Wouldn’t it be nice to know what’s going to happen before it does?

I mean the little things in life.

Before the pot of spaghetti sauce hits the floor.

Before the sink of water overflows from a drainage problem.

Before the washing machine breaks down.

You know, a warning, something similar to knowing the weather ahead of time.

I often thought about that until I read a verse in Isaiah 42:9.

“Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.”

Explanation

Nestled between Yahweh’s proclamation of not sharing His glory or praise with others or graven images and the command to sing new songs to Him, to praise Him all over the earth is a promise.

Nice promise.

But it comes with a condition.

You can’t just expect Him to do that for you.

Understand that He is the only one who gets the glory.

The honor.

The praise.

And you have to do it.

Not just once.

Or twice.

Or here and there.

It’s got to be consistent.

Very consistent.

Part of your lifestyle.

Something you do everyday.

And often.

Many times in the day.

Sing.

Praise.

Acknowledge.

The Results

Imagine being told of things before they happen.

And being told by the Creator of the Universe.

The Ancient of Days.

In the Know.

With the best.

Before things happen.

But it will be what He tells you, not necessarily what you think you should know.

Still.

That’s an amazing promise.

With conditions of course.
