Inspired by Scriptures
This ministry, which began in the year 2000, was inspired by the following scriptures:
Deuteronomy 15:7- ” If there is among you a poor man of your brethren, within any of the gates in your land which Yahweh your Elohim is giving you, you shall not harden your heart nor shut your hand from your poor brother,
Psalm 41:1- Blessed is he that considereth the poor: Yahweh will deliver him in time of trouble.
Psalm 112:5- A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion. 6 Surely he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance. 7 He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in Yahweh. 8 His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies. 9 He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endureth for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honour.
Matthew 6:1- Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven. 2 Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.3 But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: 4 That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.
Luke 11:41– But rather give alms of such things as ye have; and, behold, all things are clean unto you.
Luke 12:33- Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.
Acts 9:36– Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.
Acts 10:1- There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band, 2 A devout man, and one that feared Elohim with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to Elohim alway.
1 Corinthians 16:1- Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given order to the assemblies of Galatia, even so do ye. 2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as Elohim hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.
Acts 24:17- Now after many years I came to bring alms to my nation, and offerings.
Considering the multitude of scriptures telling us to give alms, the Open Treasury was created as a gateway through which this can be accomplished.
If you feel led by the Spirit to give alms and help the poor and needy, you can make a contribution to this treasury and it will prayerfully be distributed to those in need.
About the fund
My goal is to make the Open Treasury as transparent as possible. A full accounting of the contributions and disbursements are available upon request.
There are no payroll or administrative costs. I have opened a “free checking” bank account under the name “Treasures of Yahweh OT” for the purpose of collecting and sending out Open Treasury monies. None of the funds will be used for EliYah.com in any way. This is strictly for the poor and needy among us.
Since the year 2000, over $100,000 has been collected and distributed to those in need. However, the needs are sometimes greater than the funds available.
In 8/2017, I moved operations of the Alms fund into a non-profit organization called “Bread of Life Giving and Sharing.” I’m the Executive Director among 4 people on the board.
