If there’s one benefit, I have noticed that lasts from one Sukkot to the next, it’s planning. Sukkot is less than 75 days away (this is 07\/08\/2024) and the Daughters Of Light (DOL) Team are initiating the plans we made over the last few weeks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This has taught me to plan for other events – though much smaller – so that I don’t feel so behind all the time. It can get quite hectic with the day-to-day tasks as life seems overwhelming at the best of times. I’ve learned to judge my time better and even carve out time for myself (that self-care thing) so that I don’t burn out in the process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I’ve never been much of a planner. I didn’t like writing down all the things into my calendar. It looked like I had no time for myself. Being a spontaneous kind of girl, I managed to side-step that feature in my life and continue thinking I had all the time in the world to get things done. Of course, when the deadlines came closer, I got anxious and bit down all my nails because I knew I was unprepared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Eventually, I had to swallow my pride and start a planning list, really, a to-do list. That gave way to actual planning and I experienced first-hand the benefits of planning ahead. Instead of chewing my fingernails down past the quick, I was relaxing and reviewing my schedules, thinking about the blue skies and green grass. I switched up my “free” time and I learned to let my nails grow!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sometimes I lapse, and I procrastinate and start biting my nails again, except I now have a system of awareness for myself. It helps me to get back on track. The reality, though, is I have learned to plan and stay on top of life’s constant tsunami waves of surprises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I haven’t arrived. I certainly don’t have all the answers, but I’m learning that planning is more exciting than spontaneity because it allows for spontaneity, while spontaneity doesn’t make any room for planning!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
