Is the Law Jewish?
06/09/12 Video Broadcast
Some say that the law was only for the Jews. Does Yahweh have a double standard? Does our lineage really determine what Yahwehs will is for our lives? One of the most popular studies on this web site.

I want to share a study today on a common mistake that is out there today, mostly in the Christian circles, and I think, actually, to some extent even among us. There is sort of this gulf or this wall that is put up between Jews and Gentiles.
There is a fellow I read that said. “You know, Yahushua came to destroy the wall of partition, and the wall of
partition.”
In the time of the second temple, was a special wall that setup, and they said, “No gentiles are allowed beyond this point.”
They didn’t want anyone who was uncircumcised going beyond that wall. They even had a sign. Archaeologically, they even found the sign, where it said, any gentile who goes beyond this will be
responsible for the death that ensues, basically, paraphrasing it.
You are not allowed beyond here. In fact, when Paul was accused of bringing Greeks into the temple and defiling the Holy Place, the crowds were almost in a mob, and that is actually the thing that caused him to be imprisoned. Very intense, the distinction between Jew and Gentile.
Those in a modern church persuasion would say, “Oh, no we are all one, you know.
There is neither Jew nor Gentile, slave or free, man or woman. We’re all one.” Yet there are certain elements where people don’t see themselves properly.
The modern wall of partition — Do you have a page in your Bible called the New Testament? That page is like the only uninspired page between Genesis and Revelation, but it is always there.
Nowhere can we find a Scripture that tells us to put that page in there, but that is the wall of partition that keeps the Jewish people from coming into the faith of Messiah Yahushua.
They won’t go beyond that page, because that is different stuff there. And then, the modern church today don’t like to go too much further back than that wall of partition into the Old Testament. In fact, they say a lot of times, if you’re getting too heavy into that Old Testament, “Look out. You’ll be under bondage soon.”
So the wall of partition has been re-erected, rebuilt, and , just as the gentiles were told, basically, on the wall of the temple, you’re not allowed past here, and that kept the gentiles from coming close and drawing near to Elohim.
In the same way, the New Testament page is a wall of partition that keeps Jewish people from crossing over to receiving the Messiah. And they are both based on tradition.
Both walls of partition are strictly traditions, not commands.
Another thing something happened just yesterday. My phone number is 866-4 then
EliYah. On occasion I will get a phone call from a Jewish person wanting to reach
Aliyah instead of Eliyah. they call, and some of them are even upset. “Well, I was supposed to get this plane at this time, and…”
So they are trying to make Aliyah over to Israel. and I end up being the one answering, because they missed the spelling on the name, and here yesterday,
I ended up talking to a very nice Jewish gentlemen. He was single, and we talked on the phone for over an hour, an hour and a half maybe, and I had an opportunity to share with him about Yahushua, and how he did not abolish the Torah.
He did not speak against the Torah. and he says, “You’re right, He didn’t and neither did his followers.”
So it was a good opening. He was not really into the traditions, but he did believe in the inspiration of Scripture. So I was able to share with him, and we hope to continue communications. Anyway, I really feel that this wall of partition is a reflection of the perspective that we see today.
So what I want to do today is tear down that wall of partition. In fact, if you want to, you can rip that page out of your Bibles that says New Testament. I want to tear down the wall of
partition which is there because people think that the Old Testament is for those Jews back then, see.
That’s for those Jews way back when, and the New Testament is for Gentiles.
So if they see you doing things that to them look Jewish, they’re going to look at you and think, “Well, we are gentiles. We’re not part of that. That’s not part of what we do.”
So I really want to try, for those of you who are not Torah observant, and the reason you are not Torah observant is
because you understand that these are really commands for the Jews. They’re really kind of optional.
We don’t have to do them anymore. It’s not salvational. It’s just things that are fun to do. It’s fun to play Jewish. It’s fun to think you are a part of the Jewish people and do what they do. Never mind that they are commanded. That commandment was for them. It’s not for me. I’m not Jewish.
That is the thing we hear a lot, so I want to ask this question today: Is it true, is it really true? Is the Law Jewish?
Is the Law really Jewish. The truth is, yes and no. Many think that because we do something that the Jews do, that makes us like we’re Jewish. It is just that the Jewish people do things that Gentiles have, over the centuries, refused to do. That is why those things have been said to be Jewish.
If Gentiles were participating in these things, then it would not be called Jewish. It would be called Biblical.
It would be called Scriptural. Jewish people honor their parents. Jewish people refuse to lie. Jewish people are focused on not committing idolatry, and not taking the Name in vain, some of them. Hey, why aren’t those things Jewish? What makes the Sabbath Jewish? What makes feast days Jewish?
What makes keeping clean and kosher Jewish, but honoring your parents, loving your brother, and all those other things not Jewish? There is nothing in the Scriptures that would tell us, this is Jewish, and Jewish only.
Only Jews do this.” Part of it is a stigma, our inherited stigma over certain things, and a stereotypes, but I can demonstrate to you, by the grace of Yahweh, that it is not that things are Jewish.
It is that these things are Biblical. There really is no distinction. There really is no such thing in the Bible called ceremonial commandments. Nowhere in the Bible do you see the word ceremonial. That is a phrase coined by
dispensationalist modern theologians.
I once read this book named Larson’s Book of Cults, and they were categorizing a particular group, which may have been sort of cultish.
They thought they were the only ones saved, but they were a group who believed like us. They were Torah observant. And in this book, they said, “Some people join the group just out of a desire to keep Yahweh’s commandments,” as if that was on of the faults.
Then they said, “They have rejected Christian holidays in favor of Jewish ones.” These are some of the things that make them a cult.
I thought, wait a minute, have I rejected Christian holidays in favor of Jewish ones? What is it that makes Christmas and Easter Christian holidays? Does anything in the Scriptures, anything in the New Testament say, thou shalt observe Christmas? Does anything in the New Testament say, Thou shalt observe Easter?
Or did that come later? It came much later. 300 years later.
I’m not rejecting Biblical holidays–maybe Christian holidays, if you want to call them
Christian. And it says in favor of Jewish ones. Well, what is it that makes the holidays Jewish holidays?
We are going to look at some Scriptures, but just to give you a little insight on the perspective and what I want to share today, I read a
poem a long time ago that made a whole lot of sense, and that kind of exposes the biases that we might have in our culture today.
It also reflects some of the responses we get when we say, “Hey, let’s keep the feast days.
Let’s observe Sabbath and seek to observe these commandments that Yahweh has given.” Here is the poem.
When we present Almighty Yahweh’s law and arguments from the Scriptures draw,
Objectors say, to pick a flaw, “It’s Jewish.”
Though at first Almighty Yahweh blessed, and sanctified His day of rest,
The same belief is still expressed, “It’s Jewish.”
Though with the world this rest began, and then through all the Scriptures ran,
And Yahushua said, “It was made for man” It’s Jewish.
If from the Scriptures we present the Sabbath’s meaning and intent,
This answers every argument, “It’s Jewish.”
Though the disciples, Luke and Paul, continue still this rest to call
The Sabbath Day, this answers all, “It’s Jewish.”
The evangels taught a plain expression that sin is of the law transgression
Seems not to make the least impression, “It’s Jewish.”
They love the rest of man’s invention, but if Almighty Yahweh’s day we mention,
This puts an end to all contention, “It’s Jewish.”
While those who Yahweh’s day abuse, simply because it was made for Jews,
The Saviour, too, they must refuse, for He’s Jewish.
As we hear in this poem, many claim we don’t have to follow the Sabbath and certain select commandments in the Law because it is Jewish, but if we reject anything on the basis that it is Jewish, we also have to reject Yahushua, because He was Jewish.
The term Jewish primarily refers to actually one tribe out of the 12 tribes of Israel, and that is the tribe of Judah.
Although it does, in modern vernacular include other tribes mixed in with Judah.
But is it really true, is the Law and the Sabbath really Jewish? If
someone is asking, is it Jewish, in one sense I would say yes, in that to be Jewish is to be Jewlike, and if you were to say that the law is Jewish in that perspective, maybe I would agree.
The Jews have at least tried and wanted to observe the Law for thousands of years.
Although we’ve had traditions and things mixed in that actually cause transgression of the Law. But in that sense, I can say yes, and it is true, according to Scripture, that the Jews were given the oracles of Yahweh.
Romans 3:1 – What advantage then has the Jew, or what [is] the profit of circumcision?
2 – Much in every way! Chiefly because to them were committed the oracles of Elohim.
Now, I would not say that the Law is Jewish in the sense that Yahweh only expects Jewish people to follow the Torah, the oracles. To find proof of this, we first need to examine what the Scriptures use to define, and what is meant by, the term righteousness.
Of course, righteousness means to do what is right. Noah and his family were saved from the water because Yahweh saw them as being righteous.
Genesis 7:1 – Then YAHWEH said to Noah, “Come into the ark, you and all your household, because I have seen [that] you [are] righteous before Me in this generation.
That doesn’t mean that they were perfect. It doesn’t mean they never did one sin in their whole life. It means they were seeking to walk uprightly, and their sins were forgiven.
Genesis 18:19 – “For I have known him, in order that he may command his children and his household after him, that they keep the way of YAHWEH, to do righteousness and justice, that YAHWEH may bring to Abraham what He has spoken to him.”
How was he able to be righteous? What is meant by righteousness? Well, we see that Abraham’s faith was not an empty faith. Yahweh said about him:
Genesis 26:4 – “And I will make your descendants multiply as the stars of heaven; I will give to your descendants all these lands; and in your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed;
5 – “because Abraham obeyed My voice and kept My charge, My commandments, My statutes, and My laws.”
Where were they? Where were His commandments and statutes and laws? Where were they? Were they written down? Were there 10 commandments of stone? Were did they come from? How did Abraham know to tithe? How did Abraham know to give a sacrifice? How did Abraham and Abimelech know that adultery was wrong?
There were already commandments and statutes and laws.
It’s just that they didn’t need to be written down. They were already well known. You’re talking from Adam to Seth, one generation. From Seth, he lived so long, he lived almost to the point of Noah’s birth. Noah was born, I think, if you get a timeline, about 70 years after Seth died.
So Seth was there as Adam’s son to communicate the works of Yahweh, the truth of Yahweh, the commandments to all generations that were
there. Then Noah was born. He was a righteous man. He was able to keep it going. Then Noah’s son Shem, did you know he lived well into Jacob’s lifetime?
Some people believe Melchizedek was actually Shem.
There was always a righteous man to communicate Yahweh’s works. We are talking Adam to Seth to Noah to Shem to Abraham. So Yahweh’s will, while it may not have been written down in some code..
It may have been, I don’t know, but it didn’t have to be. And it is only when Yahweh established the nation of Israel, when men’s lives began to drastically shorten, that Yahweh had to have it written down, so that it would transcend the lives and deaths of men.
So their standard of righteousness has always been the same. Now we need to understand what that standard of righteousness is.
What is it He is asking us to do? He is wanting us to walk in His image, the image of Elohim. That is what He wants us to do. That is because He is righteous .
Psalms 40:10 – I have not hidden Your righteousness within my heart; I have declared Your faithfulness and Your salvation; I have not concealed Your lovingkindness and Your truth From the great assembly.
He didn’t hide Yahweh’s righteousness. He proclaimed it. Even Pharaoh acknowledged when he sent for Moses and Aaron.
Exodus 9:27 – And Pharaoh sent and called for Moses and Aaron, and said to them, “I have sinned this time. YAHWEH [is] righteous, and my people and I [are] wicked.
He had to acknowledge Yahweh was righteous. Messiah said:
John 17:25 – “O righteous Father! The world has not known You, but I have known You; and these have known that You sent Me.
We are created in the image of a righteous Father. We were created from the dust of the ground, and Yahweh made us in His image. So when we sin, we are failing to walk in the image of Elohim. Because Yahweh is righteous, He wants us to be righteous.
Yahushua was the only one who ever lived who actually walked in the image of Elohim.
That is why He is called the brightness of Yahweh’s glory, the express image of His person.
When we see Him, we see the Father because He was created in, and He walked in the image of the Father. In the time of the Jewish people, because the ways of Yahweh had not been yet communicated to them, they lost it in the 400 years of slavery, Yahweh had to reintroduce righteousness to them.
He had to introduce His will to them. A lot of times when we think of the Law, there are legal implications that enter our mind. We think of a list of regulations, and that will be THE LAW of the land.
If you try to tell someone, “I want to follow the law,” they say,”Ooh, you want to be under that bondage of the law, and this big old ogre named Mo (Moshe) is hanging over you ready to condemn you and kill you.
That is the attitude that some people exhibit. but the word law in the Hebrew tongue simply means teaching. The teaching of Yahweh.
The instruction of Yahweh. The will of Yahweh. It is easier to say that law has been blotted out than it is for someone to say Yahweh’s teaching has been blotted out. Yahweh’s teaching has been abolished, cancelled,
abrogated.
How can anyone say Yahweh’s teaching has now been abolished? You can’t. It doesn’t make any sense. Yahweh would abolish His own teaching? But when you say the word law…oh, okay, I can see that. That is why I use the word Torah a lot, because it means teaching.
The word Torah doesn’t just refer to the first 5 books, Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy.
It refers actually to the whole of Yahweh’s Word, from Genesis to Revelation. Look what Paul said here.
What is He quoting from here? He is not quoting from the first 5 books. He is quoting from Isaiah, and He says, “In the law it is written.” It is actually in the Prophets. The Prophets also give Yahweh’s teaching. The prophets also give Yahweh’s divine will and His desire for us to walk.
So the Prophets are part of Torah. In fact, all of Yahweh’s Word is Torah. I don’t care if it is Matthew. Yahushua came and gave Torah.
He inspired Torah through the Apostles. He gave teachings through them, right? There is Torah in Revelation. There is Torah wherever Yahweh’s Word is spoken. In reality, the word torah simply means what Yahweh is teaching us, His will for us. I don’t care if it is in the book of Leviticus, or if it is in the book of I Corinthians, it is the will of Yahweh.
So if we are living our lives according to His teaching, according to Torah, that is the definition of righteousness.
Deuteronomy 6:25 – `Then it will be righteousness for us, if we are careful to observe all these commandments before YAHWEH our Elohim, as He has commanded us.’
It will be righteousness for us. So if we are going to obey every Word that proceeds out of the mouth of Yahweh, then it will be righteousness. That is the definition. Even later on it is.
Psalms 119:123 – My eyes fail [from seeking] Your salvation And Your righteous word.
His Word is righteous.
Psalms 119:172 – My tongue shall speak of Your word, For all Your commandments [are] righteousness.
Psalms 119:160 – The entirety of Your word [is] truth, And every one of Your righteous judgments [endures] forever.
Every one forever. Yahushua said:
John 17:17 – “Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.
He didn’t say, ‘Your Word to the Jews is truth for them, but not for anyone else.’ No, He didn’t make a distinction. His commandments are part of
His Word. His Word is what sanctifies us, but there are some who think only certain parts are truth for us. A lot of times you’ll say, “This is what I believe,” and you’ll provide Scripture.
It happens to be form Isaiah or Deuteronomy, and they’ll say, “That’s just the Old Testament.”
An awesome revelation and a whole new world opens up when you come to realize that not just the last 20% of that Bible you hold in your hands applies to you, but the whole Word, the whole teaching. It is an awesome revelation when you get to study the other 80% of Yahweh’s Word and seek to apply it to your life.
You are never the same. It is all there. It is all truth. It is all teaching on what righteousness really is.
Luke 1:5 – There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the division of Abijah. His wife [was] of the daughters of Aaron, and her name [was] Elizabeth.
6 – And they were both righteous before Elohim, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of YAHWEH blameless.
I don’t know of any other definition for righteousness in the Scriptures, than walking in all the commandments and ordinances of Yahweh. that is what righteousness is. That is what Yahushua restored us to, where have failed to be righteous.
We have failed to be Torah observant men and women. Yahushua makes us Torah observant men and women by His righteousness.
Even in Yahushua’s day, John the Baptist’s parents were considered righteous because they kept Torah. Does that mean they were perfect? No, but they were blameless. See what the difference is? If you say you are perfect, you might say, “Well, I’ve never sinned.”
If you are blameless, that means Yahweh is not going to blame you on the day of judgment. He has covered your sin by the blood of the Lamb.
And Yahushua’s blood covers all sin that every man ever committed, whether he lived in the year 250 B.C. or 250 A.D. That is the only biblical definition of righteousness anywhere. Old Testament, New Testament, there is only one definition of righteousness, and that is keeping the commandments and
ordinances of Yahweh.
That is what it means. the very opposite of that, then is unrighteousness.
The opposite would be sin.
Romans 6:15 – What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not!
In other words, just because the law doesn’t condemn you in Messiah, you’re not under its power to condemn, does that mean you are free to go off and break the law and sin?
Romans 6:15 – What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not!
Two opposites. Sin and righteousness are opposites. Sin leads to death. Obedience leads to righteousness.
1John 5:17 – All unrighteousness is sin, and there is sin not [leading] to death.
So if unrighteousness is sin, then sin and righteousness are opposites.
What is sin, what exactly is sin? If obedience to Torah, obedience to the law of Yahweh, and keeping the commandments and ordinances of Yahweh would be righteousness, and the opposite is unrighteousness, then transgression of the law, breaking those commands would be the definition of sin.
1John 3:4 – Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness.
5 – And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin.
In other words, whoever abides in Him will not transgress the law. If we ever transgress the law, it is because someway, somehow we have chosen not to abide in Him at that moment. If we are going to walk this out, if we’re going to live this out, the transgression of Yahweh’s law, then we are not abiding in Him. As simple as that.
If the law was to say, “Keep my feast days,” and we say, “No, that’s not for me, I don’t want to do that,” then we are transgressing the law. Right? I mean is it that hard? It does say right there in your own Bibles that you have, either sin is the transgression of the law or sin is lawlessness in some translations.
If you look it up in Strong’s Lexicon, it just says violation of the law. That is what sin is.
That is the definition of sin, to violate. So if the law has been abolished, then there is no such thing as sin for anybody. There is no need for a
Savior. There is no need to ask Yahweh to forgive you for anything, because there is no law, and if there’s no law, there is no sin.
The whole theology that the law has been abolished is contrary to what is being taught here in both Old and New Testaments.
1John 3:6 – Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him.
7 – Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous.
8 – He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of Elohim was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.
He that committeth sin is of the devil. He who transgresses the law is of the devil. Whoa. Strong words! Of the devil. What are the works of the devil? Transgression of the law.
1John 3:9 – Whoever has been born of Elohim does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of Elohim.
10 – In this the children of Elohim and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of Elohim, nor [is] he who does not love his brother.
Whoever does not keep the commandments and ordinances of Yahweh is not of Elohim. Neither is he who does not love his brother.
What is he saying here? What he is saying is if we are born of Elohim, we will not sin. Now we haven’t experienced the full rebirth yet. We say we are born again, by faith, and we want to live as though the body is dead.
Reckon ourselves to be dead and alive to Messiah, so it is no longer we who live but Yahushua lives in us. The fullness of that takes place at the rebirth, when corruption puts on incorruption and we are perfected. If we are living our lives as though we are born of Elohim, then the only way we can manifest that is to refuse to sin.
We have to refuse to transgress Yahweh’s law.
Could it get any simpler than this? It’s so basic and simple and easy. Not hard. No fancy dispensational theologies. No trying to say, “That command is for the Jews and that one’s not.” It is very simple. It’s very easy. There is no confusion.
All the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, is for you and for me. I don’t care if you are a Jew, a Gentile, slave, free, whatever you think you might be.
We are all one now in the Messiah Yahushua. We believe that. We quote that. We see that it is the modern theologians who have handed down their traditional theologies that have confused and muddied the picture and caused certain commands to be classified as ‘Jewish.’
In my conversation with the Jewish gentleman yesterday, I shared with him, and what he has studied historically, he agreed that the original believers in the Messiah were all Torah observant men.
But the Gentiles didn’t like being associated with Jewish things because there was a lot of
anti-Semitism in the Greek world, and they would be mocked and made fun by their friends.
But other things, loving your neighbor, mot committing adultery, and things like that, would not yield much persecution, but if you start wearing a set of
tassels, start keeping Sabbath, the feast days, and things like that, then that was a little too much for some gentiles to handle.
So they developed a theology to separate those elements of the Torah and said, that’s only for the Jewish people.
That is how it kind of got started. But we look at Scripture, it is very simple. Yahweh says it, we do it. There is no distinction. If we were to conclude that certain commands are for Jews only, tell me who would be the one who decides which commands are Jewish and which aren’t?
What makes a command to keep a Sabbath Jewish, and other select parts of
Yahweh’s law Jewish, while the command to refrain from adultery not Jewish, that is for everybody? Who decided that? I have yet to get a good answer from anybody on that.
Are the feast days and the unclean and clean commandments given only to the Jews? The clean and unclean has been around since the beginning of creation.
Genesis 7:1 – Then YAHWEH said to Noah, “Come into the ark, you and all your household, because I have seen [that] you [are] righteous before Me in this generation.
2 – “You shall take with you seven each of every clean animal, a male and his female; two each of animals that [are] unclean, a male and his female;
What? you mean to say that Noah, an non-Jewish man understood clean and unclean? What were these animals marked clean and unclean at the very beginning? How did he know what was clean and what was unclean? Because it was already taught what was an unclean animal. Yahweh didn’t have to explain it to him.
He already knew, so it wasn’t a Jewish thing, because Noah, a man who existed centuries before there was ever a Jew, or there was ever an Israelite, being a righteous man understood the difference. The principles of clean and unclean are not a part of a Jewish law, in the sense that it is only instruction for Jewish people.
The distinction was made when Yahweh marked the animals and said, “the ones with a split hoof and chew the cud are clean.” He marked them right there at creation. If it’s fish, they have to have fins and scales to be clean.
Do we suppose Yahweh only made this distinction between clean and unclean when He was creating all these animals for the Jewish people?
And then only for 1500 years they’ll have to worry about this. I have to make sure I mark them for the Jewish people that will live for about 1500 years then after that everyone can eat what they want. It doesn’t really make any sense. How about sacrifices? Surely, you might think, that is Levitical, Jewish stuff. No. Not true.
Genesis 8:20 – Then Noah built an altar to YAHWEH, and took of every clean animal and of every clean bird, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.
21 – And YAHWEH smelled a soothing aroma. Then YAHWEH said in His heart, “I will never again curse the ground for man’s sake, although the imagination of man’s heart [is] evil from his youth; nor will I again destroy every living thing as I have done.
You can see Noah knew the difference between clean and unclean, and sacrifices were there long before a Jewish man was born.
People like to associate sacrifices as something that was introduced to us in the law, and that the things that were introduced to us in the law are the things that are done away with, while the things that existed prior to the time that Israel was a nation still stand today.
What about sacrifices? That’s long before the law. Sacrifices are not just Jewish things. In fact, there is a good to say Abel was the first human to give an offering when he gave Yahweh the first sheep of the flock.
It is just that in the law we have the establishment of a certain group of people to be His priests and to function in a temple and make sacrifices in a temple.
But sacrifices were around, maybe since the time sin entered because where did Yahweh get those coats of skin to clothe Adam and Eve? He had to have killed an animal.
What about Sabbath? When Yahweh rested on the seventh day from His acts of creation, was He only thinking, “Oh, I need to make sure I rest one day here for this Jewish people. And 2500 years from now, I’ll have to tell them to act like Me and live like Me, and walk in My image, but everyone else can ignore what I did.” I don’t think that makes any sense.
Genesis 2:2 – And on the seventh day Elohim ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done.
3 – Then Elohim blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which Elohim had created and made.
Adam didn’t have to walk in His image, huh? Adam was made the day before this day of rest, so Adam had a full day, didn’t have to do any work, just be there with Elohim, and walk with Him in the cool of the day. He was nothing, and all of a sudden there he is, and he can enjoy that day with his Creator, get started off on the right foot.
Yahweh could explain to him what was expected, and he would go and do it.
It makes sense to me. I don’t know where their problem is. There is no biological difference between a Jewish man’s body and my body, if I’m not Jewish. We are all made the same. We all need to get rest. We all need a day to recharge spiritually, emotionally, physically.
When Yahushua said Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath, shouldn’t He have said the Sabbath was made for Jews, not Jews for the Sabbath? No, it was made for man, so He was right in what He said. When Yahweh gave the Ten Commandments in Exodus 20:
Exodus 20:8 – “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
9 – Six days you shall labor and do all your work,
10 – but the seventh day [is] the Sabbath of YAHWEH your Elohim. [In it] you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who [is] within your gates.
Exodus 20:11 – For [in] six days YAHWEH made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that [is] in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore YAHWEH blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.
You can’t relate to that? Only Jewish people can relate to the fact that Yahweh made heaven and earth? It is a memorial to creation. If we had more Sabbath keepers out there today, there wouldn’t be this evolution being taught. There would be a lot of people honoring the fact that Yahweh made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is.
I actually went to the Creation Museum in Cincinnati, and it made that point.
Some people say there’s no Scripture that says the patriarchs kept the Sabbath day. There is no evidence in Scripture that Abraham kept
Sabbath. Well, there is no evidence in Scripture that homosexuality was an abomination, but, still Yahweh destroyed Sodom and
Gomorrah.
So if we went by that, that we have to find evidence somewhere of somebody doing this command, in order for me to believe that they did.
Do you believe Abraham was straight? I do. I mean, c’mon. There are other things. Did he commit adultery? Did he steal from his neighbor? Was that okay? Is there anywhere in the patriarchs where it says they kept that command?
Is that really the way we determine things? If we do, we’re going to have to find all Ten Commandments and all the other commandments. Did Abraham take a bribe?
Was it wrong to take a bribe? Does the New Testament tell us that it is wrong to take a bribe? I don’t know of a New Testament Scripture that says it’s wrong to take a bribe, yet, we understand that it is wrong. So what happened when Yahweh gave the Sabbath to the Jewish people, when He wrote to them this commandment in stone. What happened was this:
Nehemiah 9:13 – “You came down also on Mount Sinai, And spoke with them from heaven, And gave them just ordinances and true laws, Good statutes and commandments.
14 – You made known to them Your holy Sabbath, And commanded them precepts, statutes and laws, By the hand of Moses Your servant.
Before that they didn’t know it. The Sabbath was already there. It was already in existence since the very beginning of creation, but they didn’t know about it yet. So he had to tell them about it. The day was already holy, and they were not keeping it holy because they were slaves in Egypt, so he had to tell them about it.
Some people might point to this next Scripture and say, “Ah, there it is the Sabbath is only made for Jews.”
Exodus 31:16 – `Therefore the children of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, to observe the Sabbath throughout their generations [as] a perpetual covenant.
17 – `It [is] a sign between Me and the children of Israel forever; for [in] six days YAHWEH made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day He rested and was refreshed.'”
Some might say, “There it is. That Sabbath is only between Israel and Yahweh, so we don’t have to worry about it. We are not a part of that. That’s between Him and them, not between me, a
non-Jewish person, and Yahweh.”
If we are going to use that standard as our determination of whether or not that is something we need to pay attention to, if that is the test that we are going to use, then let’s be consistent.
If Yahweh says somewhere, “This is just between Me and Israel,” if we are going to use that to determine if we are going to participate in it, let’s be consistent here, and let’s read about the new covenant.
Jeremiah 31:31 – “Behold, the days are coming, says YAHWEH, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah —
With who? The house of Israel and the house of Judah. Anybody else? I don’t see gentiles there. You’re a New Testament church, right? But you don’t do Jewish stuff, right? Because you are a new covenant assembly, you don’t do Israel stuff. You are not being consistent.
Who is the new covenant with? The old covenant was with the Jews. So is the new covenant.
Jeremiah 31:32 – “not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day [that] I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, though I was a husband to them , says YAHWEH.
Whose fathers? The Jewish people’s fathers. It is very clear who He is making this covenant with. They were the bride. He was the bridegroom. It was not according to that covenant, though. It was a new covenant.
Jeremiah 31:33 – “But this [is] the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says YAHWEH: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their Elohim, and they shall be My people.
Yahweh was talking to Jeremiah here. What is He talking about when He says My law? Is it some law in the future, or is it the Law? What defines righteousness. What defines sin? Who is they that shall be His people?
They is Israel. Israel will be His people. You can’t get out of this one, because it is so crystal clear. So how is a gentile person ever going to join into this covenant?
If it is between Israel and Yahweh, how can a gentile possibly join in and be a part of that? Because it doesn’t say anything about gentiles.
Galatians 3:29 – And if you [are] Messiah’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.
Wait a minute. This is not what you learned in Sunday School. You mean to tell me that you are actually Israel. If you Abraham’s seed, then you are Israel. If you are Messiah’s, you become Abraham’s seed.
You become heirs of the promises of the new covenant, and the obligations and the promises that are given to Israel are given to you, because you have Messiah living in you, and you no longer live.
You no longer identify with your earthly father so much as you do with your heavenly Father through His Son,
Yahushua Messiah, who lives in you. He is the one that restores you and makes you Torah observant in the eyes of Yahweh. Our Adam man did not make it, but Yahushua in you does. We become a new creation.
That means you are not gentile anymore. It is not longer that old man who lives.
Galatians 2:20 – “I have been crucified with Messiah; it is no longer I who live, but Messiah lives in me; and the [life] which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of Elohim, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
So it is important. Yahushua, like it or not, He is Jewish. He is Jewish, and He lives in you, and He keeps Jewish commands. And He is the same yesterday, today, and forever, right? So the commands He kept yesterday, He wants to keep today, and we will all keep forever, in Him. You can’t get away from it.
Exodus 31:17 – `It [is] a sign between Me and the children of Israel forever; for [in] six days YAHWEH made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day He rested and was refreshed.'”
That is a sign between Yahweh and you because you are a son of Abraham now. You are an Israelite forever, and that promise is not only for you, but the reality is, even in the Old Testament, even in the prophets, Yahweh said the following:
Isaiah 56:1 – Thus says YAHWEH: “Keep justice, and do righteousness, For My salvation [is] about to come, And My righteousness to be revealed.
2 – Blessed [is] the man [who] does this, And the son of man [who] lays hold on it; Who keeps from defiling the Sabbath, And keeps his hand from doing any evil.”
Isaiah 5:3 – “And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem and men of Judah, Judge, please, between Me and My vineyard.
4 – What more could have been done to My vineyard That I have not done in it? Why then, when I expected [it] to bring forth [good] grapes, Did it bring forth wild grapes?
5 – And now, please let Me tell you what I will do to My vineyard: I will take away its hedge, and it shall be burned; [And] break down its wall, and it shall be trampled down.
Isaiah 5:6 – I will lay it waste; It shall not be pruned or dug, But there shall come up briers and thorns. I will also command the clouds That they rain no rain on it.”
7 – For the vineyard of YAHWEH of hosts [is] the house of Israel, And the men of Judah are His pleasant plant. He looked for justice, but behold, oppression; For righteousness, but behold, a cry [for help].
We are foreigners (Gentiles). It is not just for Jews, it is for everyone, for all nations. That is what Yahweh wanted when He had the temple made, was for everyone to keep the Sabbath, and for everyone to come to the temple and give offerings and make sacrifices, and to be accepted and for everyone to come to His temple and pray.
No wall of partition. Everyone who joins themselves to Yahweh will be accepted.
It is a misnomer that certain commands are only for Jews.
They are for anyone. Anyone of any race can come and join themselves to Yahweh, even back then before Messiah came, because Yahushua also covers their sin, and they become Israel also, just as He covers our sin when we become Israel, if we are not Israel in the flesh. Yahushua quoted this verse about the house of prayer.
Matthew 21:12 – Then Yahushua went into the temple of Elohim and drove out all those who bought and sold in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold doves.
13 – And He said to them, “It is written, `My house shall be called a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a `den of thieves.'”
Yahweh wanted, and Yahushua confirmed, He wanted a temple to be this house of prayer for all nations. That was His will, house of prayer for all nations, but it didn’t happen.
If there is any doubt whatsoever as to whether Yahweh wants gentiles to keep what you might call Jewish commandments, if there is any doubt in your mind that in a new covenant era, in a New Testament time period that yes, He does want you to pay attention to Sabbaths and New Moons and festivals and all these things, read this.
This is after Yahushua returns, obviously a new covenant time period.
Isaiah 66:22 – “For as the new heavens and the new earth Which I will make shall remain before Me,” says YAHWEH, “So shall your descendants and your name remain.
23 – And it shall come to pass [That] from one New Moon to another, And from one Sabbath to another, All flesh shall come to worship before Me,” says YAHWEH.
You mean they’re going to be paying attention to New Moons? Yes. And it doesn’t say Jewish flesh, it says all flesh. Everyone will come, whether you are Jew, gentile, or whatever, on the New Moons, the Sabbaths, and you will worship before Him.
I think it is quite possible that because men today don’t pay any attention to when Yahweh has a new month, and they are too busy saying we are in the month of June now, rather than in the third month of Yahweh’s year, that Yahweh is going to have us come and worship before Him on the New Moon so that we will begin to pay attention to His calendar.
He will do this so that we will get on His timetable rather on Julius Caesar’s timetable, because he who controls time and names time is the one in power, in a sense. If we give homage to Caesar and to Rome through our preference for the Roman calendar and ignore Yahweh’s calendar that He has established then I don’t think that is right.
There is something about that doesn’t sit very well with me, and I don’t think it sits well with Yahweh.
Isaiah 66:23 – And it shall come to pass [That] from one New Moon to another, And from one Sabbath to another, All flesh shall come to worship before Me,” says YAHWEH.
24 –
What happens to those who have transgressed the Law? They are unrepentant sinners. It say their worm does not die, and their fire is not quenched. Hell fire. They shall be an abhorrence to all flesh, the ones who do not walk in the commandments. Yahushua quoted this.
Mark 9:43 – “If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed, rather than having two hands, to go to hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched —
44 – “where `Their worm does not die, And the fire is not quenched.’
He is quoting from Isaiah 66:44 where just the verse before that it says, all flesh shall come to worship before Him on the New Moons and on Sabbaths. So even in this so called New Testament, we see gentiles and Jews are called to one worship. One worship. New Moon and Sabbath. Not, ‘Oh you Jews, you know, go ahead keep you Saturday Sabbath over there.
That’s so quaint.
It’s so neat to watch you come to the Messiah. But we gentiles, we’re going to keep church over here on Sunday. That’s the day the Father has appointed us to worship. You Jews, of course, back there in the Messianic synagogues, you need to keep that day. Maybe I’ll join you and play Jewish for a day or two.’
Wait a minute, I thought the wall of partition was taken down?
I thought that we are all one in Messiah Yahushua, that He didn’t create two camps, separated from one another. Even in the New Testament period, Jews and Gentiles were all going to the synagogue together.
Acts 18:4 – And he reasoned in the synagogue every Sabbath, and persuaded both Jews and Greeks.
In fact, James when he gave the ruling of the 4 rules that the Gentiles needed to follow, he said the following.
Acts 15:19 – “Therefore I judge that we should not trouble those from among the Gentiles who are turning to Elohim,
20 – “but that we write to them to abstain from things polluted by idols, [from] sexual immorality, [from] things strangled, and [from] blood.
Some people think, ‘Oh, there are the 4 commands from the law of Moses, the only 4 commands that Gentiles have to keep.’ Wait a minute. Were people allowed to be polluted by idols in the time of Noah? No. What about sexual immorality? Were they allowed to do that in the time of Noah?
No. What about blood? Could they drink blood in the time of Noah? No.
Anything strangled would be strangled animals that didn’t have the blood poured out. That didn’t come from the law of Moses or some law for the Jews. Those are things that we can clearly say, and most of you can see, that they didn’t come from the law of Moses. It is basic things.
You’ve got to turn away from idolatry, turn away from sexual immorality and from drinking blood. All these idolatrous, pagan practices.
Then we will accept you. It will show us that you really are turning to Elohim. So He is writing to all of the Gentiles who are turning to Elohim, to abstain from these things. Why? Why didn’t He give them more than that? Why didn’t He tell them more to do? Because of what it says in
verse 21
Acts 15:21 – “For Moses has had throughout many generations those who preach him in every city, being read in the synagogues every Sabbath.”
James 2:2 – For if there should come into your assembly a man with gold rings, in fine apparel, and there should also come in a poor man in filthy clothes,
He goes on to say not to show partiality. This word translated assembly is … they didn’t like the word, so they didn’t want to give the real word. Every other time the word occurs in the New Testament, with maybe one exception, it is translated synagogue.
But here, the King James, the New King James translators saw that word synagogue in the Greek and thought, “Well, we can’t fathom that he is telling them to go to a synagogue. They
weren’t meeting at synagogues. No, they were meeting in churches with steeples on them back then, weren’t they?”
No. No, they weren’t. So why are we? What he is talking about is their practice. They are going to synagogues.
James 2:2 – For if there should come into your assembly a man with gold rings, in fine apparel, and there should also come in a poor man in filthy clothes,
It says when a man comes into your synagogue with gold rings or a poor man, don’t show partiality. The only other verse where this word is not translated synagogue is in Acts 13:42. And it fits there.
I wonder how many people really believe this next verse.
Galatians 3:28 – There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Messiah Yahushua.
You are all one. If we are all one who unites us? Messiah Yahushua. So it doesn’t if you’re a Greek. It doesn’t matter who you are. We are all united in one body.
Many like to quote this verse and say, ‘There you go. You don’t have to keep Jewish laws.’ But they are ignoring the very next verse that says we become the seed of Abraham through the Messiah.
So if you want to receive the promises given to Israel, you need to also look into the obligations.
A lot of people want the promises but not the obligations. One of the obligations is that we keep
Sabbath, that we keep the festivals, that we keep the clean and the unclean, that we turn away from paganistic rooted fesivals that are not rooted in Scripture. then I’ll tell you what will happen.
Just as the Jewish man I spoke with on the phone yesterday, many people in Israel today have never heard of a Messiah called Yahushua who lived in the first century and died for their sins and yet taught His followers to keep the Sabbath.
When they look at us, and we say we are following the Messiah, they’re going to look at us and say, ‘Well, it
can’t be the real one because the real Messiah would keep Torah.
If you are not following that then it can’t be the real Messiah. It is different when we start keeping
Torah. I had an experience when I was in Israel that I want to share with you. We went to this small hotel run by a
immigrant from America.
It was a Shabbat evening, and I heard singing out in the lobby. I went out to the lobby, and said, “Shabbat Shalom. I also keep Sabbath.”
They looked at me and said, “Shabbat Shalom. Come on. Sit down at the table.” And thy gave me a whole plateful of food. They asked where I’m from and am I Jewish.
I said, “Well, I don’t know if I was born Jewish or not, but I do keep Torah. Some people might think I’m not Jewish because I believe in the one called Yahushua
the Messiah, the one commonly called Jesus.
He did not do away with the Law, as is commonly believed. I try to follow Him, and He kept Torah, so I keep Torah. One of the people at the table looked at me and said, “I don’t care, to me you’re Jewish. You’re Jewish.”
It is Torah observance that will make you Jewish. And they get upset over there when Jewish people end up
converting to Christianity because they lose their identity as Jews.
That is why they hold funerals for people who convert to Christianity because they know longer keep Torah, no longer eat kosher, no longer keep Sabbath. The things that identify them as being Jewish, they no longer do.
But there are Jewish people over there who do keep Torah and do believe in the Messiah and still are accepted in the community. When I shared with this man, he said, “I don’t understand.
Our children end up marrying non-Jewish then one parent is Jew and one isn’t and the grandchildren get confused because they’ll go to synagogue on Friday evening and hear the Torah, but then they go to church on Sunday, and they hear turn the other cheek when one slaps you, whereas the Torah says an eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.”
I said, ” Actually, those two Scriptures do not contradict each other.
What He is talking about with an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth is sentencing guidelines for those who break Torah and are being taken to the judges.
Taking personal vengeance was always wrong. Even Abraham. When he and Lot’s herdsmen were fighting, Abraham said, ‘You go to the right, I’ll go to the left. You go to the left, I’ll go to the right.’
And his son, Isaac, when he dug a well, and they fought over that well, he went and dug another well. They struggled with him over that one, so he goes off and digs another well. He is teaching
nonresistance.
Don’t take personal vengeance. And that is exactly what Abraham and Isaac has done, and Jacob as well.” He looked at me and said, “Wow, you know the Torah better than I do.”
Then he announced to everyone in the room, “This is what theses guys believe,” he said, “They don’t follow rabbis. They don’t follow Talmud. They just follow the Scriptures. They don’t go to the right. They don’t go to the left.” And I said, “You got it.”
My point in saying all of this, is when you start building sukkas, when you start keeping kosher, you have an avenue to which the Jewish people can say, “Wait a minute, what I’ve been told about this Jesus fellow is He was a rebellious son.
If He was the son of Elohim, He was a rebellious son. The Father says to keep Shabbat. He says keep Sunday.
He must have been a rebellious son, so how could he have been a true son?” When you start doing things, this is a side benefit. This is not the reason why I keep Torah, but this is the wall of partition that needs to be destroyed.
It is tradition, just like in the first century that has built that wall.
When Yahweh put Israel in the land, His desire for them was that they would communicate the awesome works of Yahweh to the nations around them. Even the land of Israel is situated in such a way that if someone in Europe wants to trade with someone in Africa, they have to go through Israel.
If they’re in Africa and want to trade with anyone in Europe or in Asia, they have to go through Israel and vice versa.
So Yahweh selected a piece of land that other nations would have to stop and rest, and they would hear about Yahweh. Yahweh wanted Israel to be that light to the other nations. Instead, as we well know, Israel got influenced by the heathen and walked in their ways and followed their statutes, and so on.
When Yahushua became the Savior of men, His desire was that He would live
His Torah observant life in the life of His followers, so that the Jews who rejected the Messiah would be provoked to jealousy, and that they would see, yes, I guess He is the Messiah, and the same thing happened.
He desired to be a light in the Jews for the Gentiles, and so many refused.
And He desired to be a light in the Gentiles for the Jews that they might receive the Messiah, but once again, they were not the light. We need to be that light. We need to be Yisrael, where Yisrael in the flesh is not living and not
accepting the Messiah of Yisrael.
So He wanted to be a light to Israel in the flesh and Israel who are not in the flesh and make them become Yisrael.
Are we willing to allow Him to be Yisrael in us? Are we allowing Yahushua to express His Jewish roots in us? Actually, when you say he is Israel, you’re saying he is all that Yahweh wanted
Yisrael to be.
Isaiah 49:1 – “Listen, O coastlands, to Me, And take heed, you peoples from afar! YAHWEH has called Me from the womb; From the matrix of My mother He has made mention of My name.
This Yahushua talking here in the Prophets.
Isaiah 49:2 – And He has made My mouth like a sharp sword; In the shadow of His hand He has hidden Me, And made Me a polished shaft; In His quiver He has hidden Me.”
3 – “And He said to me, `You [are] My servant, O Israel, In whom I will be glorified.’
Now Yahweh is talking to the Son (vs. 3). Yahushua is the One who will become the embodiment of
Israel. Yahushua responds in verse 4.
Isaiah 49:4 – Then I said, `I have labored in vain, I have spent my strength for nothing and in vain; Yet surely my just reward [is] with YAHWEH, And my work with my Elohim.'”
5 – “And now YAHWEH says, Who formed Me from the womb [to be] His Servant, To bring Jacob back to Him, So that Israel is gathered to Him (For I shall be glorious in the eyes of YAHWEH, And My Elohim shall be My strength),
Israel needs to be brought back, so how can Israel bring back Israel? This is the Messiah talking here. Yahushua is Yisrael, spoken of here, and Yisrael is going to bring back Jacob. He is going to bring back Israel, so
Israel is gathered. That is one of the things that He is called to do. That is His role, one of the most important things He is going to do.
Isaiah 49:6 – Indeed He says, `It is too small a thing that You should be My Servant To raise up the tribes of Jacob, And to restore the preserved ones of Israel; I will also give You as a light to the Gentiles, That You should be My salvation to the ends of the earth.'”
7 – Thus says YAHWEH, The Redeemer of Israel, their Holy One, To Him whom man despises, To Him whom the nation abhors, To the Servant of rulers: “Kings shall see and arise, Princes also shall worship, Because of YAHWEH who is faithful, The Holy One of Israel; And He has chosen You.”
8 – Thus says YAHWEH: “In an acceptable time I have heard You, And in the day of salvation I have helped You; I will preserve You and give You As a covenant to the people, To restore the earth, To cause them to inherit the desolate heritages;
And that is, if we say we are Israel, we need to live like Israel.
And stop calling yourselves Gentiles. Yes, you were once Gentiles in the flesh. At one time you were. Not anymore.
Ephesians 2:11 – Therefore remember that you, once Gentiles in the flesh– who are called Uncircumcision by what is called the Circumcision made in the flesh by hands–
12 – that at that time you were without Messiah, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without Elohim in the world.
Strangers from the covenants of promise, including the new covenant
Ephesians 2:13 – But now in Messiah Yahushua you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Messiah.
14 – For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation,
All of Yahweh’s commandments He desired for Israel are intended for anyone who wants to be grafted in and join themselves to Yahweh. We were once gentiles in the flesh, but we are no longer aliens, no longer strangers in the commonwealth of Israel. You are Israel now because Israel lives in you. Yahushua, the Israelite, lives in you.
It could get really ridiculous if you wanted it to. It can get really crazy.
You could say, “Should I keep the Jewish commands or not?” Then you start consulting your genealogy. You start with your dad. Is he Jewish? No. How about grandpa? No. Great grandpa? You go back in your family tree, and one Jew happens to fall out of the tree, “Oh no, now I have to start keeping Jewish commandments.” Do you see how
ridiculous it can get?
Yahweh is not consulting our genealogy table to see whether or not we are supposed to keep certain commands.
He is consulting His Word, which He really intended for all mankind. In fact, Zechariah 14, all the world is keeping the Feast of Tabernacles, Jew and Gentile alike.
1John 2:1 – My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Yahushua Messiah the righteous.
Sin is transgression of the law.
1John 2:2 – And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.
3 – Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments.
4 – He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
1John 2:3 – Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments.
How do you know whether you know Messiah? If you keep His commandments. What are Yahushua’s commandments? Do you believe that Yahushua gave the Torah, that He was the Word of Elohim, made flesh and dwelt among us, and when Yahweh spoke the Word, He gave it through Yahushua the Messiah?
No man has heard the Father’s voice at any time. He was the One thundering from Sinai.
So He gave the commands. If He is the Word in Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, then He is also the Word in Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. He is the complete Word. When 1 John 2 says keep His commandments, whose
commandments? Messiah’s commandments. Were His commandments any different than His Father? Was He at variance with His Father?
Or did He teach everything His Father taught? Important question. The clear answer to me is when Yahushua said, “here is the greatest commandment of all: love Yahweh with all your heart, soul, and strength, and love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commands hang all the law and the prophets.” They all hang off the two great commands.
You can’t take bolt cutters and cut them off.
The Law and Prophets, every law given from Genesis to Revelation has one thing in mind, and that is love. Love Yahweh with all your heart, soul, and strength. Love your neighbor as yourself. Part of loving Yahweh is keeping feasts. Part of that is keeping Sabbath. There is no distinction in Scriptures anywhere.
If there is and you think they’re only for Israel, then you need to wake up and pay attention because we are Israel. We are Israel. That is what the Scriptures teach.
1John 2:4 – He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
Ooh, is a liar. That is a hard word. Don’t even claim to know Him if you don’t keep His commandments. the truth is not even in you unless you do.
1John 2:5 – But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of Elohim is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him.
See, love and keeping His commands go hand in hand.
1John 2:6 – He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.
7 – Brethren, I write no new commandment to you, but an old commandment which you have had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which you heard from the beginning.
8 – Again, a new commandment I write to you, which thing is true in Him and in you, because the darkness is passing away, and the true light is already shining.
You can’t say out of one side of your mouth, you keep the Ten Commandments, and out of the other side say, the Sabbath is done away with. Or Sabbath has been changed now.
You can’t say out of one side of your mouth, we can ignore any part of the Torah that was meant for the common people, and then claim to be a Messiah follower because Messiah follows those things.
You can’t say out of one side of your mouth, ” Oh, that’s all for Israel. That’s for those Jewish people over there,” and then claim, “That new covenant is for me.” It is double talk. It is contradictory statements, and it’s double mindedness.
What we really need to do is look at Yahushua’s life and emulate it. WWYD? What would He do? What really would He do? If we do what He did, then we will manifest Israel.
We will manifest righteousness. Then when we turn our heart completely to Him, we will receive the great and
awesome promises given to Israel. Now in so doing, no man should boast. No man should boast in his own works because, in reality, it is not we who do it, It is Yahushua who does it in us, just as He did when He was on the Earth.
May Yahweh’s Spirit of truth and love and righteousness reveal this to all of us, and may it abide with us forever. And may Yahweh bless you and may Yahweh have mercy on us all.
