That means I signed up to be there 6 days a week. We have been at a new location for over a year now and the store slowly looks like it’s getting organized (except for the boxes and boxes of clothes we still are filtering through). It’s a full-time job, so to speak.

I also am the team leader of the Daughters Of Light (DOL) Team for Sukkot. Although we planned far in advance, there are still last-minute details and preparations that can only happen just weeks before Sukkot. (We are observing the sighted moon, lunar calendar; feast are in September this year.) I’ve taken on a new responsibility of caring for an elderly lady. It may be part-time, but during that time, I need to be totally focused and attentive.

I am getting married, for the first time. I’m having a small private wedding to finalize the marriage covenant enacted on 03/31/2024. I’m blessed with a team that is more than capable, but I still have my part to do in that. Plus I’m moving to a new location. While I have done bits and pieces for the last few months, the new location is far from homey and my messy piles don’t help.

So far, I’ve been able to juggle these three major events in my life, but I still have to deal with donation overflow, my own Sukkot packing, check off my Wedding-To-Do list, AND still take care of myself. I’ve been shaving down the unnecessary and there’s nothing left, yet not enough time!

I have lists on my white board and on paper. I’ve scheduled my days and booked them full. I’m constantly shifting and revising for the unexpected in life. I’m barely afloat and I’m looking for a better way.

I have been looking for about two years now. I haven’t gotten far because I’m still juggling my time. With new major responsibilities on the horizon of my life, I’m not sure things are going to relax any in my life. Somehow, some way, I’m going to find the answer and halt the crazy-busy dizzy-busy life I lead. My desire is to work smarter, not harder.

I’m looking for a better way. I’m going to find it, too. Then, I’ll share with you what I got. Maybe between all of us, we can figure out how to slow down life so that we can enjoy it along the way.

Have a great Preparation Day!

Ugh.
