{"id":3138,"date":"2025-02-21T21:57:29","date_gmt":"2025-02-21T21:57:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/eliyah.com\/light\/?p=3138"},"modified":"2025-02-21T22:04:39","modified_gmt":"2025-02-21T22:04:39","slug":"love-thy-neighbor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/eliyah.com\/light\/2025\/02\/21\/love-thy-neighbor\/","title":{"rendered":"Love Thy Neighbor"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Did you know that this command originated in the book of Leviticus?<br><br>Nestled in verse 18, it says, \u201cthou shalt love thy neighbour as theyself:\u201d (KJV, unless otherwise stated).<br><br>It\u2019s mentioned again three times in Matthew (5:43; 19:19; 22:39) quoted by Yahshua.<br><br>And again in Mark 12:31.<br><br>Paul mentions it in Romans 13:9 and Galatians 5:14.<br><br>And James refers to it.<br><br>Except for Matthew 5:43, all other references state, \u201cLove thy neighbor as thyself.\u201d<br><br>As thyself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A Closer Look<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Love your neighbor as yourself.<br><br>Not love your neighbor instead of yourself.<br><br>Loving others doesn\u2019t mean we sacrifice ourselves continually.<br><br>It means looking out for others like we look out for ourselves.<br><br>If we\u2019re thirsty, so are they.<br><br>If we\u2019re hungry, so are they.<br><br>If we\u2019re cold, so are they.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Call to Action (CTA)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The next time you\u2019re out, bring an extra water bottle, some extra snacks.<br><br>When you\u2019re sitting down to eat, offer someone who brought nothing.<br><br>They may turn you down.<br><br>They may not.<br><br>They might not need it.<br><br>They may need it.<br><br>All we can do is offer.<br><br>That is one way to love thy neighbor as thyself.<br><br>Love your neighbor as yourself.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Did you know that this command originated in the book of Leviticus?
