When It Rains, It Pours

I don’t know how it goes with you, but with me, when life rains upon me, it pours.

When life gets busy, I feel so busy that it’s hard to slow down.

Sometimes I’m up and running and wondering when I’ll have time to do this or that.

It can be a good kind of busy or a stressful kind of busy.

Come to think of it, I wonder if the virtuous woman type was the good kind of busy.

Did life rain upon her like it does me?

Did she have her weeks mapped out?

Did she have to-do lists?

I don’t know for sure, but I know that she was pro-active. (Prov. 31:13, 18-19)

She met the need. (Prov. 31:20)

She faced the challenge. (Prov. 31:14, 17)

She looked for the opportunities. (Prov. 31:16, 24)

She made sure things were taken care of. (Prov. 31:15, 21-22, 27)

She gave it a go. (Prov. 31:12, 23, 25-26)

So did I.

Even though I felt like I was thrown into the whirlwind of change, I decided to face it head-on.

Not easy.

I was derailed a few times.

Overwhelming.

I got sick.

It took a long time to recover.

I volunteered to fill a need.

I faced the challenge of getting things done in less time than what was needed.

I looked for the opportunities to be a team member.

I made sure things were taken care of (even if it was to feed and walk the dog and mop the floor).

I gave it a go.

And it worked.

Not easy, though.

It can be tough to meet problem after problem, challenge after challenge, and still feel you’re above the circumstances.

It can be difficult to forge ahead when you have less than adequate help, when you feel alone.

It can be a problem if you decide to give up, entertain a resentment, or harbor an accusing spirit.

It can also be totally possible if you believe that you can do all things through Yahshua. (Matt. 11:28-30; Luke 10:19)

Even he is there with you as life pours out its derailing whirlwind of changes, when you least expect it.

When it rains, it pours.
