From The Editor: From My Viewpoint…

One evening during last year’s Sukkot, I was eaves dropping on a conversation some of the ladies were having while cleaning up the remnants of the mess that was made from the tea party in the back kitchen area. It is not in my character to keep my mouth shut ever and the topic I overheard was the beginnings of a Torah observant women’s newsletter. How perfect! I LOVE to edit… wonder if they might need my help? A pet peeve of mine is to see spelling/grammar errors, anything unaesthetically pleasing, etc. I have no formal editing experience but surely I can bring something to the table. It is common for me to find errors in almost anything written nowadays. I was a little timid speaking up not knowing the backgrounds of these women. They could have all held a Ph. D. for all I know…

As a girl I dreamt of being a magazine editor. It is true, that has been my dream job. Although I never admit it for security questions, I have always wanted a big NYC job and tiny apartment. The days waiting to know if my request for the editor position were very long for me. I really wanted that position. I waited about a week for an answer. I’ve been self-employed most of my adult life. I never waited for my job I created my job. This was different. When I did get accepted it was a joyous and memorable moment. The Father truly does know our hearts’ desires. This isn’t something I ever remember talking about and still, he brought it about in my life. That was my first Sukkot. The blessing that have followed are tremendous.

In His Love,

Vanessa
