Actually, I would most likely conclude that therapy is a modern concept, not a Scriptural one. while there is no “direct” instructions about therapy in the New Testament/Covenant, I was rather surprised to find the Greek word utilized in a passage, Matthew 17:14-21, but verses 16-18 to be more specific.

And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him.

Then Yahshua answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me.

And Yahshua rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour.

(Matthew 17:16-18. KJV)

It’s the Strong’s Concordance Greek 2323 that both words “cure” and “cured” come from, “therapeuo”. We use the English word, “therapy”; however, the KJV translates the word to “cure” instead. Interesting.

When I think of therapy in modern terms, menial attendance of daily frequency comes to mind. It’s the little details in every area. It takes observation, knowing what the signs are, the clues and tackling those areas first. It takes training.

The disciples’ therapy brought no results. Nothing. They tried and failed. On the other hand, Yahshua’s therapy permanently cured the child. His training was built on prayer and fasting, that is, total connection with Yahweh.

What therapy did he do? He rebuked the devil (daimonnion G1140) and that was it. It was over. The therapy was finished. No follow-up visits. No continued testing. No more talks. Nothing. And the results were 100% effective.

How many therapists today get that done on the first visit?

I’d say none.

Why? It’s not profitable. Yahshua’s therapy could put people out of a job.

Imagine that.

The whole world would be a different place if everyone got delivered the first time.

Hmmm.

Something to think about.

I never really gave it miuch thought.
