single day, I think it was for a month. She listened to it every day, and maybe longer than a month, until finally, her brain got rewired and redone.

But I will tell you what is even more powerful is to do your own personal study on fear and anxiety. I’ll tell you, because it means so much more when you discover His word on your own.

Do a topical study. Look up all the Scriptures on fear, anxiousness, and let Yahweh show you directly rather than Him showing somebody else, who in turn shows you.

When I am speaking, it does have an impact. You can hear it over and over again, and realize, “Okay, this is Yahweh’s Word telling me this. So, therefore, we got it.” But when He personally shows you things, it builds your faith and it is easier to remember. So do your own study on fear as well.

4. Be willing to battle against temptations to fear. This is a spiritual battle. Be ready for it.

When the fear statements come in and the temptation to fear comes, we are going to say:

1. “I reject that in Yahushua’s name. I am dead to that. I died to that. When I received Messiah, I went down in the baptismal waters. The dead man, he is in the water. He floated down the river. He is gone. I reject all those things in Yahushua’s name.”

I will say, most of the time when temptations come of any sort, if you say, “I reject that in Yahushua’s name,” especially when you say it out loud, it goes away. I mean, I just know it does. It happens a lot.

2. You are going to say: “No, I choose to believe in the good news of Yahushua, that it is no longer I who live, it is Yahushua who lives in me. And that life which I now live, I live by faith in the Son of Elohim who loved me and gave Himself for me.”

3. If I suffer, I am called to suffer. I am called to bear the marks of Messiah. Get behind me satan, Yahweh rebuke you, for it is written…

Proverbs 3:5 – Trust in YAHWEH with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;

6 – In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

7 – Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear YAHWEH and depart from evil.

Proverbs 3:8 – It will be health to your flesh, And strength to your bones.

I am choosing to not be wise in my own eyes. I am going to fear Yahweh and depart from evil, and receive the health that comes from that, and the strength to my bones that comes from that.

It doesn’t have to be this Scripture. It can be any Scripture that compels you to trust, that speaks to your heart.

4. And finally, call upon the name of Yahweh. “Yahweh, deliver me from my enemies. I am being attacked by the enemy. Deliver me.”

And you look at the psalms that David had written: “Oh, Yahweh, deliver me from my enemies.” Satan the devil is your enemy today. He was then, too. He still is today.

And ask Yahweh to deliver you from your enemies, and if you have to, stay in prayer. Stay in that prayer closet until deliverance comes. Even if it takes an hour, stay in the prayer closet until deliverance comes.

You out strength the enemy. You outwit him. He gets tired of dealing with you. He gets tired of fighting you and he goes away. If you resist the devil, he flees from you. Because, listen, the name of Yahweh is a strong tower. We can run to it and we are safe.

Proverbs 18:10 – The name of YAHWEH [is] a strong tower; The righteous run to it and are safe.

5. And finally, praise Yahweh! Give praise. Give honor. Start singing the melodies in your heart, the things that build up the person for faith, rather than just sitting around listening to these words of fear.

These are some tools you can put in your arsenal. If you use them, they are powerful– very, very powerful.

And I want to encourage you. We are going to pray here in just a minute. If anybody is still having struggles with fear… because we are going to move on to the next topic… but there may be something about you specifically that someone who is from the outside looking in can help you with.

And this is what it is all about. We are called to bear each other’s burdens. And if you are struggling with this, you are not the only person in the world dealing with it. You don’t have to be ashamed. Contact me and I will put you in touch with an elder who can help you out: disciple@eliyah.com. I encourage you to do that.

In the meantime, we are going to go ahead and offer a word of prayer as we close out our study portion for today…

Thank You, Father Yahweh, for Your love toward us. Thank You for Yahushua Ha Mashiach who died for us. Thank You for the fact that we know You value us, in that while we were yet sinners, Yahushua died for us.

And, Father Yahweh, we come to You, in the name of Yahushua. We desire Your Kingdom to be established in us. We desire Your Word to be established in us. We desire Your provision, Your Word, to manifest itself through our actions, through our thoughts and our deeds.

And, Father Yahweh, we recognize any of us who have been dealing with fear, recognize that this is a sin in Your eyes, and we confess it as sin before You, knowing that if we confess our sins, You are faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).

And we renounce every spirit of fear seeking to kill and to steal and to destroy, seeking to take us away from You and Your words. We reject them as lies, in the name of Yahushua Ha Mashiach. We want no part of them. We recognize we are dead already. We don’t have to fear death. It is a pathway to Your presence, a pathway to Your temple.

And we ask Your forgiveness, Father Yahweh, any of us struggling with fear and anxiety, and our parents. If we have parents who have struggled with fear and anxiety, who believe the spirits of fear, we confess that as sin in Your eyes. We want no part of that. We want nothing to do with it.

We want You, Father Yahweh, to renew our minds and fill us with Your faith, with Your love, with Your presence, with Your kind and loving Spirit, with Your gentleness, with Your longsuffering. We choose to believe in Your Word.

And, Father Yahweh, we ask that You would accept our prayer now for deliverance. The enemy has attacked Your people, Father. Look at what he is doing. He is attacking Your people. And we know You are stronger than he. We know that He who is in us is greater than he who is in the world.

And we, Father Yahweh, as Yahushua instructed us to pray after we ask for forgiveness, keep us from temptation, keep us from the evil one, protect us, put the hedge back around us again and do not let the enemy speak to us anymore. Father, we embrace Your words to trust You.

And we know, Father Yahweh, You are the most powerful Being in the universe. You are worthy of our trust. For truly Yours is the Kingdom and power and glory and majesty, and all praise and honor and worship belongs to You, Yahweh Elohenu, forever and ever.

In Yahushua’s name. Amein.
