The Messiah’s fulfillment of this day (Fulfill does not mean abolish):

Hebrews, Chapter 9:

  • First covenant had ordinances of divine service and the earthly sanctuary
  • High Priest enters the Holy of holies, not without blood but with an offering for himself and the people’s sins in ignorance
  • The way into the holy of holies was not yet clear while the first tabernacle was still standing
  • These things are symbolic for the present time
    • Gifts and sacrifices cannot perfect the conscience
    • Ordinances until time of reformation (A word meaning to straighten thoroughly, compare Isaiah 40:4)
  • Messiah came as a High priest of the good things to come, with a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not of this creation
  • Messiah entered that tabernacle with His own blood, entering the holy of holies
    • Once for all
    • Having obtained eternal redemption
  • Blood of bulls & goats sets apart for the cleansing of the flesh, the blood of Messiah through the everlasting Spirit offered Himself unblemished to Elohim will cleanse the conscience from dead works to serve the living Elohim.
  • For this reason He is the mediator of the new covenant
    • By means of death
    • For the redemption of transgressions under the first covenant
    • So that those who are called may receive the promise of eternal inheritance
  • Without shedding of blood there is no remission
  • Both covenants involve the shedding of blood
  • The copies of what is in the heavens, the tabernacle, required purification by the blood of bull and goats. But what is in the heavens required a better sacrifice than this, Yahushua!
  • Messiah appears in the presence of Elohim for us
  • Messiah is offered once, not often
    • As it is appointed unto man to die once, then the judgment
  • He put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself
  • For the sins of many
  • To those who eagerly wait for Him, He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation
