{"id":3144,"date":"2025-01-23T08:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-01-23T08:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/eliyah.com\/light\/?p=3144"},"modified":"2025-01-16T22:21:05","modified_gmt":"2025-01-16T22:21:05","slug":"when-it-rains-it-pours","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/eliyah.com\/light\/2025\/01\/23\/when-it-rains-it-pours\/","title":{"rendered":"When It Rains, It Pours"},"content":{"rendered":"I don\u2019t know how it goes with you, but with me, when life rains upon me, it pours.<br \/><br \/>When life gets busy, I feel so busy that it\u2019s hard to slow down.<br \/><br \/>Sometimes I\u2019m up and running and wondering when I\u2019ll have time to do this or that.<br \/><br \/>It can be a good kind of busy or a stressful kind of busy.<br \/><br \/>Come to think of it, I wonder if the virtuous woman type was the good kind of busy.<br \/><br \/>Did life rain upon her like it does me?<br \/><br \/>Did she have her weeks mapped out?<br \/><br \/>Did she have to-do lists?<br \/><br \/>I don\u2019t know for sure, but I know that she was pro-active. (Prov. 31:13, 18-19)<br \/><br \/>She met the need. (Prov. 31:20)<br \/><br \/>She faced the challenge. (Prov. 31:14, 17)<br \/><br \/>She looked for the opportunities. (Prov. 31:16, 24)<br \/><br \/>She made sure things were taken care of. (Prov. 31:15, 21-22, 27)<br \/><br \/>She gave it a go. (Prov. 31:12, 23, 25-26)<br \/><br \/>So did I.<br \/><br \/>Even though I felt like I was thrown into the whirlwind of change, I decided to face it head-on.<br \/><br \/>Not easy.<br \/><br \/>I was derailed a few times.<br \/><br \/>Overwhelming.<br \/><br \/>I got sick.<br \/><br \/>It took a long time to recover.<br \/><br \/>I volunteered to fill a need.<br \/><br \/>I faced the challenge of getting things done in less time than what was needed.<br \/><br \/>I looked for the opportunities to be a team member.<br \/><br \/>I made sure things were taken care of (even if it was to feed and walk the dog and mop the floor).<br \/><br \/>I gave it a go.<br \/><br \/>And it worked.<br \/><br \/>Not easy, though.<br \/><br \/>It can be tough to meet problem after problem, challenge after challenge, and still feel you\u2019re above the circumstances.<br \/><br \/>It can be difficult to forge ahead when you have less than adequate help, when you feel alone.<br \/><br \/>It can be a problem if you decide to give up, entertain a resentment, or harbor an accusing spirit.<br \/><br \/>It can also be totally possible if you believe that you can do all things through Yahshua. (Matt. 11:28-30; Luke 10:19)<br \/><br \/>Even he is there with you as life pours out its derailing whirlwind of changes, when you least expect it.<br \/><br \/>When it rains, it pours.<br \/><br \/>Are you ready to dance in the rain?<br \/><br \/>Give it a go.","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I don\u2019t know how it goes with you, but with me, when life rains upon me, it pours.
