{"id":3142,"date":"2024-12-13T22:42:57","date_gmt":"2024-12-13T22:42:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/eliyah.com\/light\/?p=3142"},"modified":"2024-12-13T22:42:58","modified_gmt":"2024-12-13T22:42:58","slug":"time-flies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/eliyah.com\/light\/2024\/12\/13\/time-flies\/","title":{"rendered":"Time Flies"},"content":{"rendered":"Time flies by these days.<br \/><br \/>And so quickly.<br \/><br \/>By the end of the day I am tired.<br \/><br \/>Not just tired, but sleepy tired.<br \/><br \/>Time won\u2019t stand still for me, though.<br \/><br \/>It never does.<br \/><br \/>Tick, tock, tick, tock, tick, tock.<br \/><br \/>***<br \/><br \/>I have heard that we should work smarter, not harder.<br \/><br \/>It makes sense, but only if you know how.<br \/><br \/>If I am doing the same thing over and over and I never get ahead, working harder isn\u2019t going to help me.<br \/><br \/>Working smarter will, but only if I know how.<br \/><br \/>How?<br \/><br \/>Where?<br \/><br \/>When?<br \/><br \/>What?<br \/><br \/>Help!<br \/><br \/>Time doesn\u2019t help.<br \/><br \/>Time may pressure us to work smarter, but it doesn\u2019t show us how.<br \/><br \/>Tick, tock, tick, tock, tick, tock.<br \/><br \/>***<br \/><br \/>In the end, it doesn\u2019t reallly matter.<br \/><br \/>All projects fade away, and how we treated one another remains.<br \/><br \/>Time will certainly tell, won\u2019t it?<br \/><br \/>I suppose the author of Ecclesiastes had a handle on it in chapter 3?<br \/><br \/>However, I think he was referring to seasons of things, not the tick tock of the clock.<br \/><br \/>In the end, I still don\u2019t really understand why time flies.<br \/><br \/>Am I really that busy that I have no time for anyone else (including me)?<br \/><br \/>What are my priorities?<br \/><br \/>What am I striving for?<br \/><br \/>***<br \/><br \/>It may be that time is not the problem, but only the watchman.<br \/><br \/>Time has a way of indiscriminately telling us that.<br \/><br \/>Tick, tock, may be its only sounds, but it rings a warning that what we do should count.<br \/><br \/>And what is that?<br \/><br \/>Only what we do for Yahweh and Yahshua will last in the end.<br \/><br \/>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Time flies by these days.
