Shalom sisters! I am so excited to be doing this for the second year.
Last year during our Tea party, Sukkot Sisters was formed. It has really been a blessing to be a part of this ministry, and I have received much feedback about the blessings that this ministry has had on the sisters that have participated.
This is basically a network of sisters who build each other up through reaching out to one another secretly. You will not know who your sister is, and she will not know who you are. Everyone who signs up for Sukkot Sisters will be given an information sheet “All About Me” and they will fill it out with basic information that will let their Sukkot sister know more about them.
I will compile the list of all of the sisters that signed up and assign each one a Sukkot Sister. Everyone who wants to participate will be matched, and no one will be left out. Throughout the next year, we will pray for, and encourage our sister. This could be in the form of an email, a postcard, or a gift that is sent through the mail..whatever Yahweh lays on your heart. I have often became the “middle” sister in forwarding mail, etc. so that each sister can remain anonymous. Then at next years Sukkot, you will be introduced to your Sukkot Sister, so that you can continue to grow your relationship.
For those sisters, that have been participating, I will gather you together and reveal to you who your sister is. If you choose to continue to participate for this year, I will ensure that you do not get the same sister as before.
Also, this year, I would like to extend this to our youth. If there is a sister aged 14 to 18, that would like to participate in Sukkot Sister youth, you will be matched up with another youth. After much prayer, I believe that this is so important, as I believe that the friendships that will be formed here will be lifelong. In the world we live in, our youth need each other, maybe even more than we know.
As this program grows, (I know that it will) and our sisterhood gets bigger, I truly believe that the lives of each and every one of us will be enriched and we will have all formed some life long friendships. After all, is that what sisterhood is all about?
