{"id":3126,"date":"2025-03-13T08:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-03-13T08:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/eliyah.com\/light\/?p=3126"},"modified":"2025-03-12T22:45:00","modified_gmt":"2025-03-12T22:45:00","slug":"praise-is-powerful","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/eliyah.com\/light\/2025\/03\/13\/praise-is-powerful\/","title":{"rendered":"Praise Is Powerful"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>When life is falling apart around me, it\u2019s so easy to complain and feel sorry for myself.<br><br>It\u2019s easier to gripe and resent than to praise Yahweh and look for the blessings.<br><br>Who wants to do that???<br><br>And why?<br><br>Well, there is a method, really a cycle.<br><br>We know it as sowing and reaping.<br><br>If I sow complaints and gripes, more than likely I am going to reap a lot of negative results in my life.<br><br>It\u2019s just a fact of life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Doing Something Different<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>On the other hand, if I sow praise and look for the blessings, I will reap that in my life.<br><br>And the catch is that I praise and look for the blessings regardless if life is good or just plain problematic.<br><br>And sometimes it feels mostly problematic.<br><br>One challenge after another.<br><br>One upset after another.<br><br>No one seems happy.<br><br>No one seems to care that my life is affected by their choices.<br><br>And maybe I don\u2019t care either.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Surpassing the Flesh<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s hard to step out of that doom and gloom setting and start praising Yahweh.<br><br>My heart isn\u2019t in it.<br><br>I don\u2019t feel like it.<br><br>But it is a command.<br><br>King David said he praised Yahweh seven times a day.<br><br>I\u2019m doing really well with just once or twice, and that\u2019s on a good day.<br><br>I better pull up my socks and do better than that.<br><br>(Sigh.)<br><br>(Still pausing.)<br><br>(5 minutes later.)<br><br>I guess I better start praising Yahweh.<br><br>\u201cPraise Yahweh for life. Thank You Father for today.\u201d<br><br>\u2026<br><br>One thing is for sure, if my heart isn\u2019t in it, it isn\u2019t going to work.<br><br>What is my problem?<br><br>I\u2019m waiting for my circumstances to change so I can be happy.<br><br>However, Scripture says that I have to choose to be joyful first.<br><br>Huh?!<br><br>You\u2019ve got to be kidding me!<br><br>I have to make the first move?!<br><br>\u2026<br><br>The joy of Yahweh is my strength.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Start Anywhere<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>And it\u2019s true.<br><br>When I start looking for the little things to praise Him, there starts a small but growing awe for His amazing work.<br><br>I have had to start with praising Yahweh for my body and its abilities.<br><br>Somewhere.<br><br>Anywhere.<br><br>Start somewhere and thank Him.<br><br>Praise Him.<br><br>It\u2019s powerful.<br><br>When I took the first step to praise Yahweh, I saw a change in myself.<br><br>I wasn\u2019t so self-centered.<br><br>Self-absorbed.<br><br>Selfish.<br><br>I began to see life around me differently.<br><br>I noticed the blessings that Yahweh gave me every day.<br><br>Without complaining to me.<br><br>Without griping about how I don\u2019t do my part.<br><br>He freely shares and blesses.<br><br>I praise Yahweh for His lovingkindness.<br><br>I praise Yahweh for He daily loads me with benefits.<br><br>I praise Yahweh for His protection over my life.<br><br>Yes, praise is powerful.<br><br>It\u2019s powerful enough to jolt me out of myself and into seeking ways to praise Yahweh more.<br><br><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When life is falling apart around me, it\u2019s so easy to complain and feel sorry for myself.
