“Why Yahweh is So AWESOME! (Part 2)”
Praise Yahweh! We are going to continue the theme of last week. We could probably continue this theme until next year and go into all the details of why Yahweh is just so awesome.
And we covered last week various evidences for creation, the amazing facts about the universe, the awesome world inside the cells of our body, the jaw-dropping design of our bodies (just the ear alone is mind blowing!), the detailed design of Yahweh’s creatures.
We spoke of the remarkable preservation of Yahweh’s Word along with the historical and scientific accuracy of Yahweh’s Word. We examined the internal witness of Yahweh’s Word and all that that entails. We could go on for weeks and weeks and weeks on that point alone.
But we also showed how the teachings of Scripture fit together so logically and so beautifully. And we are going to cover a lot of ground today, a lot of scripture. We probably have a hundred and forty or more scriptures to go over. I mean, there is so much to talk about.
But we are going to do a rapid fire examination of Yahweh’s awesomeness in terms of His character and who He is, what His nature is, His attributes and everything as to why He is so awesome.
And probably the reasons I share today are even more significant than what I shared last week because this week I want to talk about Him and His person and what He is about– the things about Him that make Him so amazing and so absolutely wonderful. So we are going to make our boast in Yahweh again this week.
Sometimes you will hear a person, you know, they meet a potential marriage partner and they just go on and on about how great they are, right? And they talk about their attributes and the things that make them so amazing and all these things. Well, let me tell you something….
If there is anything at all that is good in us, anything that is good– a good character quality that you happen to like about a person that truly is a genuinely good and positive character quality– that is Him. That is Yahweh. That is Yahushua the Messiah. Anything that is good is Him because He is the Author of all goodness and righteousness.
And He alone is completely good. He alone is ultimately glorious. Psalm 113, verse 4, says:
Psalms 113:4 -YAHWEH [is] high above all nations, His glory above the heavens.
5 – Who [is] like YAHWEH our Elohim, Who dwells on high,
6 – Who humbles Himself to behold [The things that are] in the heavens and in the earth?
Yahweh is so awesome. All the pictures I showed you last week of the things in the heavens, Yahweh has to humble Himself to even look at it. That is how awesome He is! He humbles Himself to behold the things that are in the heavens and in the earth.
So I will meditate on the glorious splendor of Your majesty, Yahweh, and on Your wondrous works today. That is what I want to do.
Psalms 145:5 – I will meditate on the glorious splendor of Your majesty, And on Your wondrous works.
And that is what we are called to do. That is what we are supposed to do.
It is not just what we do for Him. (We spend a lot of time on what we are supposed to do for Him.) We are going to look at who He is today and we are going to praise Him. And we are going to talk about the things He is and the things He has done and will do for us.
Scripture says:
Psalms 145:10 -All Your works shall praise You, O YAHWEH, And Your saints shall bless You.
11 – They shall speak of the glory of Your kingdom, And talk of Your power,
12 – To make known to the sons of men His mighty acts, And the glorious majesty of His kingdom.
That is what we are going to do today.
Psalms 24:7 -Lift up your heads, O you gates! And be lifted up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in.
8 – Who [is] this King of glory? YAHWEH strong and mighty, YAHWEH mighty in battle.
9 – Lift up your heads, O you gates! Lift up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in.
Psalms 24:10 -Who is this King of glory? YAHWEH of hosts, He [is] the King of glory. Selah
Psalms 145:3 -Great [is] YAHWEH, and greatly to be praised; And His greatness [is] unsearchable.
You can’t even search it all out. We can talk about it. We can look at it. But we will not be able to thoroughly exhaust all of His attributes and all of His greatness.
His glory is above and beyond anything you looked at in space and outer space and anything you could look at in the tiniest cell. His glory is even greater than that. In fact, He has to humble Himself to even look at it.
Think about that a minute. I mean, you want to talk about an awesome, powerful Being! You know, Yahweh, when He revealed Himself to Israel, when He showed Himself to be so very different than all the idols of the surrounding nations… all the foreign idols, these so-called “gods,” were typically doing very carnal things.
I mean, you read Greek mythology and just things those “gods” were doing was just sick. I mean, committing incest with their mother and bearing children and murdering each other and fighting each other for supremacy. Scriptures reveal that Yahweh never needs to fight anybody for supremacy. He already is the Most High. He already is the Supreme Being.
And unlike the idols of the nations which acknowledge the existence of other gods, Yahweh declared He Himself alone is Elohim.
Isaiah 46:5 -To whom will you liken Me, and make [Me] equal And compare Me, that we should be alike?
6 – They lavish gold out of the bag, And weigh silver on the scales; They hire a goldsmith, and he makes it a god; They prostrate themselves, yes, they worship.
7 – They bear it on the shoulder, they carry it And set it in its place, and it stands; From its place it shall not move. Though [one] cries out to it, yet it cannot answer Nor save him out of his trouble.
It can’t.
Isaiah 46:8 -Remember this, and show yourselves men; Recall to mind, O you transgressors.
9 – Remember the former things of old, For I [am] Elohim, and [there is] no other; [I am] Elohim, and [there is] none like Me,
10 – Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times [things] that are not [yet] done, Saying, `My counsel shall stand, And I will do all My pleasure,’
See, the idols of the nations were pretty much all sinners. I mean, you read about them and it is sick. They were enslaved to their carnal passions and desires. And, actually, it was fitting, because the things which the Gentiles worshipped were actually demons.
1Corinthians 10:19 -What am I saying then? That an idol is anything, or what is offered to idols is anything?
20 – Rather, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice they sacrifice to demons and not to Elohim, and I do not want you to have fellowship with demons.
21 – You cannot drink the cup of YAHWEH and the cup of demons; you cannot partake of YAHWEH’S table and of the table of demons.
That is because Yahweh is holy. And unlike the idols of all those generations in years gone passed, which didn’t seem to mind when a pagan would worship other gods as well, Yahweh demanded that He alone is worthy of our devotion and worship.
And so, listen, with all those Greek mythologies and all the things that were going on in the pagan world, how on earth could such an amazing creation have come together in such incredible harmony and unity? We are talking about… I mean… it is impossible.
And that is why most of those religions never survived the test of time or the test of science or the test of historicity or anything.
And so, actually, the teachings of Scripture match up when explained why the idols of other nations behaved the way they did, because demons are not going to care if you worship other demons as long as you are not worshipping Yahweh alone.
And the nations, of course, they would walk in the image of their idols by imitating the sinful behavior seen by these demon idols and the demonically inspired mythological tales.
And so, unlike the idols of the nations, Yahweh declared that He is holy, He is just and He is righteous in His conduct.
Deuteronomy 32:3 -For I proclaim the name of YAHWEH: Ascribe greatness to our Elohim.
4 – [He is] the Rock, His work [is] perfect; For all His ways [are] justice, A Elohim of truth and without injustice; Righteous and upright [is] He.
All His ways are “judgment,” or “justice.”
And unlike the idols of the nations, which typically had limits to their power, Yahweh declared there is no limit to His power. There is no limit. There is no limitation to the power of the living Elohim.
Job 42:2 -I know that You can do everything, And that no purpose [of Yours] can be withheld from You.
Nothing! In reality, the only limitation that Elohim has is limitations He places on Himself. And that is one of the most amazing attributes of Yahweh. There is literally no limit to His power except the limitations He puts on Himself.
There is no outside force putting a limitation on Him. There is nothing that is too difficult for Him.
Jeremiah 32:17 – `Ah, Master YAHWEH! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You.
Nothing!
Isaiah 26:4 -Trust in YAHWEH forever, For in YAH, YAHWEH, [is] everlasting strength.
Yahushua said:
Luke 1:37 -For with Elohim nothing will be impossible.
Nothing!
Revelation 19:6 -And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia! For YAHWEH Elohim Omnipotent reigns!
Speaking of Elohim, this word “Elohim” in the Hebrew, do you know what that has to do with? Most translations will translate this “the Lord God,” where the English word “God” is the translation of the Hebrew word “Elohim.”
Now look at the meaning of the English word “God” in the typical dictionary. It says: God [god] – 1. The one Supreme Being, the creator and ruler of the universe. (Source: Random House dictionary at dictionary.com) That is the typical definition, but if you look in a Bible dictionary, they will actually tell you it means something different.
For instance, Easton’s Bible Dictionary says: (A.S. and Dutch God; Dan. Gud; Ger. Gott), the name of the Divine Being. It is the rendering (1) of the Hebrew ‘El,’ from a word meaning to be strong; (2) of ‘Eloah,’ plural ‘Elohim.’ The singular form, ‘Eloah,’ is used only in poetry. (Source: Easton Bible Dictionary at dictionary.com)
“To be strong.” That is what the word means. It has to do with power and strength. This is the root meaning. And if I said that you were strong or you were mighty, that would not mean you are the Supreme Being.
If I said that you were “elohim,” in the Hebrew language, that would not mean you are the Supreme Being. It just means you are powerful and strong.
Now those who translated our Bibles decided to translate the words “El” and “Elohim,” typically, as this Greek word “God,” but it is actually a mistranslation.
They were not consistent with their translation. For example, the word “elohim” is actually found in this verse:
Genesis 23:5 -And the sons of Heth answered Abraham, saying to him,
6 – Hear us, my lord: You [are] a mighty prince among us; bury your dead in the choicest of our burial places. None of us will withhold from you his burial place, that you may bury your dead.
Did you know that this word here (“mighty”) is “elohim”? The word translated “mighty” is “elohim.”
Genesis 30:8 -Then Rachel said, With great wrestlings I have wrestled with my sister, [and] indeed I have prevailed. So she called his name Naphtali.
The word there (“great”) is “elohim” in the Hebrew, the same word translated “God” like 2300 times.
Exodus 21:6 -then his master shall bring him to the judges. He shall also bring him to the door, or to the doorpost, and his master shall pierce his ear with an awl; and he shall serve him forever.
This word “judges” actually is the Hebrew word “elohim.”
Jonah 3:3 -So Jonah arose and went to Nineveh, according to the word of YAHWEH. Now Nineveh was an exceedingly great city, a three-day journey [in extent].
That is the Hebrew word “elohim,” once again. So they were not consistent in their translation, and I don’t think that the word “god” is an accurate translation of the Hebrew word “elohim.”
Look here, the Hebrew word “el,” from which we get the word “elohim,” is found in this verse:
Proverbs 3:27 -Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, When it is in the power of your hand to do [so].
The “power,” or the “el,” of thine hand to do it.
Nehemiah 5, verse 5:
Nehemiah 5:5 -Yet now our flesh [is] as the flesh of our brethren, our children as their children; and indeed we are forcing our sons and our daughters to be slaves, and [some] of our daughters have been brought into slavery. [It is] not in our power [to redeem them], for other men have our lands and vineyards.
We see down here: “Neither is it in our ‘power’ to redeem them.”
And so, I actually think this is significant, and I will tell you why, because the contexts of these verses certainly do not give support to the idea that the word “el” or “elohim” means the “Supreme Being.” And therefore, the word “God” is not a good translation of the Hebrew word “Elohim.”
Now why do I think that is significant? Because I think we need to accurately translate the Hebrew. And so, it has to do with might and power and strength. If you are not going to translate, then just retain the Hebrew word “Elohim.”
But look here, Yahweh is our Mighty One. He is our strength. He is the one through whom we are able to get power.
Isaiah 45:21 -Tell and bring forth [your case]; Yes, let them take counsel together. Who has declared this from ancient time? [Who] has told it from that time? [Have] not I, YAHWEH? And [there is] no other Elohim besides Me, A just Elohim and a Savior; [There is] none besides Me.
1Corinthians 8:4 -Therefore concerning the eating of things offered to idols, we know that an idol [is] nothing in the world, and that [there is] no other Elohim but one.
5 – For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as there are many gods and many lords),
Here I have translated “elohim” as “mighty ones.”
1Corinthians 8:6 -yet for us [there is] one Elohim, the Father, of whom [are] all things, and we for Him; and one Master Yahushua Messiah, through whom [are] all things, and through whom we [live].
So given the fact that Elohim, commonly translated “God,” is one of the most commonly used words, probably THE most commonly used word to describe the attribute of Yahweh, it is so important that we get it right and that we really understand the significance of it.
Because to say that Yahweh is our Elohim– our Mighty One, our Strong One, the One through Whom we are able to be strong– to say He is the Mighty One, He is the One, ultimately, therefore, worthy of our faith, of our trust, of our hope.
And whenever we are faced with trials and difficulties, we can look for the Strong One, and say, “Yahweh, You are my Strong One. You are my Mighty One through Whom I am able to be strong.” It is connected to faith because to say Yahweh is your Mighty One is to say He is the One that you are going to put your faith in.
He is the One you are going to look to if you want to overcome temptation or be delivered or need strength. Yahweh is the only true Strong One because all strength and power and might and spirit and love and light and everything there is comes from Him. And therefore, He is also the One that we ought to fear.
Scripture says if we fear Him, we are actually going to gain one of His attributes.
Proverbs 9:10 -The fear of YAHWEH [is] the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One [is] understanding.
Wisdom is one of His attributes. When we fear Yahweh, we will want to learn what He desires of us. And in order to learn what He desires of us, we must read the Holy Scriptures that we might gain wisdom. And that is one of His attributes– His wisdom, His omniscience.
There is no limit whatsoever to the wisdom of Yahweh. None!
Psalms 147:5 -Great [is] our Master, and mighty in power; His understanding [is] infinite.
That means there would never be a time in any point in history where Yahweh would say, “Ok, I have taught you everything.” Because there is no limit to His understanding. It is infinite. It is hard to imagine that in our finite little minds that we have.
Jeremiah 51:15 -He has made the earth by His power; He has established the world by His wisdom, And stretched out the heaven by His understanding.
Science has confirmed, actually, the universe is expanding. Actually, another scripture says He is stretching out the heavens right now.
Proverbs 3:19 -YAHWEH by wisdom founded the earth; By understanding He established the heavens;
Obviously, considering all the intelligence there is in the world, the construction of everything… obviously, He is wise.
Isaiah 40:28 -Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting Elohim, YAHWEH, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable.
There is no limit to it.
Romans 11:33 -Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of Elohim! How unsearchable [are] His judgments and His ways past finding out!
Job 12:13 -With Him [are] wisdom and strength, He has counsel and understanding.
1Timothy 1:17 -Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, to Elohim who alone is wise, [be] honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.
Amein. Yahweh is so amazingly wise. He knows our every thought.
2 – You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off.
3 – You comprehend my path and my lying down, And are acquainted with all my ways.
Psalms 139:4 -For [there is] not a word on my tongue, [But] behold, O YAHWEH, You know it altogether.
5 – You have hedged me behind and before, And laid Your hand upon me.
6 – [Such] knowledge [is] too wonderful for me; It is high, I cannot [attain] it.
Psalms 139:7 -Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence?
8 – If I ascend into heaven, You [are] there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You [are there].
“Hell” or the “grave.”
Psalms 139:9 -[If] I take the wings of the morning, [And] dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
10 – Even there Your hand shall lead me, And Your right hand shall hold me.
11 – If I say, Surely the darkness shall fall on me, Even the night shall be light about me;
Psalms 139:12 -Indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You, But the night shines as the day; The darkness and the light [are] both alike [to You].
It is all the same. He is awesome! Yahweh is awesome. His knowledge is not even limited to time. It is not even limited to a particular place in time. In fact, in Jeremiah 1 verse 5 it says:
Jeremiah 1:5 -Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.
Talking to Jeremiah. He already knew you and me and all of us before we were even born. He knew us from the foundation of the world. That is why…
Acts 15:18 -Known to Elohim from eternity are all His works.
And we are one of them.
Romans 8:29 -For whom He foreknew, He also predestined [to be] conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.
He knew us already.
Romans 8:30 -Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.
He knows all things from beginning to end.
Isaiah 46:9 -Remember the former things of old, For I [am] Elohim, and [there is] no other; [I am] Elohim, and [there is] none like Me,
10 – Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times [things] that are not [yet] done, Saying, `My counsel shall stand, And I will do all My pleasure,’
We have got to humble ourselves.
Isaiah 55:8 -For My thoughts [are] not your thoughts, Nor [are] your ways My ways, says YAHWEH.
9 – For [as] the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.
We looked at the picture last week of this Hubble Space Telescope. They opened up the lens for 277 hours to try to find out, “How high are the heavens above the earth?” And they found 10,000 more galaxies. Sorry, but, “Just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.”
You know, this is one of the many things where if it were true that there was a limit to the heavens, then this verse would have disproven the existence or the inspiration of Elohim. But science is confirming everything Scripture says in amazing ways. And that is one reason why the Bible has stood the test of time and has not been found to be untrue.
Ecclesiastes 3:10 -I have seen the Elohim-given task with which the sons of men are to be occupied.
11 – He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that Elohim does from beginning to end.
That is because He is eternal.
Psalms 90:2 -Before the mountains were brought forth, Or ever You had formed the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, You [are] Elohim.
He is also invisible.
1Timothy 1:17 -Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, to Elohim who alone is wise, [be] honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.
1 John 4:12 – No one has seen Elohim at any time…
But, you know, His attributes are seen.
Romans 1:20 -For since the creation of the world His invisible [attributes] are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, [even] His eternal power and Elohimhead, so that they are without excuse,
No one can look at the attributes of this creation and be without excuse. There is an Elohim.
Now I really think that is why, in spite of evolutionists’ best effort, the latest Gallup Poll says ninety-five percent of Americans actually still believe in some kind of divine power.
So it is obvious except to the mind that is totally unwilling to investigate and really look at what Yahweh has done and what creation is.
Job 23:8 -Look, I go forward, but He is not [there], And backward, but I cannot perceive Him;
He is invisible Job says.
Job 23:9 -When He works on the left hand, I cannot behold [Him]; When He turns to the right hand, I cannot see [Him].
10 – But He knows the way that I take; [When] He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold.
Oh, I love that verse! The nice thing about Yahweh is He doesn’t change. He just does not change. He is always the same. He is constant.
Numbers 23:19 -Elohim [is] not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?
Psalms 33:11 -The counsel of YAHWEH stands forever, The plans of His heart to all generations.
Continually. His counsel remains forever.
Psalms 119:89 -LAMED. Forever, O YAHWEH, Your word is settled in heaven.
Proverbs 19:21 -There are many plans in a man’s heart, Nevertheless YAHWEH’S counsel — that will stand.
Ecclesiastes 3:14 -I know that whatever Elohim does, It shall be forever. Nothing can be added to it, And nothing taken from it. Elohim does [it], that men should fear before Him.
James 1:17 -Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.
He is always the same. I love that about Him because He is consistent. He is reliable. And while the idols of the nations were limited with power– you know, Ba’al was so-called “god of the weather,” and other deities had limited control over different spots on the earth, and so on– Yahweh is not limited to anything. He is not limited to anything.
And there is no place that one could hide from Him.
Jeremiah 23:24 -Can anyone hide himself in secret places, So I shall not see him? says YAHWEH; Do I not fill heaven and earth? says YAHWEH.
That was a radical thought right there.
Deuteronomy 3:24 – `O Master YAHWEH, You have begun to show Your servant Your greatness and Your mighty hand, for what god [is there] in heaven or on earth who can do [anything] like Your works and Your mighty [deeds]?
Because there really is no elohim like Him. There is no true elohim except Him. And because He is the One who made us, another one of His attributes is He is jealous. He is a jealous Elohim.
It says in Exodus 20, verse 4:
Exodus 20:4 -You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness [of anything] that [is] in heaven above, or that [is] in the earth beneath, or that [is] in the water under the earth;
5 – you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, YAHWEH your Elohim, [am] a jealous Elohim, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth [generations] of those who hate Me,
6 – but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.
He is a jealous Elohim. Why is He jealous? To the natural man, jealousy might seem to be a negative character trait. And for man and his self-centeredness it often is. But Yahweh is rightfully jealous because He loves us. That’s why He is jealous.
If He didn’t love us, He wouldn’t be jealous. He wouldn’t really care if we burned in hell or not. He wouldn’t care.
What husband would not be jealous if his wife began to have affections for other men? That is because she is his wife and his wife alone. And Yahweh, likewise, is the One who created us. No one else did. We belong to Him.
And so, for us to draw our affections toward the things which are not, He is rightfully jealous. Nothing wrong with that. In fact, it demonstrates His love.
Yahweh is Spirit. That is another attribute. Elohim is Spirit. That is why He is invisible.
John 4:24 -Elohim [is] Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.
Don’t forget the truth. Very important.
And He is willing to be our Father even if we have no earthly father.
Psalms 68:5 -A father of the fatherless, a defender of widows, [Is] Elohim in His holy habitation.
But we have to remember something. Yahweh is holy. He is a holy Elohim. That is one of His attributes.
Look at this scene here in Isaiah 6:
Isaiah 6:1 -In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw YAHWEHsitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His [robe] filled the temple.
Yahweh the Master.
Isaiah 6:2 -Above it stood seraphim; each one had six wings: with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew.
3 – And one cried to another and said: Holy, holy, holy [is] YAHWEH of hosts; The whole earth [is] full of His glory!
Qadosh, qadosh, qadosh is Yahweh of hosts. Holy, holy, holy. “Qadosh” means “set apart.” He is different. He is separate from wickedness. He is not unrighteous, and no unrighteousness can remain in His presence. He is set apart. He is different than the unclean world.
He is clean. He is pure. He is righteous. And He is willing to be a refuge for us if we run to Him in times of trouble.
Deuteronomy 33:27 – “The eternal Elohim is your refuge, And underneath are the everlasting arms…”
If you want to hold onto something that won’t change, hang onto Yahweh, the everlasting arms.
Yahweh is awesome!
Psalms 47:2 -For YAHWEH Most High [is] awesome; [He is] a great King over all the earth.
He is good!
Psalms 34:8 -Oh, taste and see that YAHWEH [is] good; Blessed [is] the man [who] trusts in Him!
Psalms 33:5 -He loves righteousness and justice; The earth is full of the goodness of YAHWEH.
That is why I say, if you see any goodness at all in any attribute of any human being on the planet, or you see any good thing, that is Yahweh. That is Him. He is consistent. He is always the same. And that same that He is, is goodness.
Yahweh says that He is one.
Deuteronomy 6:4 -Hear, O Israel: YAHWEH our Elohim, YAHWEH [is] one!
This oneness has to do with unity. And oneness has to do with there is no conflict within Him of what to do in any situation. And we are called to be one also with Him. That doesn’t mean we are equal to Him.
But Yahweh is the One who is all powerful, the One who is in control.
Jeremiah 51:15 -He has made the earth by His power; He has established the world by His wisdom, And stretched out the heaven by His understanding.
16 – When He utters [His] voice — [There is] a multitude of waters in the heavens: He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth; He makes lightnings for the rain; He brings the wind out of His treasuries.
He is in control of everything– the weather, everything. And He is willing to provide for us. When He brings the rain, He provides for us.
Psalms 145:15 -The eyes of all look expectantly to You, And You give them their food in due season.
16 – You open Your hand And satisfy the desire of every living thing.
Psalms 34:9 -Oh, fear YAHWEH, you His saints! [There is] no want to those who fear Him.
He will provide.
Now another important attribute is He is a Judge.
Psalms 50:6 -Let the heavens declare His righteousness, For Elohim Himself [is] Judge. Selah
He is a Judge. And as a Judge, He executes righteousness.
Psalms 33:4 -For the word of YAHWEH [is] right, And all His work [is done] in truth.
5 – He loves righteousness and justice; The earth is full of the goodness of YAHWEH.
He loves righteousness. He loves justice. He is a righteous Judge.
He Himself is perfect. And therefore, unlike mortal men, He can judge without hypocrisy.
2 Samuel 22, verse 31, it says this:
2Samuel 22:31 -[As for] Elohim, His way [is] perfect; The word of YAHWEH [is] proven; He [is] a shield to all who trust in Him.
He is perfect. He is willing to be your protector in times of need.
Psalms 121:7 -YAHWEH shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul.
8 – YAHWEH shall preserve your going out and your coming in From this time forth, and even forevermore.
Psalms 91:9 -Because you have made YAHWEH, [who is] my refuge, [Even] the Most High, your dwelling place,
10 – No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;
11 – For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways.
Psalms 91:3 -Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler [And] from the perilous pestilence.
4 – He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth [shall be your] shield and buckler.
5 – You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, [Nor] of the arrow [that] flies by day,
Psalms 91:6 -[Nor] of the pestilence [that] walks in darkness, [Nor] of the destruction [that] lays waste at noonday.
7 – A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; [But] it shall not come near you.
8 – Only with your eyes shall you look, And see the reward of the wicked.
“Because you have made Yahweh, who is my refuge, even the Most High, your dwelling place.” And so, that is why it all happens.
Yahweh preserves all who love Him. All the wicked, though, He will ultimately destroy.
Psalms 145:20 -YAHWEH preserves all who love Him, But all the wicked He will destroy.
Now the most powerful Being in the universe also carries this very, very, very important character trait. The most powerful Being in the universe is also the most loving. And this is what I love about Him the most.
Deuteronomy 10:17 -For YAHWEH your Elohim [is] Elohim of gods and Master of lords, the great Elohim, mighty and awesome, who shows no partiality nor takes a bribe.
18 – He administers justice for the fatherless and the widow, and loves the stranger, giving him food and clothing.
I like how He cares about the downtrodden. Because He is good, He wants justice. He wants righteousness on the earth. But He has given us temporary reign over this planet called earth and He expects us to be just and right in all that we do. And He will be the Judge of how we are performing.
He tells the people of Israel in the Torah:
Exodus 22:22 -You shall not afflict any widow or fatherless child.
23 – If you afflict them in any way, [and] they cry at all to Me, I will surely hear their cry;
He does not like it when we afflict those who are at a disadvantage.
Exodus 22:26 -If you ever take your neighbor’s garment as a pledge, you shall return it to him before the sun goes down.
27 – For that [is] his only covering, it [is] his garment for his skin. What will he sleep in? And it will be that when he cries to Me, I will hear, for I [am] gracious.
See, Yahweh cares about us. This most powerful Being in the universe, who has to humble Himself to even look at the heavens, cares about you and your every need. And that is what I love about Him. He is so loving.
1John 3:1 -Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of Elohim! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.
2 – Beloved, now we are children of Elohim; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.
What manner of love the Father has bestowed upon us, that we become His children. The most powerful Being in the universe… we are His children.
Deuteronomy 33:3 -Yes, He loves the people; All His saints [are] in Your hand; They sit down at Your feet; [Everyone] receives Your words.
Jeremiah 31:3 -YAHWEH has appeared of old to me, [saying]: Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.
No one can really come to Messiah unless the Father draws him near.
Romans 5:8 -But Elohim demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Messiah died for us.
Ephesians 2:4 -But Elohim, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,
5 – even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Messiah (by grace you have been saved),
6 – and raised [us] up together, and made [us] sit together in the heavenly [places] in Messiah Yahushua,
What?? Wow! I look at my life and the garbage I have gotten involved in, and Yahweh is willing to forgive and set us up on the throne with Messiah. Wow!
1John 4:8 -He who does not love does not know Elohim, for Elohim is love.
That is why I said, if you ever see love anywhere, that is Him.
1John 4:9 -In this the love of Elohim was manifested toward us, that Elohim has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.
He is giving us a chance even though we have rebelled against Him and disobeyed Him. He is giving us an opportunity and He is showing us love anyway.
1John 4:10 -In this is love, not that we loved Elohim, but that He loved us and sent His Son [to be] the propitiation for our sins.
What an awesome, awesome thing He has done.
1John 4:16 -And we have known and believed the love that Elohim has for us. Elohim is love, and he who abides in love abides in Elohim, and Elohim in him.
We have to believe it because Elohim is love, and he who abides in His love abides in Elohim, and Elohim in him.
1John 4:17 -Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.
That is because we are made in His image and we are reflecting His image. Are we reflecting His image? That is an important question. His righteous image, His image of love– are we reflecting that?
An image is a reflection. It is not the real deal. It is a reflection. And we are called to be in His image.
Hebrews 12:6 says:
Hebrews 12:6 -For whom YAHWEH loves He chastens, And scourges every son whom He receives.
Even in difficult times and we feel like we are being punished, really, it is because He loves us. If you are without chastening, you might not be His child. But, you know, even when we are chastened by Him, He reassures us of His love and His mercy.
He reassures us. He says:
Isaiah 54:7 -For a mere moment I have forsaken you, But with great mercies I will gather you.
8 – With a little wrath I hid My face from you for a moment; But with everlasting kindness I will have mercy on you, Says YAHWEH, your Redeemer.
Psalms 30:5 -For His anger [is but for] a moment, His favor [is for] life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy [comes] in the morning.
Beautiful promises. And He is our Savior.
Psalms 42:8 -YAHWEH will command His lovingkindness in the daytime, And in the night His song [shall be] with me — A prayer to the Elohim of my life.
Yahweh commands His lovingkindness in the daytime. Beautiful.
You know, Yahweh is such a powerful, wise, limitless Being. But, you know, He is also very tender, very gentle, very sweet and very loving.
Isaiah 57:15 -For thus says the High and Lofty One Who inhabits eternity, whose name [is] Holy: I dwell in the high and holy [place], With him [who] has a contrite and humble spirit, To revive the spirit of the humble, And to revive the heart of the contrite ones.
Where is that at? Where is the high and holy place? With him who has a contrite and humble spirit. That is where it is. He is willing to dwell there– to revive the spirit of the humble, to revive the heart of the contrite ones.
This is interesting. He dwells in the high and lofty place. And where is that? Within the humble and contrite ones. That is where. That is a high and lofty place.
Isaiah 66:1 -Thus says YAHWEH: Heaven [is] My throne, And earth [is] My footstool. Where [is] the house that you will build Me? And where [is] the place of My rest?
2 – For all those [things] My hand has made, And all those [things] exist, Says YAHWEH. But on this [one] will I look: On [him who is] poor and of a contrite spirit, And who trembles at My word.
That is where He will dwell. That is where He will look to. Think about that for a moment. That is amazing! To me it is. I mean, isn’t that awesome? Isn’t that one reason why Yahweh is awesome? I think so.
And He wants to empower us if we will humble ourselves before Him, and say, “You are the awesome One. I am just clay in the Potter’s hand.”
Psalms 18:31 -For who [is] Elohim, except YAHWEH? And who [is] a rock, except our Elohim?
32 – [It is] Elohim who arms me with strength, And makes my way perfect.
33 – He makes my feet like the [feet of] deer, And sets me on my high places.
Psalms 18:34 -He teaches my hands to make war, So that my arms can bend a bow of bronze.
35 – You have also given me the shield of Your salvation; Your right hand has held me up, Your gentleness has made me great.
Oh, I love that verse! Isn’t that true? Isn’t it that the gentleness of Yahweh makes us great? He is a gentle Elohim. He is a gentle Mighty One. Gentleness and mightiness you don’t normally think would go hand in hand, but He is gentle. And He can make us great with His gentleness.
He is the Author of salvation, and when we see His gentleness toward us, in spite of His incredible, amazing strength, we just shout and say: “Yahweh, You are my strength. You are my song. And You have become my salvation.”
Psalms 118:14 -YAHWEH [is] my strength and song, And He has become my salvation.
Psalms 34:22 -YAHWEH redeems the soul of His servants, And none of those who trust in Him shall be condemned.
Psalms 37:39 -But the salvation of the righteous [is] from YAHWEH; [He is] their strength in the time of trouble.
40 – And YAHWEH shall help them and deliver them; He shall deliver them from the wicked, And save them, Because they trust in Him.
Because the same Elohim who humbles Himself to even look upon the heavens and the earth is willing to look upon us, because He is merciful. Because He is loving, He is also merciful. The two go hand in hand. It says:
Psalms 100:5 -For YAHWEH [is] good; His mercy [is] everlasting, And His truth [endures] to all generations.
Psalms 103:11 -For as the heavens are high above the earth, [So] great is His mercy toward those who fear Him;
12 – As far as the east is from the west, [So] far has He removed our transgressions from us.
13 – As a father pities [his] children, [So] YAHWEH pities those who fear Him.
Psalms 103:14 -For He knows our frame; He remembers that we [are] dust.
15 – [As for] man, his days [are] like grass; As a flower of the field, so he flourishes.
16 – For the wind passes over it, and it is gone, And its place remembers it no more .
Psalms 103:17 -But the mercy of YAHWEH [is] from everlasting to everlasting On those who fear Him, And His righteousness to children’s children,
Psalms 118:1 -Oh, give thanks to YAHWEH, for [He is] good! For His mercy [endures] forever.
You know, the whole gospel, the whole good news of Yahushua, is in this one verse. If we give thanks to Yahweh for what He has done, for His goodness, He will grant us mercy, which will endure forever.
It was His goodness in the Master Yahushua the Messiah, His righteousness that dwelt in the Master Yahushua the Messiah, that opened up the opportunity for us to receive that enduring forever kind of mercy. And when we submit our hearts to Him and humble ourselves before Him, nothing will separate us from His love.
Romans 8:35 -Who shall separate us from the love of Messiah? [Shall] tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
36 – As it is written: For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
37 – Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
Romans 8:38 -For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come,
39 – nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of Elohim which is in Messiah Yahushua our Master.
What an amazing, amazing thing! I love how He can take what is tender and harmless and weak and cause power and strength to rise up out of it. And that is why we have to be so humble, because Yahweh wants to show the whole world His strength, actually, through our weaknesses.
And that is why some of the worst sinners end up getting saved, because He can use someone who is humble. He can. He can use them. Because that will show the world there is an Elohim who is living and powerful, because no one is going to say, “Well, that man on his own power did that.” Though that is how Elohim manifests Himself.
So as the Scripture says:
Psalms 96:1 -Oh, sing to YAHWEH a new song! Sing to YAHWEH, all the earth.
2 – Sing to YAHWEH, bless His name; Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day.
That is what we need to do. Proclaim it!
Psalms 96:3 -Declare His glory among the nations, His wonders among all peoples.
4 – For YAHWEH [is] great and greatly to be praised; He [is] to be feared above all gods.
5 – For all the gods of the peoples [are] idols, But YAHWEH made the heavens.
Psalms 96:6 -Honor and majesty [are] before Him; Strength and beauty [are] in His sanctuary.
7 – Give to YAHWEH, O families of the peoples, Give to YAHWEH glory and strength.
8 – Give to YAHWEH the glory [due] His name; Bring an offering, and come into His courts.
Psalms 96:9 -Oh, worship YAHWEH in the beauty of holiness! Tremble before Him, all the earth.
10 – Say among the nations, YAHWEH reigns; The world also is firmly established, It shall not be moved; He shall judge the peoples righteously.
Psalms 96:11 -Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; Let the sea roar, and all its fullness;
12 – Let the field be joyful, and all that [is] in it. Then all the trees of the woods will rejoice
13 – before YAHWEH. For He is coming, for He is coming to judge the earth. He shall judge the world with righteousness, And the peoples with His truth.
How is He going to do this? Let me tell you about a man named Yahushua the Messiah and what Yahweh said concerning Him.
Isaiah 11:1 -There shall come forth a Rod from the stem of Jesse, And a Branch shall grow out of his roots.
Just a humble beginning.
Isaiah 11:2 -The Spirit of YAHWEH shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of YAHWEH.
Seven spirits.
Isaiah 11:3 -His delight [is] in the fear of YAHWEH, And He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes, Nor decide by the hearing of His ears;
4 – But with righteousness He shall judge the poor, And decide with equity for the meek of the earth; He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, And with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked.
5 – Righteousness shall be the belt of His loins, And faithfulness the belt of His waist.
Who is this man? Yahushua Ha Mashiach. Moshe wrote about Him. Moses, he wrote about Him.
Yahushua, when He came to the earth, He says:
John 5:46 -For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote about Me.
And there were some who recognized that.
John 1:45 -Philip found Nathanael and said to him, We have found Him of whom Moses in the law, and also the prophets, wrote — Yahushua of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.
And through Yahushua the Messiah, He promises healing…
Isaiah 53:5 -But He [was] wounded for our transgressions, [He was] bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace [was] upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.
He took what we deserved. We deserved damnation. We deserved punishment. Yahushua bore the punishment we deserved. He was wounded for our own transgressions. And He not only heals the body, He heals the heart.
A prophecy in Isaiah 61, verse 1, says:
Isaiah 61:1 -The Spirit of the Master YAHWEH [is] upon Me, Because YAHWEH has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to [those who are] bound;
That is what He came to do. And He will do it. Just as He can heal your body, He can heal your heart, too. Ask Him.
Psalms 41:2 -YAHWEH will preserve him and keep him alive, [And] he will be blessed on the earth; You will not deliver him to the will of his enemies.
3 – YAHWEH will strengthen him on his bed of illness; You will sustain him on his sickbed.
James 5:15 -And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and YAHWEH will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.
But we do have to heed His voice.
Exodus 15:26 -and said, If you diligently heed the voice of YAHWEH your Elohim and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I [am] YAHWEH who heals you.
Yahweh Ropheka. Yahweh who heals you. If we commit our lives to Him, He will supply our every need. And He does it through Yahushua the Messiah.
Philippians 4:19 -And my Elohim shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Messiah Yahushua.
All your needs will be supplied.
You know, of all the works that Elohim has done, there is nothing greater I know of than the work that He has done through Yahushua the Messiah.
Colossians 1:15 -He is the image of the invisible Elohim, the firstborn over all creation.
16 – For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.
That is Yahushua!
Colossians 1:17 -And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.
It is pretty amazing.
Colossians 1:18 -And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.
He is the head of the body, the assembly.
Colossians 1:19 -For it pleased [the Father that] in Him all the fullness should dwell,
He is the reflection, the image of the living Elohim.
Colossians 1:20 -and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross.
His stauros. Awesome! Awesome works through Yahushua the Messiah.
Hebrews 1:1 -Elohim, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets,
2 – has in these last days spoken to us by [His] Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds;
He was there.
Hebrews 1:3 -who being the brightness of [His] glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,
An image is a reflection, not the exact thing. It is a reflection.
Hebrews 1:4 -having become so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
Father to Son inheritance.
Yahushua said in Matthew 28:18:
Matthew 28:18 -And Yahushua came and spoke to them, saying, All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.
Yahweh gave it to Him.
John 14:6 -Yahushua said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
He is an awesome, awesome, awesome Son of Elohim. He is an awesome reflection, the brightness of Yahweh’s glory.
A man by the name of S. M. Lockridge very eloquently stated who and what Messiah is in a sermon given in 1976. And he said it with a lot of– I don’t know how to say it– emotion? a little bit of theater? And I thought about just playing it, but there are some things in there that I wouldn’t want to say. But here is what he said about Yahushua:
“My King was born King. The Bible says He is a seven way King. He’s the King of the Jews. That’s an ethnic King. He’s the King of Israel. That’s a national King. He’s the King of Righteousness. He’s the King of the Ages. He’s the King of Heaven. He’s the King of Glory. He’s the King of kings and He is the Master of masters. That’s my King.
“I wonder if you know Him. Do you know Him? Don’t try to mislead me. Do you know my King?” I am quoting from this man. “David said the heavens declare the glory of Elohim and the firmament shows His handiwork. My King is the only One of whom there are no means of measure that can define His limitless love.
“No far seeing telescope can bring into visibility the coastline of the shore of His supplies. No barriers can hinder Him from pouring out His blessing. He is enduringly strong. He is entirely sincere. He is eternally steadfast. He is immortally graceful. He is imperially powerful. He is impartially merciful. That’s my King. He is Yahweh’s Son.
“He is the sinner’s Savior. He is the centerpiece of civilization. He stands alone in Himself. He’s honest. He’s unique. He’s unparalleled. He’s unprecedented. He is supreme. He is pre-eminent. He is the grandest idea in literature. He is the highest personality in philosophy. He is the supreme problem in higher criticism.
“He is the fundamental doctrine of historical theology. He is the carnal necessity of spiritual religion. That’s my King.
“He is the miracle of the age. He is the superlative of everything good that you could choose to call Him. He is the only one able to supply all of our needs simultaneously. He supplies strength for the weak. He is available for the tempted and the tried. He sympathizes and He saves. He’s the Almighty Elohim who guides and keeps all His people.
“He heals the sick. He cleanses the lepers. He forgives sinners. He discharges debtors. He delivers the captives. He defends the feeble. He blesses the young. He serves the unfortunate. He regards the aged. He rewards the diligent and He beautifies the meek. That’s my King. Do you know Him?
“Well, my King is a King of knowledge. He’s the Wellspring of wisdom. He’s the Doorway of deliverance. He’s the Pathway of peace. He’s the Roadway of righteousness. He’s the Highway of holiness. He’s the Gateway of glory. He’s the Master of the mighty. He’s the Captain of the conquerors. He’s the Head of the heroes.
“He’s the Leader of the legislatures. He’s the Overseer of overcomers. He’s the Governor of governors, the Prince of princes, the King of kings, the Master of all. That’s my King.
“His office is manifold. His promise is sure. His light is matchless. His goodness is limitless. His mercy is everlasting. His love never changes. His Word is enough. His grace is sufficient. His reign is righteous. His yoke is easy and His burden is light. I wish I could describe Him to you… but He’s indescribable. That’s my King.
“He’s incomprehensible, He’s invincible and He’s irresistible. I’m coming to tell you this, that the heaven of heavens cannot contain Him, let alone some man explain Him. You can’t get Him out of your mind. You can’t get Him off of your hands. You can’t outlive Him and you can’t live without Him.
“The Pharisees couldn’t stand Him, but they found out they couldn’t stop Him. Pilate couldn’t find any fault in Him. The witnesses couldn’t get their testimonies to agree about Him. Herod couldn’t kill Him. Death couldn’t handle Him, and the grave couldn’t hold Him. That’s my King. He always has been and always will be.
“I’m talking about the fact that He had no predecessor and He will have no successor. There’s nobody before Him and there will be nobody after Him. You can’t impeach Him and He’s not going to resign. That’s my King. That’s my King. Thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory.
“Well, all the power belongs to my King. People talk about black power and white power and green power, but in the end all that matters is Yahweh’s power. Thine is the power and the glory. We try to get prestige and honor and glory among ourselves, but all the glory is His.
“Yes, Thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever and ever and ever. How long is that? Forever and ever and ever. And when you get through with all the evers, then… Amein!”
Very, very eloquent statements. And when I hear all of the awesome descriptions of an awesome Elohim we call Yahweh, I just say, along with the psalmist:
Dig deep into this scripture for a moment. This Psalm 98 is amazing. We are going to sing a new song– the Song of the Lamb. The marvelous thing He did was Yahushua the Messiah dying on the tree.
Yahushua the Messiah, He is the right Hand. He is the holy Arm that gained Yahweh the victory. Because He sits at Yahweh’s right hand. That is why Isaiah 53 verse 1 says: “To whom has the Arm of Yahweh been revealed?”
Psalms 98:2 -YAHWEH has made known His salvation; His righteousness He has revealed in the sight of the nations.
The Gentiles received Yahushua. Israel, by and large, did not. This was all predicted ahead of time.
Psalms 98:3 -He has remembered His mercy and His faithfulness to the house of Israel; All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our Elohim.
He has not forgotten them and He is going to reveal Yahushua to them– and He is, even today. And then all the ends of the earth will have seen the salvation of our Mighty One. Beautiful, beautiful set of verses here.
When Yahushua comes back, all the ends of the earth will see the One through Whom we are saved. And we will shout:
Psalms 118:14 -YAHWEH [is] my strength and song, And He has become my salvation.
The song of the Lamb. The song of Moshe. Through Yahushua we become strong and we receive salvation.
So I ask you this: Have you eaten and are you filled physically and spiritually? Rejoice!
Talking about the Feasts, it says…
Deuteronomy 12:7 -And there you shall eat before YAHWEH your Elohim, and you shall rejoice in all to which you have put your hand, you and your households, in which YAHWEH your Elohim has blessed you.
Give praise to Yahweh and rejoice before Him.
There is a Feast coming up– the Feast of Tabernacles. I invite you to join us where we are going to do just that.
Do you seek Yahweh? Did you know it is something that you should be rejoicing about, the fact that you even seek Him?
Psalms 70:4 -Let all those who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; And let those who love Your salvation say continually, Let Elohim be magnified!
Can you say that with me? Let Elohim be magnified!
Psalms 105:2 -Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him; Talk of all His wondrous works!
3 – Glory in His holy name; Let the hearts of those rejoice who seek YAHWEH!
If you are a believer, the likelihood is you are probably going to receive some kind of persecution. I mean, someone is going to afflict you. Someone is going to try to harm you. If that is true, if you are suffering shame because you are a believer, let me tell you something. Yahushua said don’t just rejoice, but leap for joy!
Luke 6:22 -Blessed are you when men hate you, And when they exclude you, And revile [you], and cast out your name as evil, For the Son of Man’s sake.
23 – Rejoice in that day and leap for joy! For indeed your reward [is] great in heaven, For in like manner their fathers did to the prophets.
He said rejoice when they do this to you. It is a reason to be happy. “All right! Woo-hoo! Thank you! I appreciate it!” They are going to look at you like you are crazy, but if you have faith and you realize the reward awaiting you, Yahushua says you will leap for joy.
And do you know what? They did.
Acts 5:41 -So they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for His name.
Not everybody gets to suffer shame for Yahushua. You have to be counted worthy to be allowed to do that. Not everybody gets that chance. That is what I am reading here.
Acts 5:42 -And daily in the temple, and in every house, they did not cease teaching and preaching Yahushua [as] the Messiah.
What a blessing!
Do you trust in Yahweh? Do you love His name?
Psalms 5:11 -But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You; Let them ever shout for joy, because You defend them; Let those also who love Your name Be joyful in You.
Psalms 33:21 -For our heart shall rejoice in Him, Because we have trusted in His holy name.
22 – Let Your mercy, O YAHWEH, be upon us, Just as we hope in You.
Has Yahweh been merciful to you? You have reason to rejoice and praise Him.
Psalms 31:7 -I will be glad and rejoice in Your mercy, For You have considered my trouble; You have known my soul in adversities,
Psalms 32:11 -Be glad in YAHWEH and rejoice, you righteous; And shout for joy, all [you] upright in heart!
We are declared righteous in Yahushua the Messiah. We have reason to rejoice because Yahushua has overcome the grave and we also have that hope. We will be raised and the enemies of Yahweh will be cast out. “Rejoice!” Again, I say, “Rejoice!”
Zephaniah 3:14 -Sing, O daughter of Zion! Shout, O Israel! Be glad and rejoice with all [your] heart, O daughter of Jerusalem!
15 – YAHWEH has taken away your judgments, He has cast out your enemy. The King of Israel, YAHWEH, [is] in your midst; You shall see disaster no more.
16 – In that day it shall be said to Jerusalem: Do not fear; Zion, let not your hands be weak.
Zephaniah 3:17 -YAHWEH your Elohim in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet [you] with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.
Lovely, lovely, lovely verses here. Roni bat Tzion. Rejoice, daughter of Tzion. Imagine that! You see Him face to face. You have been praying to Him. You have been talking to Him. You have been struggling to hear His voice, and you see Him face to face.
Have you ever seen those reunions? You know, the soldier comes back home and sees his family. I mean, they get me every time. I get to crying because I just think what a scene that is.
What a scene that is going to be, when the One we have been praying to, the One we have been proclaiming, the One we have been learning about, the One that we have been loving so much, we see Him for the first time. And He says when we see Him, He is going to be singing to us. Wow! Wow!
In His presence there will be joy forever. Scripture says:
Psalms 16:11 -You will show me the path of life; In Your presence [is] fullness of joy; At Your right hand [are] pleasures forevermore.
So we have reason to rejoice in Yahweh always.
Philippians 4:4 -Rejoice in YAHWEH always. Again I will say, rejoice!
We are going to sing, too.
Isaiah 35:10 -And the ransomed of YAHWEH shall return, And come to Zion with singing, With everlasting joy on their heads. They shall obtain joy and gladness, And sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
Think back to the most joyful moment you ever had in your life. That is just a little taste of what is ahead for us if we endure for this joy that is set before us– whatever life throws at us.
So in Yahweh’s presence there is always joy. Is there any wonder that some of the most joyful moments that we have is really while praising His name, because He is enthroned in our praises. And as I shared last week, He is enthroned in the praises of Israel.
Psalms 22:3 -But You [are] holy, Enthroned in the praises of Israel.
And so, we have seen so many attributes of Yahweh, so many things that would say, “He is worthy of praise.” We have reason to rejoice in who He is, and just declaring who He is we have cause to rejoice.
And of all the things that He has said about Himself, what is even more amazing is what He says He is going to do in us, through us, for us and the fact He is always serving us all the time. Have you ever thought about that?
You pray, “Yahweh, will You do this for me? Will You do that for me?” You are asking Him to do for you. Well, who is the servant and who is the master here? Yet, He is willing to serve. And that is why we are called to be like Him, to be willing to serve others.
You are getting served all the time. And look what He is going to do for us:
Isaiah 25:8 -He will swallow up death forever, And the Master YAHWEH will wipe away tears from all faces; The rebuke of His people He will take away from all the earth; For YAHWEH has spoken.
This is going to happen. The most powerful Being in the universe has spoken. He will swallow up death forever, wipe away tears from all faces. He says:
Isaiah 60:20 -Your sun shall no longer go down, Nor shall your moon withdraw itself; For YAHWEH will be your everlasting light, And the days of your mourning shall be ended.
No more.
Revelation 7:12 -saying: Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom, Thanksgiving and honor and power and might, [Be] to our Elohim forever and ever. Amen.
13 – Then one of the elders answered, saying to me, Who are these arrayed in white robes, and where did they come from?
14 – And I said to him, Sir, you know. So he said to me, These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
Revelation 7:15 -Therefore they are before the throne of Elohim, and serve Him day and night in His temple. And He who sits on the throne will dwell among them.
16 – They shall neither hunger anymore nor thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any heat;
17 – for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of waters. And Elohim will wipe away every tear from their eyes.
Wow! To be fed by that Shepherd! You know, He can feed us right now if we are willing to listen to these words and make these words I have shared with you today our meditation. They will become our strength as we store up the words that Yahweh has spoken in our hearts during this time of plenty where the Word of Yahweh is plenty available.
When they take the Word of Yahweh from your hands in the future, they can’t take it from your heart. So store it up in your heart now. Store it up now and rejoice in them.
Jeremiah 15:16 -Your words were found, and I ate them, And Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart; For I am called by Your name, O YAHWEH Elohim of hosts.
To be called by His name, now that’s an honor.
Revelation 21:1 -Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea.
2 – Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from Elohim, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
3 – And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of Elohim [is] with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. Elohim Himself will be with them [and be] their Elohim.
Revelation 21:4 -And Elohim will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.
5 – Then He who sat on the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And He said to me, Write, for these words are true and faithful.
So let’s bear fruit. As Scripture says:
John 15:8 -By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.
9 – As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love.
10 – If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.
John 15:11 -These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and [that] your joy may be full.
So if we desire joy, keep the commandments of Elohim and joy will enter your heart and will overflow onto others. We walk in the commandments of Yahweh, and keeping His ways, teaching us the way of true love. That is what the commandments are for. They are not to bind this heavy yoke on you.
The purpose of everything is that you would learn how to love as Yahweh Himself loves. Every commandment He ever gave had something to do with loving Him and loving each other. And there is no greater joy in life than to walk in love and let Yahweh’s Spirit just love those around you through you.
So let’s remember His words and let the joy of Yahweh be our strength, focusing on who He is, setting our minds on the things above where He resides, because greater are the things that He promises. Great is Yahweh and greater are His promises. If we compare our lives with the things Yahushua went through, there is no comparison.
But, you know? Yahweh gives us many good things. And so, we will rejoice in Yahweh’s salvation.
Psalms 20:5 -We will rejoice in your salvation, And in the name of our Elohim we will set up [our] banners! May YAHWEH fulfill all your petitions.
The world has their banners. We have ours.
Psalms 40:16 -Let all those who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; Let such as love Your salvation say continually, YAHWEH be magnified!
Say it again. Yahweh be magnified! Because He alone is worthy and we are honored to call Him our Father. We are honored to call Him our King. We are honored to receive His love, His joy, His peace.
And for those who choose to be thankful, receive what He has done for you and respond to Him with yielding yourself to His definition of what love is by keeping His commandments. Joy awaits you. And if you haven’t yet given your life to Yahushua in repentance and faith in Him, I invite you to do so.
Today is the day of salvation, and if you believe Yahweh is calling you right now, I urge you, do not turn away His call. Again, there may be a reason you are listening to these messages. He may or may not call you again. Answer His call while there is hope and while you live.
Enter into eternal life, a life where peace and joy replaces distress and sadness. Enter a life in which whatever negative experiences you have will somehow be turned around for your good.
If you are someone who wants to enter that kind of life, you have heard who Yahweh is and you want to receive Yahushua the Messiah, I encourage you and I invite you, join with me in prayer.
Thank You, Father Yahweh, for who You are. Thank You, Father Yahweh, for all You have done. We love everything about You and we seek Your deliverance from this world that does not know You, from the pain and the suffering and the sadness that has come upon this planet called Earth, because they do not want You in their life.
But, Father, we want You in our life continually. We want Your presence to go with us. You are the most powerful, the most wonderful, the most amazing, the most awesome power in the universe. We love Your love. We love Your gentleness. We love everything about You. And we love Your Son, Yahushua Ha Mashiach.
And we receive Him in all His glory. We receive Him. Fill us with love, with righteousness, with peace. Fill our hearts with the peace You promised through the Prince of Peace, Yahushua Ha Mashiach. And we turn away right now from any and all things that You have said are wrong.
We repent and we receive Yahushua Ha Mashiach in all His fullness, seeking to walk as He walked. There is no greater walk. There is no greater love than the love with which He expressed to us. And for Him, we give You thanks.
For truly Yours is the Kingdom and the power and the glory and the majesty, and all praise belongs to You, Yahweh our Mighty One, forever and ever. In Yahushua’s awesome name we pray these things and we give You thanks.
HalleluYah and Amein.
